i graduated with a 4.2 GPA here’s what i have to say and my biggest tips 1. get enough sleep, don’t sleep in class 2. do your work right when you get it 3. don’t make it hard, take it step by step 4. make your time useful and productive 5. try a variety of classes, me personally every year i took a class where we basically did nothing lol, that was my study period
straight A’s have usually come pretty easy to me, but this year I’m taking 4 honors/ap classes and I’m already struggling. thank you for the helpful tips!! :)
also remember that school isn't everything in life !! the school system isn't suitable for everyone and having a hard time at school doesn't mean you're less smart than other people ! this video is great to find what comes most easily to you so you can achieve your academic goals whatever they are !!
Study SMART! No matter if it seems impossible, no matter if it takes time, no matter if you have to up all night. Just remember that the feeling of success is the best thing in entire world ^o^
Well, sleep is also really important, and it's useless to stay up all night cramming for a test if you're going to be too tired the next day to actually take the test at your full capacity.
8:47 brooo i feel this. once i memorized osmosis and phagocytosis the other way around (osmosis is for liquids, phagocytosis for solids, but i confused them in my summary, and therefore memorized them wrong). like 15% of my test was based on those terms, and that ruined my otherwise excellent grade (it could have been 90 something out of 100). Lol, please make sure you are studying the right thing.
14:00 i often literally treat teachers as friends; handshakes, inside jokes, etc., and they love it. i missed a lot of classes this year (not by my own fault) and got a d on my bio exam. the teacher understood that i was only present on 2 or 3 bio classes and made my final mark a B. i cant even express how happy i was
i went from being a straight-a student from kindergarten to 7th grade, then i began going through a lot mentally and 8th to first semester of 11th i had a 2.0 gpa or lower. then in second semester, i got prescribed medication that actually worked + got a diagnosis for ADHD & got meds for that, and i’m back to being a straight-a student! i’m in my first year of college now and i’m so excited but intimidated
I used to be a straight A student but something changed since I got older and I really need to go back on track. This year is probably one of the most important for me as it's my last year of Highschool and my grades will determine the Uni I'll be getting into. I seriously have been looking for a place to find online versions of my textbook and this sponsored ad could not have been any more convenient. I have to carry 3 textbooks to school DAILY so you bet that I’m totally going to check out the sponsor today! Thank you! One question though, how wide is their range of textbooks? Some of mine are very specific (some of them r rlly old too) so I don’t want to spend the money if the textbooks I need aren’t in their database. Edit: unfortunately they didn’t have any of my textbooks but I’ll definitely remember this for next year!
Ahh, that’s a bummer. The textbooks I’d need are also in that range (old, specific) so I don’t think I’d be able to find them too. Hopefully, they’ll add your books..If that’s how this thing works. Thanks for the heads up!

I've been dealing with burnout for 3 years now, studied for finals the morning of the exam for most years trying to get myself back so I can keep scholarships in line, thank you for the advice!
I seriously struggle with procrastination. I feel as if I can never get anything done. Throughout middle and high school, I never studied because I never cared for school. I would say, "Oh, I'll just get it done later." when really, I would sit on my computer and phone sitting around and not getting the things I need to do, done. It will always haunt me in the end. Today is the last day of the grading period for these 6 weeks, and I'm trying to knock out all of my missing assignments. In my senior year this fall, I really hope I can be more productive, and get a real hand on my school work, and to not drown in schoolwork. Thank you for this great video! Will be using these tips for my senior year and college!
My school uses Pearson textbooks and the website. We learn the topic and then the teacher sets tasks for us. They are actually really helpful because it takes everything from the textbook and makes it into questions. Even the textbooks have questions in them and if you're stuck on a question while doing it on the website, it gives you hints. Edit: we use the physical textbooks but we don't bring them to school all the time because we can use the online version. (I'm not sure if it's the same thing as you're talking about in the video but yeah.. I tried)
I don’t really know why I’m watching this as I am already a straight A student but hey Jasmine makes it fun, my motto is I know most of it and then act like I know the rest. In my class last year I used to be known as the ‘human answer sheet’!! So yeah
i’m a freshman in high school this year, and i recently have been really wanting to get into Texas A&M. i’m worried i won’t make it in. i’m going to try and apply these this year to better myself, as the pandemic has stolen a lot of my potential as a student.
I’ll watch this video later but I just noticed how I’ve “grown up” watching your videos. I was in high school I guess when I started watching your videos. Now I’m going to college. I just wanted to thank you for your great content.
I have a tip for people who want to read faster. I've been a reader just like her so I read pretty fast but smth that has helped me a lot is reading without my voice( if that makes sense), which basically means reading things only by looking at the words not saying them out loud(this is more for people who don't have that voice in their head but if you do try to pass the sentences by only looking at the first 2 and last 2 words to get an understanding of the sentence) it will take time so you have to practice with books or papers or whatever you can find online and it will help a lot. My friend(who has that voice in her head) used to be a slow reader and the moment she started reading by only looking at the words briefly she was able to read 300 pages for 2-3 hours. The moment you see you can read fast, start paying more attention to what the actual thing means... It might look time consuming but if you read 100 pages a day fast your brain gets the message that you need to hurry and it starts pulling info faster. Idk how to explain it better since English is not my first language but I hope this helps... PS: I can read a book with 400+ pages in 3-4 hours, which depends on how much I like the book and how I am feeling that day. ❤️❤️
This makes a lot of sense, and I use a lot of the methods you mentioned for studying on things other than schoolwork like drawing, language learning, and music, but whenever it comes to doing homework and studying I feel as if my energy is getting drained right from my core and I can't focus on whatever it is I want to do... I think I need to make homework feel more like a hobby to get me actually invested in it and find out what motivates me to not procrastinate on something.
Thanks, Studyquill! Our modular classes will start on Monday and I have been preparing the whole month just because Analysis Paralysis always gets me. And I hope everyone that is reading this will receive academic success throughout the whole year! We can do this, nerds.
I really had to practice time management since I was used to reading between classes, but now I find a spot and get some of my readings done before my lectures, great video!

ok I have to say this and I usually don't comment on videos but I can't thank you enough for this channel, I'm going into high school in September this year and I've been doing everything I can do to get better at focusing on school and making sure I don't struggle with juggling all of my work but I always land back on this channel when I'm looking for stuff of this sort, I even write down a lot of the stuff you say in a simplified manner so that I can have it for when I need it or start falling out of the habits I'm starting to create, thank you so much studyquill
went from a straight A top of the class student to barely passing classes ...now star ting university I want to change things around cause I actually get to study topics I am interested in
I've been in university so long (I'm part-time history student) I don't even know how to describe my methods on getting As anymore. You have to cater different study methods for separate classes, but now it's like... Read a chapter of history once and remember it forever because it's like a puzzle piece that falls into place with all the other pieces? A lot of information overlaps at this point.
I had a teacher in high school who said she never studied hours on end and got straight A's. She said her technique was to review the information for each subject about 30 minutes each night and by Friday she had remembered all she needed for the test. This doesn't work for everyone especially if you have a hard time remembering anything. I tried it for a while and it did help me retain information but I needed to study more than a few minutes each night. As for homework, I done most of that during studyhall or got started while in class before we left. What little I had left I done at home and was ready the next day to turn in without scrambling before the class starts. Whatever technique you use, stick with it and don't be afraid to try something different. 😊👍✨
Hey Jasmine Yup, your every video is helpful and motivational Studying is an art! and I truly feel nice to learn about some new ways to study Or whenever I get distracted I watch or re-watch your videos to get focused that yes I have to study You are a great motivational speaker! For my school, we're alternating. So I go to school (ftf) only 2-3 times a week. So you're videos are really helping me stay busy and productive when I'm not slaving away at school. :)) but I can have study dates with my friends so that's a big plus
my mental health has been really bad for the majority of my high school life but i’m finally getting help so i hope that’ll help me get more motivated for learning☺️
I can generally get A’s in a lot of my classes (now getting an A in an AP class is very difficult so no) but I cannot in math for my life. I just don’t work with math I guess.
Yeah there's always that one thing you can't master. It takes time and practice. How I recommend to get best grades AND UNDERSTANDING in maths is practice practice and practice. Watch a video on youtube explaining how to do a specific question and then do it on your own. You'll see progress, I promise!
i would love to see a video of how you use google calendar as a student!! i LOVE your videos!! i’ve been watching you forever & you are by far my favorite youtuber
Hey Jasmine! This is my first time commenting on your video and I just wanted to say that thank you so much for this video, I go back to school physically within some days and This video really motivated me a lot. Please stay safe and healthy. ❤️
I'm not the best student by far but here's a couple tips that help me, a student with learning differences/disorders! (I have ADHD and dylexia, mine is quite odd in that I can read but can not spell and struggle with auditory comprehension, I cant promise these will work if youre ADHD or Dsylexia presents differently!) 1) ANOTATE EVERYTHING! Reading a book for class? Buy an old copy, and highlight, scripple notes in the margines, and have a seperate space to write down any long thoughts or ideas. The same with editing papers- sit down with your sources and paper that you are writing, with a list of what is needed in your paper. Go through and highlight all the things that you already have in one color, all the things that are incorrect in another, etc. Then use a pen to write down some ideas of what to add or change. Its also helpful to have another person read over your paper and add their own notes! 2) If you want to procrastinate, thats okay! Just go through the assignment and do at least a part of it. Do 5 problems for math, write the intro for your paper, or answer the easy questions on a study guide. Then you can go back after a break and keep doing the work in tiny chunks. 3) COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR TEACHERS AND GET A 504 IF NEEDED! Does an assignment that takes everyone else 30 minutes take you 2 hours? The teacher will want to know that! They don't want you spending that much time on 1 assignment that they meant to only take 30 minutes! They are willing to work with you, you just have to communicate. I know its scary but its really important! Finally, don't be afraid to challange yourself just because school can be an uphill battle- don't say "Oh I can't take X class because I'll fail, I have X learning disorder so I guess I'll just never be able too." Its suspected that some of the greats had learning disorders- Devinci for example, probobly had ADHD, and he went down in history for being a genuis and master artist! Don't let the worlds expectations of what your capable of define you. YOU are in charge of what you can do! You got this!
As a student in Aus who just finished Year 7, this helped a lot! I got straight A's in my previous semester and for my first semester in year eight, I'm hoping to maintain my grades to eventually apply to Yale, so I'll definitely use this as a guide! :)
I do not regret being recommended in this video and clicking it. And yes i will do it by my self and no one else will do it for me thank you so much :)
thank u so much jasmine!! im incoming 9th grade this year and i needed this :) im pretty stressed lately preparing for school and also about my grades for this year. i have been watching back to school related videos lately and this is very helpful!! ❤️❤️❤️
You are so lucky u got to know these things in 9th grade itself . I really think if I had got to know about such methods earlier I would have improved a lot.
I really needed to hear this I got told off my by dad and I'm just in my room on my own crying my eyes out and I'm sad at both of my parents even my mum screamed at me it's unfair life is so unfair I'm not a straight A student and this video would really help me thank you have an great peaceful life
I didn’t really think about prioritizing the more heavier and difficult work over the subjects I have easier for/less difficult stuff in. Of course I still make sure I put more work in for example my German essay but I didn’t actively think about it. I am definitely going to plan my studying and make sure I study when I have extra time for it.
"It does not matter how slowly you go, so long as you do not stop." I might not know you but you will succeed. This is something people won’t tell you NEVER GIVE UP.
Also a really helpful tip I have found is recording yourself reading your textbook on the phone. Not only will you be able to have it without internet, you also retain more from reading out loud.

Study SMART! No matter if it seems impossible, no matter if it takes time, no matter if you have to up all night. Just remember that the feeling of success is the best thing in entire world ^o^
Well, not everyone feels the same way about success.
Studying takes time and effort
Well, sleep is also really important, and it's useless to stay up all night cramming for a test if you're going to be too tired the next day to actually take the test at your full capacity.
Wow this helped thank u
Ok but you're like everywhere now, and it takes time. It can ruin your studies and mental health if you also study till midnight and all.
Your from? Which grades?

The school system don't care how you go about your grade just don't fail.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I had a rough period in school i was having an issue with my family but the schooling system didn't care. After my exams my grade was bad and I needed my grades to be at level so i can get the scholarship i needed. I begged my teachers i explained the whole thing to them and they acted as though it was nothing. which lead me to cognitivehacks on instagram who helped me hack my grades and i also got the scholarship. I decided to let you guys know this because school can be messed up
I have written 5 professional exam .-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i failed for each time I took this exams. for the 5th attempt, I was frustrated. I decided not to take the exams anymore. However, in March, 2018, I travelled to see a friend who just took this same exam without stress, so i wanted to know the success story and why mine is different. He actually told me he was introduced to someone who can get answer key and change grade. To cut the story short, I took the exam now and I have passed the exams without nobody would ask me how I did it but does it matters?

Wish you the best of luck! 💛✨
Deuteronomy 31:8
My school uses Pearson textbooks and the website. We learn the topic and then the teacher sets tasks for us. They are actually really helpful because it takes everything from the textbook and makes it into questions. Even the textbooks have questions in them and if you're stuck on a question while doing it on the website, it gives you hints.
Edit: we use the physical textbooks but we don't bring them to school all the time because we can use the online version.

i’m a freshman in high school this year, and i recently have been really wanting to get into Texas A&M. i’m worried i won’t make it in. i’m going to try and apply these this year to better myself, as the pandemic has stolen a lot of my potential as a student.

I've been in university so long (I'm part-time history student) I don't even know how to describe my methods on getting As anymore. You have to cater different study methods for separate classes, but now it's like... Read a chapter of history once and remember it forever because it's like a puzzle piece that falls into place with all the other pieces? A lot of information overlaps at this point.
ehm sorry but you are SO BEAUTIFUL like glowing and oh the hairrrrr

Me wondering an hour ago why Study quill hasn't posted yet ❤️
I'm not the best student by far but here's a couple tips that help me, a student with learning differences/disorders! (I have ADHD and dylexia, mine is quite odd in that I can read but can not spell and struggle with auditory comprehension, I cant promise these will work if youre ADHD or Dsylexia presents differently!)
1) ANOTATE EVERYTHING!
