Brilliant conclusion to a great series of videos. Just shows what can be done with an enthusiastic and competant crew and a superbly restored and maintained loco.
Watched 'em all Ralph and a great set of videos they are showing the loco and crew at their best. Superb on train footage with brilliantly captured sound. I reckon we're all pleased this trip was a success whatever our personal favourites may be. Chris
Ralph, what a way to finish this magical days filming, absolutely stunning throughout, you must be so proud of recording this memorable event, and your camera work throughout these uploads has been exemplary...Thanks again...Bob
Ralph, great video. She looked in fine form and was peforming very well as usual. You even got me on film!! I was on the far platform filming her coming through Leyland - sadly my effort was very poor due to lack of light and it only caught the bright lights of the carriages. A bit of a novice really. Many thanks anyway for a great vid and my 15 mins(5 secs) of fame!! Regards Dave.
What a truely great engine (i'm biased, my favourite)why would anyone look at diesels when they can feast on such action. that was a good 4 part show really worth seeing, thankyou for letting us all see it
@khankadet Thanks Chris, it was a great day out and just shows what a well prepared and well crewed loco can do. I do believe though that it was a first time for Peter Walket who drove northbound, and also that Mick Kelly is not actually an expert on GW locos, no doubt there was some input from the owners rep on the footplate.
@AndreiTupolev Thanks Andrei, I could not believe my luck when I first saw those lights and realised we were castching it..... Evening and night shots do have something special..
@rosegrovempd1 Thanks Dave, 5043 had performed well all day and is a credit to the tean who have rebuilt her. Videoing at night from stations can result in some spectacular shots but you do need a camera that works reasonably well in low light and it helps if the station is also well lit.
A super 4 part film from a passenger's side of the tour.
Thank you for sharing Ralph.
Jeff

Castle versus Sprinter; no contest.
Breathtaking shots with the light from the firebox on the smoke.

Great series of videos Ralph. I think it's safe to say that the Pride of Swindon has been recovered!

@howarth004 Thanks, it's surprising what you can get on video in low light conditions.
@acw71000 Thanks Austin, as you can imagine I'm quite happy with the results.
