Bell casting: a centuries-old craft

- The oldest Austrian family business is situated in Innsbruck (Tyrol): Since 1599, bells and works of art made of bronze have been cast by the GRASSMAYR bell foundry.
But the Grassmayers are by no means dusty or old-fashioned. To compete against international rivals and cheap bell production companies, they are constantly on the lookout for the "Stradivarius among bells". Thus, they combine traditional craftsmanship with innovative technology: and so, the old family recipe for the bell material is used as well as heat-resistant protective clothing from aerospace research.

Love this.. I in love with bells. African churches need church bells. I need THREE of them
I love bells just for bells :3 no religious reasons. I want a nice bell like this but in handbell size. I saw one before, ornate wooden handle and the bell was made of a thick metal that produced a loud nice sounding clang almost like a steam train.

It’s exquisitely befitting that horse dung is used to make the clay that results in religious artifacts. It’s a perfect metaphor.

I would disagree it is more about preparing and storing resources. after all, people keep gold pieces and do nothing with them, and here at least you can enjoy the music

@@1973Washu It's still a church bell. I just see it as a waste of material, churches should be torn down. Religions should be all illegal. Imagine world without religion, would be a lot less death or at least another lie to kill over.
Nothing like the sound of big bells I love them very much.
