Tarte Mermaid Makeup vs Too Faced Festival Collection!

- I was sent the Tarte 'Be a Mermaid & Make Waves' Mer-Makeup Collection and the Too Faced 'Life's a Festival' Collection recently and with Coachella this weekend I wanted to do a side by side comparison of the products by attempting the same look with each brand on either side of my face! I have seen sooooo many tutorials using these collections and felt like they were for the most part “tacky” and juvenile looking. This look is freaking GORGEous, chic, high end and editorial! It’s a gorgeous look just for summer too! I’ve had no interest in either collections because they did feel gimmicky, but girl you slayed this!!
Christy Tomlinson - I refuse to feel shame. I ADORE rainbow and have utterly adored my life’s a festival palette since I bought it and have used it a bunch. People compliment me almost every time I wear it. Edited: that came out defensive. I was aiming for funny and very happy.

Both sides look really pretty hun. The tarte glitter over the liner looks stunning. Kinda over the unicorn theme, companies r wringing that trend dry😂😂😂
I definitely like the tarte side better! For me it looked more cohesive even though it wasn’t a full collection, and I’m sure you can make those shadow even more with different brushes and wetting them 😊
I found the tarte shadows (the metallics anyway) perform better on top of a glitter glue
When you can't decide whether you prefer outer space or under water, do like Chloe and do both a mermaid makeup AND space buns!

I remember when the old two faced owner poster your unicorn tears photo and he DIDNT EVEN TAG YOU like it was a bombbbbb photo and you didn’t even get your recognition! Ridiculous you’re basically the reason it sold out! I am in love your channel, I actually believe your recommendations rather than other influencers as they get payed.... ♥️♥️♥️
Why didn’t u use the shape tape as eyeshadow primer? Better than nothin. Many use it as eyeshadow primer. Maybe your shadows woulda popped more on that side. Awesome look tho from both. Cool idea.

Strangely, I think all the Too Faced shadows looked better and looked as if they went on better

I loved the Tarte side more as well... But both looked really fun!
I hate all the unicorn theme and packaging - it's overdone at this point and looks super childish to me so I definitely like the Tarte side better! The eyeliner and lashes were so cool and I love the packaging for the eyeshadow palette. The brushes are cute but they look like they would be bulky to store. Those lashes for real though are giving me vibes so I hope you pack those lol!
Imo the eyeshadow look of toofaced was better but the ey liner of tarte was better

I adore my too faced life’s a festival palette. I’ve worn it (or parts of it) in most of my eye makeup looks since I bought it.
I liked too faced shadows and tarte face products :)

Okay I'm a makeup lover but these mermaid/unicorn collections just don't look appealing to me... Is it just me ? I don't know, it kinda looks like kids makeup.. well until you actually try it out and of course, it looks amazing on you haha ! As always Chlo 😋💄💘

Two faced eye and highlighters are gorgeous, the tarte lip, and topper and eyeliner and glitter is better... Tarte packaging and brushes are so extra! Mix it up and look amazing!

tarte's colors are more sophisticated. But I think Too Faced has some nice highlighting colors, more variety but still theyre more like toppers, accent colors or highlighters :/ Now TF packaging is horrendous. Bulky, cheap looking, childish, like its made in china. Tarte's palette is stunning, smthg id like to own. Tarte's transition shades are far better too. TF is releasing so much random, "fun" looking, but pretty useless stuff thats supposed to appeal to the very young ones - makes them appear desperate to grab money from anything catchy.

This was so much fun to watch - full of positivity and excitement to try new things! AND really thorough. I feel like most of the UA-camrs I watch wouldn’t have bothered to try all the more unusual products here, and acted like they were pointless.
I was SO torn between these two palettes when I was looking for a little something special for Easter for my middle schooler, but decided on the Unicorn palette and Angel Tears gloss. She loves the palette, but I think would have gotten much more out of the mermaid one. I wish I had gotten her the angel lipstick instead of the gloss because she isn't a huge fan of the texture either.

I'm glad that bright colors are popular right now. I enjoy the Tarte packaging. Would prefer larger eye shadows or rectangle shapes to easier pick up the color.
