Syberia is THE best point-n-click adventure game, point blank period. Anybody who played the first one knows exactly what I mean, the story by B.Sokal is just fabulous, slowly but surely melts the players' hearts...and tear ducts too!
This was legit the only game that made my heart pound with excitement every time I played it. It is just so captivating, plus the visuals and the musical arrangement are just perfect.

Oh, played with my mum too .. Мои наилучшие воспоминания о играх моего детства. Часто переигрываю эту игру и нахожу новые секреты и тонкости этой игры. Одна из лучших игр человечества.
Kate's story is so underrated, and relatable at the same time. She's just an average woman with an average life who gets the chance to change completely her existence. She has a strong personality and she eventually finds the strenght to leave her old life and the people who "loved" her behind. I honestly hope we will get a conclusion to her story, because it would be such a shame not continuing it given her background.
Yeah. I love how her character slowly comes to self-realization. The way she got involved in Hans' journey, the moment when she broke up with Dan realizing that their so called love wasn't real, and the moment she admitted that the life she was living until now and which everyone thought was good for her, wasn't the life she really wanted - those are the things that beautifuly portray the contrast between what society demands from someone and the true desires of a person. Also I kinda like the scene in Syberia 2 where Kate has to abandon the cart of the train with all her belongings inside. I feel like it symbolises that she fully accepted that she discarded her old life and an affirmation of her true feelings after the ending of Syberia 1. I apologize for all my grammatical, or ortographical errors. I'm from Poland but I really wanted to share my opinion on the matter.
My favourite theme from this game, and the most rememberable. I played this game with my dead grandpa and my mother when I was like idk 3 or 5? So like 10 years ago, and I still remember everything. I'll have to replay it one day. Well, I made it thru almost all games, played over Syberia and Syberia 2 a lot. I finished Syberia 3 only once, but I remember it very well. Now I'm ending playing Syberia: The World Before, which still has the perfect feel of Syberia, music is great in this game about a pianist, but it still won't touch my heart as much as Syberia 1 or 2 made me ever. I'm not joking, I was crying on both of these endings, and I still want to cry when I see them.
I still play and suggest my friends to play this amazing game, to these days! I believe that there used to be more caring for details in older games. In this game the soundtracks are amazing! They really contributed to make this game special, on top of the great story, the places (oh my god Barrockstadt) and the gameplay itself.
An incredibile and magical adventure i will never forget. It will always remain in my memories and in my hearth. The music that accompanies you throughout the journey is awesome.
I keep coming back to this soundtrack and every time I find it very... hopeful. Somehow Valadilene will be part of my childhood forever, and each time I hear this music or launch the game for even 30 minutes, I feel that everything will be ok.
Why don’t they do games like this anymore? Full of emotion and great things to discover if you are clever enough to figure it all out. RIP Monsieur Sokal -you gave me momentum ❤️
They still do them, who say they don't? They just released a new Syberia last year. Besides that, there's lot's of great games every year with a huge emphasis on emotion and discovery.
@@aidrijah Well, there are many great games, so many I don't know which one to begin with. If you are looking for a game that's "full of emotion and great things to discover", I'd say something like Outer Wilds. You explore a solar system looking for answers about the beginning and death of the universe as well as about a lost ancient civilization. If you're looking for something more streamlined and cinematic, more focused in talking to people and less in raw exploration and survival, I'd say The Forgotten City. It's about you being teleported to the roman era and trying to solve a mystery involving a divine punishment (and time loops). On the same line, I'd say Life is Strange too. It's about a girl coming back to her hometown and trying to reconcile with her old friends while trying to solve a mystery involving missing girls. Very similar to that is Oxenfree, with more of a horror vibe involving ghosts while not actually being a horror game. Lastly, a bit older but if what you love about Syberia is that nostalgic feeling and wholesome, hopeful ending, I'd recommend all games made by Cing for the Nintendo DS and the wii: the Hotel Dusk and Another Code series. Another Code 1(DS) and 2(Wii) will be getting a remake for the switch next month. Those are about a girl looking for her missing father while also uncovering a mystery involving the death of her mother and scientific experiments (If I recall correctly, I played those many years ago). Hotel Dusk, on the other hand, is about a broken man looking for his ex-partner (they were cops) staying one night in a hotel were everyone has their own struggles. I hope you found what you were looking for
A true pieces of art and magic the first and second game are. Beñoit Sokal - the Force is strong with this one. P.S. I just realized he passed away this year. Rip, Monsieur Sokal. You'll be remembered.
This music reminds me Wagner. Sometimes I played Syberia like I was living another life, looking for something that I'm not sure it exists, like the Graal. Maybe it was just the meaning of my life. Everything's so confused...
A game with an incredible sound score, amazing worldbuilding, an engaging and mysterious plot, charismathic secondary characters, led by a strong female character who doesn't need to be rescued and her special characteristic is to come up with creative ways in order to achieve her goal, without having to defeat a moustache twirling villain and overcoming all the obstacles in her way and in the end decides to pursue a larger adventure? Hell yes count me in! Instant classic.
This is the most nostalgic music. What a pity that it is impossible to return to that self-perception. Relive it all. It is a pity that Siberia is not the same, I hope that it will not be abandoned, that it will be returned ... These feelings ..
I am not a gamer and I don't like playing pubg, minecraft and roblox type any games. But this game is the best game I ever played in my life😇 Thank you Beñoit Sokal for giving us a splendid and wonderful childhood memories😌
Varley and Bodiansky are geniuses. I first met their music in "The Ocean of Origins", where they somehow managed to translate perfectly the Cambrian Explosion, life invading land in the Devonian, fighting megafauna in the Cretaceous, &c into music. Every part of Syberia is crafted to perfection, but the result would not be as breathtaking as it is without this soundtrack.
I started this game years ago. I was staying at a winter hotel in the mountains, at that time. It felt amazing playing Syberia. So atmospheric, so warm...
I´m playing Thief and Syberia 3 right now, and I fell so in love with the opening music !! (and with Kate, shes my kind of type^^)...as a singer and musician I had goosebombs and almost tear up ! Great soundtrack while playing aswell !
A lot of memories here. I played Syberia 1 when it was a new game, I remeber it totally stuned me. I wanted to visit that world. This was I think the best game I ever played. Time to time I dream of some building like greenhouse or big train station, I forgot what it could mean until yesterday, when I installed Syberia 1 after 20 years... When I saw the Valadilene trainstation I literaly stopped breathing, this is exactly the building I am dreaming of many years... I will be 40 this year and I still want to move to Valadilene.
