I have a 2023 alliance paradigm 385fl. My wife and I absolutely love this rv and we live in it full-time we've had it since may of 23. So 10 months now. 0 regrets.
2017 Ford F350 6.7 king ranch dually with tow / camper package. On some trips I also have my 17 lifted F150 4x4 on tow dollly behind 5th wheel. 82 ft bumper to bumper and about 34,000 lbs. The dually pulls with 0 issues. Wish I could add a picture here.
Your truck can pull it, but it will probably seem a little sketchy at times. I definitely prefer the dually for safety and stability. The 385fl is (mine is) 14886 lbs new and completely EMPTY. Put all your stuff in it and your looking at around 16,000 lbs. A single tire will be maxed out or a bit overweight. The 385fl is heavy but pulls really, really good
I love this floor plan! That extra storage is phenomenal! I love the half bath. A couple of things I would change are to put the tv on a televator and have a front windshield. I would also love to see a front office/craft room as I am an avid quilter and would love to have a dedicated space for my sewing machine.
You are right about it being designed for full-timers - it’s darn near perfect! My pet peeves in RV’s are nowhere to be found in this unit. Here are my thoughts: 1. The powder room: while it is a tad close, IT’S AN RV, PEOPLE! If you want 1.5 baths in a fifth wheel, where do you put it otherwise? As I said, I agree it’s a tad close, but waaaaaaay better than when they swapped the powder room and the steps. THEN it was too close, as you could stir a pot on the stove while being ‘indisposed’. 2. My biggest pet peeve is floor registers, so a HUGE thank you for not doing that! I am happy to pay a bit extra to have the P.Eng. figure out how to run them in cabinetry. 3. I DARE anyone to say there isn’t enough storage in this baby! I love it! I could picture where all my kitchen appliances and gadgets that I want to take would go (of course, I NEED my garlic roaster, Hubby!) LOL 4. You mentioned that the pull-out sofas were just two seaters rather than the typical three, Myles. I would be willing to bet that is sufficient for most people. As there is only one full-time designated place to sleep, this rig is geared towards singles or couples. That is loads of indoor seating. 5. The new colour scheme: I love it! It feels modern, while still keeping that earthy, nature-inspired palette. 6. The bedroom has loads of space for clothing, shoes, jewelry, etc. I have to admit that I am not a fan of the EXTREMELY plain bedspread. That colour, without any texture or design, just seems so drab. I would definitely change that out and zjoosh up the bedroom a bit more. I think it would really add charm to it to not only change out that bedspread, but add rods with soft and gauzey curtains to the window. Just because we have been married for almost 40 years doesn’t mean I want my bedroom to look like a monastery, which unfortunately, is the vibe it currently has. 7. Of course I’d make a few small decor choices such as throw pillows, plants, area rugs, etc., but that’s just standard stuff I think. To explain it better, these choices are like adding makeup or jewelry to your look; not having plastic surgery, if that makes sense. I wish we were retiring now instead of just another few years because I love this rig, but I will remain hopeful that the rigs are even better then! Thanks Myles!
Me and my wife and two small dogs absolutely love our 2023 385fl. We sold our house and everything we had. We full-time live and travel for work. Traveling Union Crane Operator. Left out last June and have 0 regrets.
I like the half bath. When you are spending a lot of time outdoors, the point of camping for me, then you can just cone in and pee quick. Guests don't have to go through your bedroom to go to the bathroom
Not a fan of half baths especially so close to the main bathroom. To me I would take it out and use it for a pantry since this model is limited on kitchen storage
I like everything about this unit except that 2nd bathroom. To me, it's a waste of space. Would rather see the space be a place to hang jackets, store boots and shoes with shelving for pantry items and bigger countertop appliances such as a mixer, air fryer, bread maker, etc. It would make a great Butler's pantry with one side for coats, a place for umbrella, etc.
I full-time in my 385fl and I can tell you the half bath is great. If you have friends over and outside grilling and drinking. People only need to step just inside and not go through the bedroom. Also great (if a couple) when you "gotta go NOW" and your partner is in the main bathroom. It's also great place to keep brooms and mops. We love the 385fl
Really like the new layout of this model. All that storage outside would be nice for full time living. I love the idea of the half bath right at the door so you don’t have to travel all the way in when camping to use it.
😂Carolyn Nutter reside in Wilkes-Barre PA and I'm in love there is storage galore and that half bathe and fireplace storage exceptionally well done ❤❤❤
Love this floor plan! The half bath is fine with me. Would like to see the tv on a televator with a windshield in front. Would also like to see a front office/ front living in the future!
Finally a 5th wheel that has everything I’m looking for! Except the back view a rear den would provide. I think the half bathroom is much better where it is and I love that the 2nd bathroom is so spacious and private. Why don’t they make the doors to the shower open on the other side to allow more room to get in and out??
I like most of the layout but where do you put the cat box? . Would like to see another axel. I understand weight distribution but these longer units need that extra support in my opinion. Coming from a professional driver. slight concern about how far the waste would come to reach the dump. That slide tray could hold a kayak... colors are okay . I like the 1/2 bath. Bedroom okay would like a queen bed.
You are the third person to mention the cat box, I am glad that more people are mentioning this. My guess is that RV companies do not think people will bring their cats with them.. Cats are FAMILY! 😻
What is that silver kunk by the wheels when you were talking about fractures and welding? Looks like it needed repairs already? Lol I like the color scheme of the interior. Like seeing a decent size stove in there. I don't like the half bath. Just make it Extra storage. I don't like the legless tables. Glad you can take it out. Love the front Livingroom entertainment center. There is such a thing as too many windows. I like the idea of looking out but hate the feeling that ppl can easily look in.
The half bath in that location works for me. I do like the layout. What I don’t like is the full bath countertop and the shower pattern. Whew. Clashes bad in my opinion. And it’s not like you can change it easily like bedding. I actually like the counter but a non or less patterned shower tub would help that
Interesting Floorplan! LOVE the Living Room and Bedroom! The half bath is Meh (tho Love that it has one) and while I Like the Epoxy countertops in the bathrooms I Do Not care for That particular Color! I wish it matched the color on the Shower surround. Thanks for Another Entertaining and Informative RV Tour!
What is housed under the bench? It says, "Smart Wire." I don't remember what that is, though I'm sure I've seen it in other videos. I'm curious about how much space is left for storage under that bench.
Imagine how amazing these RVs could be if full time RV moms designed 100% of an RV. I’m working on a new degree so I can hopefully come into this industry and shake shit up in a good way. My designs will be stylish, affordable and the layouts and storage will be on point.
@@laura18093 Right! They make built in dog bowls in very inconvenient places too. It’s silly. I traveled full time with 4 kids, 2 dogs and a cat…….. plus, I’m disabled. I have real world experience, with unique circumstances. I know what families need and are looking for. We remodeled our first RV to fit what we needed. Part of that was converting a portion of one outside storage unit into a cat box area. There was a tunnel that ran behind the kitchen bench along the bed wall to the storage bay. The best part was that we cleaned the cat box from outside. No litter ever got in the RV, nor did a smell.
@@mommasonthemove9144 wow I understand as I cannot use the steps so I am looking at toy haulers. Just a bit expensive. The added space for the cat box and his 7.5 ft. Cat tree/condo will fit nicely in the garage area. Would like to adopt a GSD. I agree on the dog bowl as well. I like what you have done with the cat box conversion. I must say you are innovative. Excited to see what you do to the industry. They need to get out of the box 😹.
@@laura18093 I love your play on words. I laughed too hard. 😹😹😹😹😹😹 I love toyhaulers, and have ideas for those as well. Lol As for the steps, I agree. They are sneaky little boogers. I fell down my 5th wheel steps several times and broke my ankle twice. I have ideas to make RVs more accessible for those that are disabled, much like myself. It’s sad that we get overlooked. I have several disabled veteran friends that would love to travel but they don’t have many options.
I really want this without the island kitchen .keep the kitchen in the middle of the RV, leave that 1/2 bath right where it is now and add a Dishwasher somewhere! perfecto!
Need 3 seat couches I have tall sons. No 1/2 bath but pantry. No Dinette but a bar to work from. We rarely use our dinette except for the cats like it.
Wow! I loved the second bathroom. They need to move that half bath somewhere else and that would be perfect. Then they could add more cabinets above every window in every tip out and a lot more medicine cabinets in the bathroom itself. It is beautiful, and I love the presentation!
Am I mistaken, but when that middle slide is out you won't be able to open the door all the way back to put the stairs up, on the side of the stairs will catch on the side of the door if it not closed all the way back. Oh, but I like the bathroom in that location better. For a 5th wheel that size I would want a 3500 dually to tow something like that, I really love that floorplan I would buy that today if I could.
The 1/2 bath is a must, but I think it should not be 1) smack at the front door; and 2) open right into the kitchen - it better have a POWERFUL MAGIC fan that lifts odors to outer space
I personally wouldn’t mind seeing it in the space going up the stairs to the living room (where the Keurig center currently sits). Instead of making that a 1/2 wall, make it a full wall with a 1/2 bath and either ditch the Keurig space (*clutches pearls*) or move it elsewhere because there’s absolutely nothing wrong with an anointed cup of Jireh Java.
My cat is part GSD. They take up less room as well. I have noticed a very slow acknowledgement of them by some of the UA-camr's. I see cats in many of the videos now. So far no one is addressing the entrance adaptations for those who need assistance in entering their Rv's. This needs to change.
I can agree with that, except dont get caught up on the inside, and loving it, going to buy it, and then learn later that realistically its to big for your truck, cause we all know that RV dealers will always tell you that your fine pulling it! Because, if you have a 3/4 ton, this is WAY more trailer than you should tow!
