I feel like she's so underrated as a vocalist. Everyone always talks about Ailee, IU, Taeyeon as like amazing vocalists, which they are don't get me wrong, I love them! But I think Hyolyn deserves a lot more appreciation not only for her vocals but for breaking barriers in K-pop. She continues to be herself and is comfortable wearing whatever she wants, and it sucks that half the idols have to put on this facade to be someone who they're not. AND Hyolyn is one hell of a dancer.
I'm still trying to figure out who had the better voice on the live Ailee - Hyolyn duet video "Let it Snow", So .... yeah.
coolgirl123452 she’s not underrated, tayeon etc are legends that’s why they’re being talked more. Like for example apink eunji everyone knows she’s a talented vocalis, she’s talked just like hoyloyn. Dally is a MAJOR bop
She's extremely popular when she was in SISTAR, literally the most popular member. But right after she went solo and SISTAR disbanded, she suddenly became an underrated singer. I just couldn't understand like how tf that thing happened so fast. When a group member is popular, even tho her group got disbanded, she's still supposed to be popular.

HER BULLYING CASE ANGERED THE KOREANS THAT’S WHY
Korea never really liked SISTAR, they only like their songs because **SUMMER**, but every time they appeared in a show it was all full of hate comments. I'm a STAR1 myself but I can tell SISTAR fandom is sooooo damn small, mainly in korea, and their fans are almost all women, they're not korea man style, what drags more hate. So that's why they hate them even more now they're disbanded.
S i a h totally agree. They are not popular (individually or as a group) but their songs are. I won a spot at their fansign events 2 times by just having purchased 4 cds for each event (I heard that for popular groups, you have to buy more than 50 cds to get a spot). Hyolyn is my bias. She deserves to be as popular as IU, Taeyeon, Ailee.
Because someone in her high school exposed her online, described how she bullied others. I cannot say this is the only reason but I think it plays a big part of it.

There is actually 2 versions of Let It Go, one sung by the Korean voice actress of Elsa, and the other "pop" full version by Hyorin.
Its basically mirroring the English version; original in-movie sung by Idina Menzel and a "pop" version by Demi Lovato (Demi Lovato's verison is played at the start of the credits)

I found out about the backstory to her stomach tattoo and I just want to say that it looks good on her; she didnt get it for tacky reasons, she got it to cover up a surgical scar. Also I notice a trend in Korea is that Korean fans and netizens are fickle and they may like an idol or group for a period of time and after they disband, they move on to newer groups and the solo acts get forgotten.

I checked why she gets hate on that performance.
1. Hwasa did it in a concert in a huge arena while Hyolin did it in a prestigious event in a very small event place.
2. Hwasa and her group are always invited to perform drama award but they're outfits is not revealing like they used to. Same goes with other groups like Sistar when they get to perform on a Drama award.
3. Hyolin pick a different audience and event to do it.
4. There's nothing wrong with her outfits. You will clearly see the reactions of each actors and actresses that they we're smiling and cheering for her 1st song and there smiling faces became dark when the 2nd song played.
Then why cardi b and megan thee stallion got hate for performing one song in Grammy's by Americans .

I can tell you what happened. Hyolyn did and stood for the non norm. She was darker skinned, got tattoos, she was went against your standards of beauty. She’s overlooked as a vocalist, producer, writer and over all as a artist. It’s really sad that all she’s know is for sexy when hands down she’s arguably one of the best and well rounded vocalist to come out of Korea. Tbh she carried a good portion of Sistar. Starship continuously OVERLOOKED HYOYLN’s artistry. She wanted a hand in her own work. She wanted to use her creativity to make the music she wanted and all Starshit sees her as a vocalist. So she packed her shit and doing her own thing and working hard. Even though people are still overlooking her artistry, her time will come once again to outshine all of everyone with her and her team.

Unpopular Opinion: Objectively speaking, Hyolyn is the most well-rounded KPOP idol by far. She's a technically skilled vocalist, improved her dancing so hard that she can be main dancer, and a decent rapper somehow. Your faves cannot match this one, so stay pressed.

what happened is that she had a scandal, her past schoolmate accused her of bullying an released the whole story on internet. She was already in the past accused of things like this. People discovered how she was in the past. She made mistakes in the past as a teenager, but she asked for forgiveness, although the victim didn't accept it, she is human after all...she changed, she has such a potential musically speaking, I don't want her talent to be wasted... :(

They want beauty than quality, they value background than anything else. they criticize other for their looks n size, forcing to look slim or surgery. they don't mind skirts n shorts but same time have problem with ass choreography. I don't know what kind of message they want to give to people. We can't call them narrow minded since they are really forward in every aspect but they make rules as per their benefits. I'm really worried rather than be ur self n love urself they are giving message to go for only outer beauty
