Question: In old residential apartments where pipelines are not properly planned to facilitate fixing of meters in each flat, what are considerations and approach to install electronic meters. Also does market have electronic meters which push software updates automatically, reducing the effort to replace them to upgrade?

Rakesh: In today’s market, the cost of clamp-on ultrasonic meters are probably more costly than hiring a good plumbing contractor to install a reliable in-line mechanical or electronic meter. Also, some AMI endpoints may have the ability to push upgrades sent wirelessly from the headend system to electronic meters via the wired connection. Thanks for your feedback.

30 unit condo, 4 stories high, will a 2" meter do the job, we have 3" now with 3" lines into the buildings.
