Three hunters in a forest discover that they have trapped a demon - Dark Link! An epic battle ensues as they try to prevent the murderous demon from reaching their village. The elder clansman gathers his mana and casts a beacon in to the sky, hoping to summon Link to save them.

I love how at 2:19 Dark Link mimicked Link's movements, as afterwards Link noticed it and looked concerned and puzzled, he really is Link's shadow. Nice attention to detail!

+@@sandwichking6180 There's not really a main antagonist in Zelda II. Dark Link is used as a final test for Link by the king of Hyrule; I'm guessing to see if he's truly worthy. The main *threat* would technically be all the monsters over the area because they're all out for Link's blood so they can revive Ganon

To those whom say that Zelda can't be a film or TV show, here is the proof that it can be done.
I agree. It could be an incredible movie. Can't be done? Look at Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit, or the Avengers for instance.
It can be done, but story was never Zelda's strong point.
Solid Snack What are you talking about? Each game built an entire world! I would hold "A Link To The Past", "Ocarina Of Time", and even "Link's Awakening" as better stories than some games we get now. There's enough story in these games alone for an entire TV show.
BigGator5 What I'm talking about is these games are made gameplay first, story after. A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time have very generic stories. Link's Awakening's story is pretty crazy but it can be summed up in a few sentences. The stories in Zelda are fun to EXPERIENCE, not when they're told. Could they make a good adaption? Sure. Out of all the video games that could be adapted, is this the one I want? Not so much.

I love how dark link's attack strategy is so different from Original Link's in the beginning. keeping the shield on his back to cover himself and using the sword for front defense thanks to his reflexes and skills. and instead of tacking them on with his sword up close, he decided to fight them with his bow.
I was waiting for the old guy to yell "you shall not pass" and beat the crap out of dark link.

The amount of awesome in this video is too damn high.
I came back to this after a long time... Just because. I still love this little short. And I noticed for the first time in years just how expertly done this story is. I love how neither of the Links say a word, but they still do a great job at conveying emotions, like when Link noticed Dark Link is basically him and the look of confusion on his face. It was a really great animation that still has rewatchability today.
Its 2019 and this is still a masterpiece and makes lots of sense is you have played breath of the wild

Nostalgia anyone? This was amazing for its' time and still holds a candle to today. Very well done, and I still come back to watch it every week or so to gain motivation for Legend of Zelda again.
was half expecting the old man to take the sword and hide it in a cave, where he would await a new hero of the land to come along so that he would speak his last words.... "...it is dangerous to go alone..." thus starting a new era.
There are two mistakes here:
1) shadow link won't attack other people, in zelda ii, he was created from link's shadow to challenge link, his purpose is to decide if link is worthy to receive the triforce and awake zelda; dark link is an evil entity (like demons) created to complete ganon's purposes (like phantom ganon) dark link is different from shadow link
2) link, dark link and shadow link are left handed

I get the feeling this was one of multiple search parties that had flares to signal capable fighters to stop dark link. Plus there were more men arriving aside from Link, meaning there were several parties. :P

Idk about you but Link has always been a badass.Just because he does not have a M rating does not make him a badass i mean he is a badass in all the LOZ series ive played except the Nintendo Ds games like windwaker they make him look weak.

Even more, the gameplay in the legend of zelda games always has been the strong point.
Honestly, they just need to have good gameplay and make it realistically eery like Majora's Mask with at least double the story and lore hidden away than in majora's mask. If you don't understand what I mean by hidden away, look at dark souls for example. Just about all of the lore is hidden in item descriptions and LoZ had the stones and seemingly 'pointless' dialogue moments.
