I like how James had his head on a swivel, watching for your safety, as you were writing down prices and focused on recording the video. Alpha.
James is the boom diggity!
I love James so much - wish I had a hubby 😮💨
I noticed that too ❤
I noticed that also, that's how my hubby is also😍😍❤
Definitely has your six
I wish I had a husband who showed caring so much like yours
James is a roll model husband!!
me too
I have that same type of hubby 😍😍
My hubby has come around to what I’m doing. It’s now what “we’re” doing. He’s an awesome husband & I’m truly blessed. God heard my prayers .. 💕
At my Aldi's the tissues just bumped up t 1.39, were 1.09 2 months ago.Try frozen items. A pizza. Cheese, lunch meats are going up too. I rarely see seniors there. Be blessed. Ciao
PRAISE REPORT. My neighbor has chickens they have been coming to my place. I feed the birds. They were cleaning up the ground. So i started talking to them and i feed them treats. Good feed. And bugs crickets and mealworms. They now run toward me when they see me in the yard. So we built a nesting house i told them ok i need a few eggs. Today i went to the box i had eggs!!!!
God Bless those chickens 😅🎉😊❤
I look forward to these! My husband likes a small glass of Orange juice every morning We always buy the 12 oz frozen concrete.. In 2020 they were .88 and we have watched it raise to now 2.69!!! We always added a little more water to it...we are now adding more water. Thank you for all your hard work so many of us appreciate it more than you can know!!
That's like a 200% increase, not 8%.
My husband and I have noticed this too! $2.79 for Great Value (Walmart) brand frozen concentrate. Insane!
I had to stop buying oj all together.
Time to break into the Tang that Patera recommended stocking up on a few years ago
We also buy the frozen oj. Dang, it takes me 2 hours to calm down after we grocery shop!!!
The entity escalating their prices is Walmart! I went to pick up a angel food cake mix, and there was only one available priced at $3.44. I nearly fell over- that box should be a dollar. I also walked away from purchasing LaCroix waters. EVERYTHING is astronomically high. This is in rural TN.
Angel food cake mix at our Safeway the box mix is 7.49!!
No way am I paying that
The cheap type of spices at Walmart that used to be a dollar are now over 2.25 each SE Ky. Aldi were still .99 each. I picked up many.
You are right. I saw a box of band aids for over 7.00 and their flowers for monther's day were 24.95!
It's almost $5 at Price Chopper. You better stock up .
This is worldwide, not just Walmart,we are all being milked for all we have. Just to survive.
My daughter in Calif said she bought a dozen farm fresh eggs 9$ a doz. I thought 3$ in TN was high!
paid $5 for a dozen amish eggs at the farmers market
When checking for shrinkflation look at the calorie count per serving. If it is less they are adding more liquid and less product.
@charlenepurlock WOW!!! I WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT. Very true but I sure don't like having to watch for these kinds of things but due to tight budgets...a necessary evil. Thanks!
Aren't you SO clever! Way to go! Thanx for the tip.👍
Gotta know the new rules of the game if you want to win.
These are things I've found in my research: " The exoskeletons in crickets are similar to those found in shellfish, including shrimp, crabs and lobsters. In fact, people with shellfish allergies are more likely to be allergic to crickets and other edible insects like cicadas. This fact makes adding crickets into various foods without advertising it as such quite risky. Mistakes in labeling could lead to a lawsuit." "To find out if a product contains cochineal bugs, look for any of the following ingredients on the label: cochineal extract, cochineal, carmine, carminic acid, or Natural Red No. 4." "According to BAKERpedia, the final label for cricket products must include the insect's scientific name. The label should also mention the insect's presence, such as the QUID (quality identifier) percentage."
I bought a few weeks ago 15 dozen eggs from my egg lady, and took 8 dozen and blended them up and dehydrated them. Stored them in Mylar bags for a rainy day.
Only days???
Oh Patara I remember them Saltine day's at that .89 cent price. Thank you for all your hard work w keeping us up w the inflation. ❤
🦋🇺🇸👋Good Morning Patera and Everyone. I see James got your back. That’s a relationship ❤. You Rock Patera. Have a Blessed Day 🙏🙏❤️
I noticed some sliced cheese went from 8 oz. to 7 1/2 oz. Their block cheese is still better at $1.75-$1.89 when other stores the cost is over $4.00. Thanks for your efforts to speak truth.
The Swiss was 1.75 Monday. I bought two! Love Swiss. Knoxville, Tn
Bacon
Watch out for salmonella poisoning in some cheeses 😢
Saw that also with the weight of cheese.
Shrinkflation is happening!
The joint care dog food we order through Chewy is the same price as 2 years ago BUT is 5 lbs less to bag! Ouch!
I've noticed my canned cat food has more water in it.
Ordered checks. They used to be 600 in an order. They are now 480 an order and like 30.00 more. ( check gallery online) 😢
So not actually same price, as you must compare with weight
@@dees1378 yikes!!
Love starting my day with a video from Patara
Her video is my treat at the end of a busy day!
Love the smug sarcasm bout crickets.. shhhhh. Lol
LOL!!!!
Shrinkflation is often hard to calculate because I am finding many products in the same size cans, but when you open them, there is not as much food in the cans. I’ve seen this several times in the past week! Not a happy camper!
All i cab tell you is 4 years ago our familys bog standard week shop was around 150euro including pet food and treats for the children. Now, for less items and careful meal planning we are pushing closer to 350-400 euro. Ok so the children have grown a bit so portions for them are a little larger, but we arent buying extra packs of meat in that..
@fiona that is a very big increase 😲
James in background love you guys. I Love ALDIs
James on guard duty. 🔫
I would add , yogurt, cottage cheese, block cheese, and ice cream. God bless.😊❤😊
Your a breath of fresh air! Love all your videos. 💚
(Ireland) ☘Aldi is doing well - over here Ive been doing the same experiment - a £70 shop is now £94 (and no bananas this month!)
Wish you lived closer , I got bunches of bananas in my grove I can’t keep up . I’m feeding em to my pigs and chooks . As my freezers full enough .
@@nancydrew1102 😭
I went into a Piggly Wiggly, a grocery store here in east central Mississippi. It’s on the Indian reservation and more expensive to us that aren’t part of the tribe. But I went to grab something thawed for supper one day and wanted chicken. TWO chicken breasts coated a little over $11. I told the guy that went and got them he could take them back, I couldn’t afford it.
James is the Dude! ❤
You may already know this but cricket powder is also known as acheta powder.
Cheetos?
Be careful of it if you have a shellfish allergy as I've read it can/will cause the same reaction =(
There's some more names, rather go to your farmer's market.
Ty for keeping up with this for us. I keep saving my receipts but not having the time to go through them. I just watched your last video too. Kudos to James for always having your back. Some people are just mean. Much love to you- Bessie
Patera . You always make me laugh.. thank you!!!
me too 😂
Hello Patara, will you please add rice and toilet paper to your list? Thanks for what you’re doing. We appreciate you so much…hugs to y’all
I love your repurposing of those leftover homeschool notebooks!
Love these comparisons. My grown children are finally seeing it.🙌 With many people experiencing normalcy bias for so long, its been a challenge to talk to them about preparing. 😞 Sadly it will be crunch time for those now finally realizing and excepting what’s coming. The process will be more laboring and costly, but they can still create a buffer. I pray they will be able to acquire enough supplies to allow time to learn the skills needed to provide for their families. I would love to see the cost differences from 2020 to now! Thank you for all your time, work, and dedication to inspire and inform others. You’re a true blessing.
I shop Aldi… eastern PA. Frozen Broccoli Florets .59 in 2020. It’s steadily increased 5-10 cents. Currently $1.09.
Eggs used to be 49 cents. This Spring they’ve been just over/under $2. (Have seen them as high as $3.49 at Aldi though, during egg shortages.)
Canned Black Beans went from .49 to now .85.
Tuna was .59, now 1.39.
Aldi brand Beaumont instant coffee was $1.99 going into 2020. Now $4.99.
I went to Aldi's the other day, and when I got home I told my wife I have some good new and some bad news. The good news is I only bought $20 worth of food. The bad news is I paid $50 for it.
Lol!
I remember when Aldi Saltines were 55 cents a box!
Good morning Patara!
Thank you for keeping us updated on prices.

Clumping cat litter has gone crazy. I switched to horse bedding pine pellets. 40 pounds for $7.50 or close to it. From Tractor Supply. It's the same as the fancy pine litter they maket to cat owners, but much much cheaper. It doesn't clump, but it absorbs and controls the oder. When it gets wet you just give the pan a little shake and it all falls to the bottom and the fresh pellets stay on the top. My cats go outside during the day and only use their pan at night or if it's raining. Four of my cats seem to be ok with the switch, but my one elderly cat who doesn't go out at all hates it and refuses to use it. So, I still have to get the clummping clay for her, but she is the only one who uses it, so I don't have to make that purchase nearly as often. If I had found out this sooner, I could have saved an incredible amount of money.
Thanks for this idea
a box of paracetamol has gone down slightly in price BUT instead of 32 there's only 26 in the box.
Shrinkflation
Patera Thank You so much for this video. We live an hour and half from Aldi's. When I have an appointment with the doctor we always hit the Aldi on the way home. I can tell you that prices are through the roof here in South Central Kansas. We started buying groceries for my mom before convid. She's a creature of habit and always buys the same groceries. I use to buy her groceries for the month for about $150 and now it's $389 month to cover her groceries. We have a family of 5 and our grocery bill has always been a bit higher than most because of the amount of people we buy for. Our daughter has Celiac Disease and I will tell you that anything we buy for her is higher. A loaf of bread for her use to be about $3.89 a loaf. It's now $7.89.😮 this is crazy. We have paid off all our debts and doubling down on our mortgage now. We haven't taken a vacation since 2000. All I can say is everyone hold on it's getting rougher by the day. Much love from our family to your family 💞
In UK when the Aldi's opened it forced a price war across the board. Now other supermarkets advertise ""Aldi Price Match"" LOL.... No bugs here either. My only worry is the smaller family run stores.
Love these videos. James facial expression in that fist clip made me chuckle a bit he is on a mission and it reminded me that I actually about gave my husband a stroke last year at SAMS. We needed a few different things so we divided and conquered in the store and me and my daughter went back to produce and he went to get some other things on the other side of the store....well on the way back to the front me and my daughter stopped to look at garden stuff and then sat down to try out a porch swing (my 7yr old ALWAYS wants to "try" out any chair she sees in a store...lol) It would have been all fine but my phone was still on silent (we were at church just before this) and it was not in a back pocket were I usually keep it to feel it vibrate if its on silent so I did not feel it when he tried to call...(I am always really good about having my phone available and answering right away if we split up somewhere) It was just one of those things were we were all talking as a family after church and on our way into the store and it slipped my mind. Well because I did not answer when he called after getting all the stuff he was supposed to grab..he ended up sprinting around the store and parking lot like a maniac looking for us in a panic and when he found us just chatting away on a porch swing he was red faced, sweaty, and more than a little upset.......if looks could kill he would have dropped us both dead on the spot...to his credit however instead of yelling at us he just looked at us and said in a grumbly tone "We are going home. I need to change my shirt I sweat clean through this one." (We had planned a few more errands before going home.) Needless to say we are now EXTRA diligent about making sure all our phones are on and charged when going places.
Thanks for your hard work on inflation.
I was surprised by coffee this past winter. I buy beans not ground. 32 oz bag had cost 12.99. At first when I purchased again was glad to see it was still 12.99. Got home to see bag now 28 oz not the 32 oz of about 6 months ago!!
Have you had any trouble getting beans? We buy green and do them ourselves but when we have an emergency or when buying something to set aside, most times we can't find beans, only ground
@@marilynweber7957
So far haven’t had that problem. I usually keep 2 bags on hand; but I understand that may not always be the case
Would love to see you add rice and pasta to your list. Both are good items to “put on the shelf”.
Thanks so much for doing this comparison for all of us. ❤
Husband had to go out today, popped into Asda on the way home, spent £34 on 10 tins of pilchards, 14 tins of fruit and something else in tins amounting to another 10, so basically £1 per tin. A lot to show for what he got, but don't know about the shrinkflation side of it. I should have told him more Spam! You have a good spread sheet there! Cheers!
I like Aldi, just wish I had one closer to me.
You’re an angel. This is a lot of work. Bless you. I appreciate it and here in Idaho we don’t have Aldi. It’s interesting to see how much more we are paying
Good morning, and we love you guys! Wishing you an awesome and blessed day!
Thank you for all that you do! I think people need to look up more canned and frozen veg recipes. Thankful for those on the internet like you helping others!🕊🌻
I’ve been shocked at the price of coconut at aldis (and elsewhere). Last august I was paying $1.89 a bag then it jumped to $2.50 and then to $3.29 this year. They had it on sale for $1.50 recently and I cleaned out two stores for my bakery. I’m still watching to try and catch a sale again. Right now it’s not even in the stores.
🦋🇺🇸👋Yes Coconut oil has went up. Butter as well
Issues with the import
Publix here had coconut on “sale” last week for $5
Good work, thanks so much for what you've done and discovered.
Most of us have to purchase dairy products because we don't have a better source or option to afford a goat or cow. Items I specifically purchase when I can get to Aldi's are...
Frozen fruit
Dairy- milk, hard cheeses,
soft cheeses- ex. cream cheese
Sour cream, Yogurt,
And butter.
I live 70 miles from the nearest Aldi's. When I visit my daughter, I make an effort to pick up produce and dairy.
Morning Patara!
I'M ON THE WEST COAST AND MY PRICES ARE WAY HIGHER. I JUST SPENT $8.98 FOR COFFEE.
The coffee we buy in Oz is $19.50 on special. That was the normal price 6 months ago.
Yeah I'm in San Diego and everything is way more expensive in any other grocery store. But aldi is the same!
Yeah I'm noticing the items going on sale but meanwhile they've raised the original price one dollar. Some of the things in Colorado at Whole Foods, Sprouts and Natural Grocers are going up big jumps. I try to buy all organic and vegan. The vegan stuff is expensive and they don't bat an eye to raise the price on that. Sprouts still has some really nice sales though- I love their BOGO. Natural Grocers only sells organic produce which is lovely and I will pay more for that. I don't buy alcohol or junk food. Don't go out to eat or movies don't get my nails done, hair cut once per year. Vacation to see my grandbaby once a year. Drive a 2007 Yaris which was given to me. Food is my medicine.
Love your Last sentence!
Good morning sweetheart! Love the way James keeps an eye over you!!🙏🏻❤️
Thanks for the info, Patara. I am a shut-in, unable to get out and check prices, so your reports are good general snapshots, helpful for calculating my lists when sending to the store for groceries.
We got an aldi last year. It's much smaller than the one I traveled to in a larger town. It's next door to Walmart and there is sometimes a few cents difference on certain items. Huge disappointment
Good morning always great information, GODSPEED 🙏
Good morning Patera, I’ve been waiting for your Aldi inflation video, then I got busy painting & renting a mobile out. I’m here a bit late, thankful you are continuing doing this. I will be able to share it with family & friends. We are blessed and we thank God he has blessed us with talents, strength and wisdom. We are still frugal with our hard earned monies. Thanks and God bless you and yours!
Just got back from Aldis. Things have gone way up!
My Aldi in northeastern Connecticut on May 11th didn't have any toilet paper. The isle was completely empty, not even the pallets that they put the toilet paper on. So HEADS UP because I asked and they said tgat they where told of a possibility of toilet paper shortages again 😢❤.
We ordered half a cow and put it in a freezer a couple times to beat inflation and will continue. We get an average of 350# each time and it costs about $5 a pound for everything from ground beef to ribeyes to NY strips!
Thank you for doing all that work for us! I appreciate you. 😊
Gas ⛽️ Economic indicators are dire! 🔥 people can’t fill-up at the pumps.
Heard this observation yesterday, so I observed at Wawa Gas Pump payments ⛽️ and none of the cars were sub-compacts with 10-12 gas tanks and none of the customers were topping off for the weekend travel to the beach 🏝️
Gas pump ⛽️ $ amounts
$4.58 so 1.3 gallons
$66 normal 20 gallons
$20 partially 5 gallons
$37 normal 10 gallons
While I was there topping-off for the weekend
My top-off was 7.62 gallons today which is almost a 1/2 tank which I do at normally anyway
Round number aren’t normal.
As I was leaving looking at the odd pumps 1, 3,5 were showing $10, $10 and $15 that’s 2-3-5 gallons max at $3.45 for 87 octane
Goood Mornin’ Patara! bring it sista!
Thanks❤❤❤❤❤❤
I did a similar study at my local Wal*art starting 3 years ago. In that period, prices stayed near the same, but shrinkflation was everywhere....I see the strategy....Consumers who were concerned about that bug, used the pickup services, which requires a pre-payment. They don't know the packages are smaller until they get home....With that said, we must realize that these markets are just the middle man. Sure they earn a profit and they should. But they're not going to lose money because fertilizer, shipping and packing materials have gone through the roof......Thanks for your hard work, Patara. It's good to see how accurate (or not) the marketing is for these sales.
Here in New Mexico I cringe everytime I go to the store. I purchase for our church food pantry and have to readjust all the time to stay on budget. Those who use the food pantry are really in trouble with prices. Even those on food stamps.
Loved to see James stand guard! We love you guys!
We don't have an Aldi. We have Walmart, Kroger, and Target.
Thank you for all that you do
Thank you Patara and James. For keeping us up to date on food prices. It is expensive out there for less you are taking home. Much love to all from California. I planted blueberries yesterday. something new for my food yard.
A 5 dozen egg carton is $13 here in wa state. I remember they’d run sales at $3. We have hens that lay 12 eggs per day for our family of 6 and it’s $12 for a month of feed but we sell extra eggs to cover feed cost. That’s how you beat inflation! 😎
Good morning everyone 😊
🦋🇺🇸👋Good Morning
Good morning Anita! 👋
Near O'Hare airport. Aldi's is cheaper on cereal, cheese, teabags, oatmeal, and many other staples. I go there every two weeks. Tina, Al's wife
Good morning everybody
Thank you dear ❤
I went to a farmers market cause I like to support local producers and bought 4 pork chops. $24.00. I wanted to say never mind but I felt bad so I got them but you better believe I won’t do it again.
Thank you Patara!❤👍🏻🍓🧇🧀🍞🥚🍎🍌☕️🐾
I remember stocking up on Aldi coffee in 21 at $1.69 a package when the other stores were $4 and something. Now Aldi is priced like the “regular” stores were 3 years ago. I put that coffee in my deep freeze and it seems fine to me.
Thank you for your hard work. We dont have an Aldi's or anything else . Just a private owned grocery store in our small town. Nearest big store is 60 miles. So take that list and double the price is what I pay.😢 Lettuce was $2. 39 last I checked. No crickets here, (except at night chirping away, sounding happy they are not in food) 😂 God bless us all. ❤
We don’t have Aldi in our area, but, I feel sure the pricing would be comparable
I make soap and I use a lot of olive oil. I buy the Walmart brand. 101 ounces pure olive oil was $18.99 about a month ago. Now it is 29.99!
I have been going to Aldi alittle more because I thought they used to be lower prices. I found that their prices are pretty much the same as everywhere else. I started going because the baked goods all had bioengineered food ingredience to find that it is also in Aldi's baked goods and snacks.
Thank you, Patara! ❤
Hugs and kisses to you and all the subscribers
PATARA, WHEN I WAS A KID IN THE 60'S I HAD A FRIEND'S MOM WORKED IN A FACTORY MAKING CANDY & CHOCOLATE!!! SHE TOLD US BUGS WERE GROUNDED UP IN THE BATTER!!! SO, WE ARLEADY HAVE BEEN EATING BUGS & DIDN"T KNOW IT!!!
Thanks
I used to buy the microwave popcorn once in a while from Aldi and it was a $1.69 now it is $4.99.
Thanks for doing the work for us to keep us in the know! You are appreciated.
You always make me laugh. I love you humor. Have a awesome day😊
I've noticed with wet cat food, the ounces are the same but the amount of pate is smaller and there is more liquid. I think that's what they're doing with all canned goods.
Love your channel and thank you for all your hard work, so we can good information
This Is Good Patara, Keeping Up With Prices Helps Everyone Regardless What They Buy, You Are Talking About Basic Items Most People Buy, Also, The Items Have Shrunk And This Is What's Crazy! Have A Beautiful Day My Friend!
😂 you crack me up! "Where are the Crickets?" I love Aldi and have not found any there either!!!
Thank you for all your hard work. Yes I only got sale prices or I don't buy it. You are a blessing. Add spam went from 2.29 To 3.89 a can. Thank You love you.
Not sure when the package size changed, but the Eckrich smoked sausage is now only 14 oz instead of 16 oz
I keep my eye on the price of salsa at Aldi. We go through a lot of it, but I consider it almost as important as beans and rice. If I had to go through months of beans and rice, imma gonna want some salsa on the beans and rice at least from time to time, plus it’s just vegetables so a healthy addition.
Love these real life videos! Thank you!
That’s so cool that you take the time to do this price comparison with the bazillion things you have to do at your farm. Thank you!,
Thank you!
I appreciate the work you put into this. I'm so glad you and James have each other. Lots of love and respect there.
Be sure to checkout Aldi flour ingredients before buying.
I check out all labels-
Ive bout give up on buying can food. All ya get is water and a sprinkle of slat in it anyway 😆
