The irony of the Duke Power ad is that most of their target audience would not have the ability to hear those beeps from bedlam. Also, did dentists give kids “report cards” in the 80s like implied in the Crest ad? I first went to the dentist in 1994 and I don’t remember receiving anything like that.
Does anyone know who did the V.O. for the ABC Sunday Night Movie bumpers? He did a ton of V.O. work for ABC. Those AT&T ads sure take me back...long distance calls were pretty expensive back in the day, when I worked for the telephone company, the old timers told me back before the breakup the average was 25¢ a minute, in 1980!
+Naminski Nguyen No. This 1984 TV edit is unique to this broadcast. The 1998 Collector's Edition edit still excises the scene with Dreyfuss' character at the power station from the original Theatrical release and also removed the scene inside the mothership added in the Special Edition. The 1984 TV edit includes both.
It's big with the Midwest folks too, the Amish and the Shakers swear by it . While visiting my grandparents in Iowa as a kid I was forced to try it , and rather liked it. I still do it on the rare occasion I have apple pie and good cheddar in the house at the same time
The man and woman in that Campbell's Soup commercial are in some shows, but can't remember their names. He is for sure.
Yeah, ur right
Pretty sure the woman in the Campbell’s Soup ad is Jennifer Hetrick. She appeared in a couple of Star Trek TNG episodes.
@@Paganomation I believe you're correct. She also looks just like Stana Katic from Castle, it's eerie.
Perfect way to start off the weekend! Thanks!

The late, great Ernie Anderson was the V/O
the ABC Movie was Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind..wonder if it was the Special Edition version
It was actually a hybrid of the original theatrical release and the 1980 special edition, retaining everything from both.

6:15 "Ho-*Ho*!"
That Geoff Pierson in the Campbell's ad.
Street Hawk looks very 1984. Why were '80s motorbikes so cool?
@3:59 I love cheese...but on apple pie?? lol
It's a New England/Northeast thing, and used to be more common.

Geoffrey Holder was another of many passing notables this year
That's Nicollette Sheridan in the no nonsense pantyhose commercial.
Geoffrey Holder r.I.p
