The 1968 Special is a gold mine for Elvis playing the guitar. He played the piano, too, but he hated sitting down to play and perform but he piano skills are well showcased in his iconic and tragically heartbreaking version of Unchained Melody which he performed a mere six weeks before his death in 1977. Fun fact: Elvis sometimes intentionally off key if he felt it fit the sound he wanted for a song.

I love the way you pay attention to all the little details when you react to Elvis. When he performed "An American Trilogy", it was likely you were seeing sweat rather than tears. Elvis' suits weighed from 30-75 pounds, and I'd guess this was one of his heaviest ones. Add the stage lights and the nerves and boom...lots of sweat. His blood pressure was always sky high after a show, and he would lose anywhere from 5 to 8 pounds during a concert. He worked hard but also had a ton of fun entertaining his fans.

When Elvis first started out he didn’t have any backup singers only a guitarist & bass player so he did his own music sounds that’s why he’s so good at it and continued to add his own sounds along with the back up singers. You should react to some young Elvis where he improvised with his unique sound! Elvis could do it all & never miss a beat! Keep going down the Elvis Rabbit Hole you’ll definitely not regret a minute of it there will NEVER be another Elvis God broke the mold when he created Elvis a very talented gorgeous special caring generous man! ❤️

Hey Shon rah, you need to watch Elvis in the 68 comeback special singing and playing the guitar with his original band ,, it's an iconic show that hasn't been matched ever, Listen to the song Trying to get to you, he's playing with the guys, and yes ELVIS does it all , he taught himself how to play the piano and learned the guitar from his childhood listening and carefully watching the older black men sitting on the porch playing with guitars and banjos , he just seemed to be able to pick up anything he saw and heard, ELVIS is on a planet by himself, can't touch that. Stay on the Elvis journey, loving your Elvis reactions. TCB

This performance will give you a lot of Elvis playing the guitar:
Elvis Presley - Baby, What You Want Me To Do (Alternate Cut) ('68 Comeback Special) (2:44).
A little background: after rehearsals the producer/director would always see Elvis jamming in his dressing room with whoever was available at the time. He wanted to capture that onstage. When they were very close to starting to tape the show, Elvis asked that two members of his 3-piece band from the early years of his career be brought in (the third member had unfortunately passed away). They came but didn't have time to rehearse so they just went out there and winged it. There wasn't room on the small stage for the drum set, so that's why you'll see the drummer using an empty guitar case. They hadn't performed with Elvis in at least ten years, but it was like they'd never been apart.
More great songs from this jam session are:
    Trying To Get To You
    Tigerman
    One Night
    Heartbreak Hotel
    Lawdy Miss Clawdy
    It's All Right
    Love Me
Are You Lonesome Tonight? (Black Sit-Down Show #2)
    Enjoy!!

Elvis liked to improvise. So his band and singers had to watch him like a hawk to keep up and support him. It’s so cohesive because he has orchestrated every move and sequence. Watch his arms and hands as he conducts the performances. Great reaction. You can’t go wrong with Elvis👌💕🕺

He played guitar n piano. I never met Elvis but was friends with Charlie Hodge his confidant and best friend for years after Elvis died. He told me many great stories about Elvis n I even kept a journal on the stories. Keep the videos coming.

For starters, with Elvis, the song, sound and performance took the main priority which happened to coincidentally always involve the human side of him which is *extremely* rare. Some of their songs you should react to are ..... 'Don't Stop Believin' (live in Houston 1981), Who's Cryin' Now (same concert), Mother Father (same concert), Girl Can't Help It, I'll Be Alright With You, Message Of Love, Faithfully, Open Arms (from the Houston concert), Lights, Why Can't This Night Go ON Forever, When You Love A Woman, Send Her My Love, Ask The Lonely, The Party's Over.

He played guitar in the early recordings he made in the 50s and was very good at it. Elvis stopped moving/dancing after so much criticism that he was not allowed to move on TV. Elvis was criticized for so much and his manager Colonel Parker forced Elvis to take legal drugs so he could perform even though Elvis was in pain and should really be resting in the hospital, Colonel Parker said he must just go on stage at all costs. It cost him his life. I hated how that Colonel Parker changed Elvis' mentality, Colonel Parker was the devil. R.I.P Elvis Presley sweet angel.

Elvis' last big hit, #2 on the charts in '72 (Chuck Berry's "Little Ding a ling" beat it out for #1). If you listen to the lyrics, Elvis is comparing a romantic interlude to a religious experience, LOL

He did rip the seat of his suits from time to time. It would happen more when he would do silk shirt/pant combinations. The suits were made of a stretch fabric called Gabardine, and it was used quite a bit for figure skater outfits. The jumpsuits started kind of simple and got more and more ornate as time went on. BK Enterprises, the leading Elvis replica suit designer, actually uses the original designs from Bill Belew and Gene Doucette, Elvis' designers. They also made the suits for Austin Butler in the recent Elvis movie.
