- It's time to prioritize your winnings. It's okay to be a fan of an artist but make sure your supporting your career more than theirs.

I’m so deep into being a consumer.. it has had me so stagnant in me creating
Consumer with UR TIME; OR MONEY? Time is the most valuable currency, and I've been guilty of it myself..
So do u consume on social media with ur time or in real life wit ur money?
This is so deep... This doesn't even apply to music, it can be video games, chasing women, anything- I overcame this for the most part, but I have to legit remember this every day
Aye bra you preaching fareal
I agree 1000%. I don't even share other big artists' music, they're already big. I share my music & my dawgs' music. We're still trying to make it, I'm not giving up space on my social media to other nIggas who already made it. It ain't no hating, it's just the truth.
I would argue and say it depends on the intention of going. If you’re trying to be an inspiring artist yourself, going to that concert could definitely shoot your inspiration levels through the roofs and and urge you to grind even harder to get to Drake’s level and have that same feeling. Many people from athletes to artists have had their full circle moments from fan to star because of those experiences of being that close to inspiration. What I do agree with about being a producer over consumer is that you definitely should be focusing on putting your brand first always and not others you’re fans of.... I stopped sharing my fav rappers updates on my insta stories like “Kanye’s album dropping soon!” Or “Yo Kendrick just dropped a dope track” etc ... definitely STOP doing this people. Support by listening to their music privately but if you’re trying to build your brand and be an artist yourself , you need to share and promote only your brand
If you're saying inspiration as in going to an artist's concert to study their show in the live environment then that's a valid investment, but we both know that's not what I'm talking about.
Now let's address the other form of inspiration too (just in case people are confused)...
Inspiration in the for of "encouragement"...because some people misunderstand and take it that way....
It's easy to get inspired but it can only be justified for so long without making the actual decisions that move you forward. There's so much documentation of artists that you can watch online to get inspired for free.
If going to that concert doesn't keep you from being able to invest in actual progress/improvement then by all means, go get that extra shot of investment. The success-failure gap is built between people who default to action and those who default to shots of inspiration. A very slippery slope.
Facts, why would you care about someone else’s career more than yours? I can’t believe being a fan has trumped being invested in yourself
Honestly yes, there comes a point where I don’t want to attend another festival unless I’m in the lineup. If you want others to see you that way you have to see yourself that way. The 1% does not operate like the 99%! I appreciate you speaking on this I honestly would not be the artist I am today without your content 🌟
I’ve made so much sacrifices these last 2 years and it really got me somewhere. At the end of the day you need to set your priorities straight and if that’s isn’t chilling with friends and going on vacation, then drop that bro
Focus on the grind
Man I’ve invested so much in my music career so far. Courses on mixing, mastering, songwriting, marketing, & filming, equipment…Still a long way to go, but I have no regrets
This is money right here !!! I think a lot of artists romanticize the idea of being an artist so much that they get side tracked into everything BUT their own careers!!!
this is really it!
I got scared for a second, I thought the video would be about not getting caught supporting other fellow artists 😅 luckily it wasn’t, this video makes a great point.
freedom > fandom this is such an important mindset shift
Damn dude. This is real. Feels like you saw right through me
This video right here was for me. Thanks for making me judge myself Brandman 😂
Lol. No problem
He's absolutely right, I blew 70 grand last year partying trying to look rich in front of promoters and djs, chasing after too many bad bitches, and have nothing to show for it. Then when I went broke everybody stopped answering there phones. So now I been back slowly on the grind, I ain't been partying I stopped answering fake people's phone calls, been saving my money and making strategic moves to see how I'm a invest the money and making making that hit record to elevate me to the next level
MANNNN SHOW EM WHATS UP. That sounds like a valueable lesson learned , best of luck on your journey!
And now your bragging on UA-cam comments 😂 you haven’t learned jack
Whew wow, I definitely needed this drag. Thank you 😭🙏🏽
yeah so much true in this one... felt myself holding a mirror up to myself the whole way through this video... thank you for the insight and catalyst for change!
I do see value in attending a live performance. From a business lens it could give you inspiration for your own brand or live show. But he's compleyely right, don't spend your money invest it
When I was in Las Vegas, I ended up being at a club that had a surprise live show from RL Grime. One of the best experiences I have ever had, but it inspired me so much because it showed what I could be in the future! Chasing after learning how to play live right now
I love the information you are giving us bro!! It’s helping me in so many ways!! It’s crazy! Because for the past week I been looking into advisory advice and management advice
Thank you for the reminder, just drppped a lil bag on swag but coulda spent it on graphic design for my next merch drop
I liked this right here... if u ever need help speaking on some situations (like the Streaming Platform/ Content Creators (Record labels) are going in again trying to get us 5 more % of all revenues earned on these platforms that sell OUR product.
We only been getting 10.1% of ALL STREAMING INCOME.
EVERY 5 years we go to Washington DC and Re-Up with "Them".
5 years ago we were supposed to get 15.1%, but it never happened because the streaming platforms had it caught up in Appeals court for the past 5 years (the 5% for 5 year is supposed to be held in Escrow, until the matter is resolved).
So now, 2022, " were" going to go and fight for 5 more % (which would be 20.1% of all streaming incomes).
But, we never even seen our 15.1%! (And they have 5 years of 5% of ALL STREAMING PLATFORMS INCOMES sitting waiting to see who wins the appeal)..
DONT WORRY, WE HAVE THE BIG CORPORATE RECORD LABELS FIGHTING FOR US *Sarcastic*
STOP focusing on a slap at a place who never ACCEPTED THE HIP HOP CULTURE, And focused on WHATS GOING ON IN THE FIELD thats SOOOOO MANY call their occupation "CONTENT Creator" but don't know wtf im talking about when I tell them about "their" money, and the people making deals about what YOUR going to get paid..
Fuq #StayWoke ! #StayAlive !
And for ALL MONIES that don't get collected (ARTIST COLLECT WHAT UR OWED!), that money goes to the TOP 10% OF CONTENT CREATORS- Drake, Adele, Beyonce etc get all the left overs that go unclaimed!
May God bless you and your channel.... its really insightful 🙏🏼
dude this is amazing you caught a sub thanks for the gems!!🙏👽👁
Thanks for this sir. I was speaking with someone about this a few weeks ago. This is just confirmation thanks!
needed to hear this, thanks Brandman
Fantastic perspective Sean! Invest in self first! I can't lie I have been guilty of this 🙈
Appreciate the nuggets!
I 100% agree with the heart of what you are saying here, but I think you should have used a different example.
The reason : If you are aiming at being a career musician, then attending an event by a world class performer/entrepreneur and taking in every aspect of what makes their event spectacular, first hand, is essentially market research. Every aspect of it, the flights, hotel, meals, admission and even the merchandise (brand quality comparison) is tax deductible… assuming you’ve got your back-end set up properly.
You can even bring the whole team and/or potential business partners (either as a business gift, or as a showcase of what you are aspiring to create with your brand), so long as a meeting is held at some point along the trip to discuss and document what insights were acquired and how you plan on implementing the research data into your business model.
Food for thought, though I think in general you’re right about focusing on feeding your own business before someone else’s.
Great vids, keep at it!
I’m very well aware of what you’re saying but this is inspired by a real life occurrence. Most artists are not doing those things and not going with that in mind.
Real talk
You’re speaking facts. What you’re saying separates risk takers from dreamers. Some people bet the entire bank on themselves (me) and some people find an excuse as to why it won’t work. I think about how it just might work.
Real stuff. Appreciate the wisdom
Great content. Keep it up!
I been thinking about this for a minute thanks for the talk Brandman
Yessir🔥 thank you Brandman!
This is such a weird way of looking at it. What about all the inspiration you get from seeing artists you love
@@jjjjjj3423 wtf are you on about XD only stale art lives in a vacuum
@@jjjjjj3423 and who tf is spoiled? Go preach to your imaginary audience
Inspiration can come in many other ways though, through going out and experiencing, through art or just a conversation with someone you have to constantly look for inspiration or a spark and you’ll find it within the world. Kendrick Lamar says how he used to get inspiration from conversations he had with people on the street, it’s everywhere not just in an artist
Thanks Brandon 🙏
Well, thanks a lot man. Keep it up the good work
Not only that, dog think about the weed you smoke, every time you drink, everytime you doordash or get mcdonalds. If you have a job, work 40 hours a week and get paid $15 an hour there is NO REASON, why you can’t run a fairly sophisticated ad campaign. There is NO REASON, you dont have a home studio and can’t buy a camera for content.
If you dont have kids and you work full time making $15 an hour, you got the money you just dont budget right. Eat healthy, sleep right, work out, budget and I promise you that music will flow naturally after with all yhe extra time money and energy you now have
When you truly become an artist you will not want to go to a concert unless you are backstage or on stage
@Music & Whistle msk where would you be while touring? Either on stage or backstage. Go create some music bro
Channel helped me a lot keep doing ya thing!
Great stuff
HUGE 🔑
You could network at the concert right?
how do you know what's a good investment as an artist
I completely disagree there is a balance especially if your first starting. you don't want to focus your whole self into business and not support other artists, or live actual life moments. That not nothing even successful artists are proud off. Think about it Brandman if we practiced what you preaching, everyone would be focused on self and business and you would have no support or views on your videos.. Thats a contradiction. Just a thought. :)
Find someone super successful and ask them about what they reality of their work/life balance was like to GET THERE...don't get fooled by how people live and what they promote AFTER they're there...
"everyone would be focused on self and business "...not true because everyone wouldn't make that choice. And that's fine...success weeds out those that don't.
@@BrandmanNetwork I can definitely Respect your perspective..much love 🙏🏿..
How do you identify scams?

Invest in shiba inu crypto
You're helping me tremendously! I just began trying to grow my brand. (Been making music for years) Any advice about what I should prioritize doing first? For example: Build up Facebook? Instagram? UA-cam? Spotify? Etc. And any tips on how to do that?
