Arianne just launched a rocket with nine cubesats into orbit. They are about the size of a grapefruit and weigh about 4 lbs. each. Each cubesats size is about 10cm. X 10cm. X 10cm. The size of the Starlink V2 satellite is 7 meters X 3 meters. Starlink V3 will be launching soon. It will be much bigger (estimates of 1900 kg) in weight. No dimensions are available yet. Once Starship is operational, SpaceX could launch satellites as big as a fully loaded 18-wheeler Class Semi-Truck to orbit. Starship will probably be operational this year. Do you want to bet against SpaceX? Are the Europeans joking or is this just their hallucinations showing?
@@ericthorson1686 Yeah, lots of delusion in these comments. I don’t see any way for Europe to compete. China has a chance if they can get their Falcon 9 clone viable in the next 2 years, but Europe would either need to steal from the US or China, or throw caution to the wind and go super risky super fast, the exact opposite of their culture. Hoping to get a few hundred sats in LEO by 2030 is just sad. SpaceX already has thousands of sats in orbit now, by 2030 it will have tens of thousands and no one will want EU sats at that point, not even people in the EU.
So your suggestion is for Europe to just close the shop and hope Trump/Musk won’t go completely nuts and allow Europeans to keep using Starlink and launch European satellites to orbit? It won’t be cheap and it won’t be fast, but we need to invest in our self-reliance.
So failing to mention that the recent launch of Ariane (learn how to spell) was the first launch of a new rocket, with much of the payload being instrumentation and a mass simulator. Do facts matter to you any more?

Europe is not close to a reusable rocket. Even if they can make the Ariane 6 reliable. It will cost a fortune to launch all these satellites if you need a new rocket each time.

EU is way behind the US, China and Russia. It has regulated everything industry to it’s death so our innovations are ineffective and minimal compared to the rest big economies
The EU is more heavily industrialized than the US. What the EU lacks are large tech companies, which is due to a number of issues ranging from national rules, a lack of a strong unified European capital market and a lack of government investments in some countries. SpaceX didn’t grow out of nothing, but is rather a strong support system and government contracts.
Never to late ... often new tech turns out to have learned from issues of prior. In EU we also sometimes have a less profit capitalist based mentality, which can help in mulinational cooperation like ESA.
When an entrenched beurocrat starts a technological race it is usually caught taking the first step when the other competitiors already traversed the finish line and thinking what to do next.
Well, EU should immediately launch an investigation of environmental impact into its own IRS2 project before it can start! 😂 I wonder why those astronomers who protest the Starlink project are not saying anything about it right now.
This headline is confusing Getting an alternative to starlink makes sense but not spaceX because its a launch provider like ariane and ULA which helps with Galileo The EU Iris² will fail because irs commercial and military focused not separate projects with different terminals SpaceX is a nato partner Why would you wanna stop using spaceX for launch for a rare launch? I understand the starlink alternative but you need many launch providers even India
China isn't that innovative. Their latest DeepSeek is a rare outlier. The issue is that the US drains a lot of talent from the EU. That's due to the reason MKSense1 mentions. The EU has top talent who want to do exciting things which is why they immigrate to the US. Trump will scare many of them away, so this could benefit the EU and the UK.
@@MKSense1 I think that may change now. I think we may see a different kind of political trend when it comes to military, solidarity across borders, technology and in general self-reliance.
So no one can criticize EU politicians?😱🤦🏻♂️
Europe can't survive without a master😂
Lol, no.
Europe has a great potential to be self efficiency but first the should simplify decision making process then they should get rid off complex bureaucracy, over pricing projects due to useless consultancy fees. Europe is overthinking but not actioning..,Lots to do
Fatih Ozmen is a Turkish-American aerospace engineer, the CEO and owner of Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) , Elon Musk is from South Africa. Why did they come to America, not Europe. Because America is land of opportunity, promising land and Europe is old grandma, admit it.
That old grandma is about to show her children who birthed them
Elon Musk mother is American but born in Canada. Her father that is Elon Musk's grandfather is from St-Paul Minneapolis. He is still there.
Elon Musk was somehow American before he went to America as a teenager
It's funny if you think Musk of today would have been the Musk of today if he had not gone to the USA as a teenager. The USA made the Musk of today.
The USA created the Musk of today. Education, training, concepts even reusable rockets, technologies etc.. are all originally American before Musk.
I am pretty sure alot of north Americans are tired of that clown Musk's antics also. If there was a alternative to starlink for business and residential available here it would take a good % of the market
Ughhh good luck? Way to look out for your citizens...
Europe is not close to a reusable rocket. Even if they can make the Ariane 6 reliable. It will cost a fortune to launch all these satellites if you need a new rocket each time.
Yeah it would be good if they set up a seperate side project or company that with as little obstruction as possible gets a strong incentive to work in fullly reusable rockets that can be produced effectively, and gets about 2 decades of funding and licensing for testing to get it done.
I think there is a company in germany working on cheap rockets using as many car parts as possible.
Nope, because if you dont bring back the lower stage that means 1/3 more cargo capacity.
It is the EU, it is very rich and expense is no object at all!😊
Europe can’t do anything without America at this point in history.
This is DEEPSHEET joke😂
That’s a fact
Most countries can't do anything without other countries at this point in history.
America cant do anything if they keep ruining all their international relations.
@@lisilein2😂😂 really but most countries are not puppies of America like Europeans
They would have to cut on the tourism sector or do a few very fundamental changes that they are currently very far from even beginning to consider. Given that they are probably not gonna cut their addiction to tourism moneys, it will remain very challenging, they will fail, I have developed a sense to how the geo economic maps react to these things.. and at any imaginable move or step in such a direction I foresee them screaming in pain and anguish if they did it on their own which later they will simply give up on it and feel depressed
*You couldn't live with your own failure. Where did that bring you, back to me* - Space Musk eventually
EU is way behind the US, China and Russia. It has regulated everything industry to it’s death so our innovations are ineffective and minimal compared to the rest big economies
Europe has been distracted since 2006 but it’s now waking up thanks to the threats from Russia and America.
Then why do you want government money for your vanity projects? Building rockets isnt exactly the duty we pay taxes for, thats a private enterprize...
EU leaders are like hurt puppies running away from reality. Majority is thinking exactly the same way.
Lower the taxes
Proof Germany had enough money to fund Ukraine by itself.
Of course they did. They have over twice the GDP of Russia. Unfortunately, they have no military equipment or significant defense industry.
When an entrenched beurocrat starts a technological race it is usually caught taking the first step when the other competitiors already traversed the finish line and thinking what to do next.
I wish this video had subtitles for people who are difficult to understand.
GAS OIL COAL ITS A BALANS OF THE PLANET .... AND FOR THIS ORBIT OF THE PLANET CHANGE
P.S. NICOLA TESLA - FREE ENERGY
Indian space company will step in..
Well, EU should immediately launch an investigation of environmental impact into its own IRS2 project before it can start! 😂 I wonder why those astronomers who protest the Starlink project are not saying anything about it right now.
This headline is confusing
Getting an alternative to starlink makes sense but not spaceX because its a launch provider like ariane and ULA which helps with Galileo
The EU Iris² will fail because irs commercial and military focused not separate projects with different terminals
SpaceX is a nato partner
Why would you wanna stop using spaceX for launch for a rare launch? I understand the starlink alternative but you need many launch providers even India
“Europe has the same level of innovation as the US and China” lol good luck
They have technology know-how capability but not political and social will.
I see a lot of potential. If America keeps going on like it this it may even force countries to drop trading with US and start to look in other directions.
@@TrojanGoat-d9u Russia invaded Ukraine 2 years ago and Europe is still struggling to meet bare minimum targets for defense spending. They still import energy from Russia. Germany continued to turn off nuclear power plants.
the only way things are going to change meaningfully is if the people who have made the terrible decisions over last decade are removed from power in Europe. That is why people like Elon are supporting parties like the AFD.
@ Yeah you make good sense. I still want to make a case for, however, that we potentially could start to see a trend in Europe with more solidarity and political interest for security and cooperation across the european borders. But I agree short term Europe would be an easy target which I hardly believe is a good position in these times. And yup its been annoying all along with Germany being so dependent on Russian energy. What is it that characterizes AFD that you think makes them a more appropriate party for the germans and what interest in this do you think Elon has?
Cool mire the merrier... good progress for humanity... we have been too relaxed for decades ❤😊
Of course it can
Talk is easy but to devlop this kind of tech requires atleast 1 decade
YES!
America last.
Russia never.
Russia first you mtrfr
one night i was scrolling through my phone, feeling like i’d never figure out why some people just seem so magnetic. then i came across this book, Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and something about it caught my attention. reading it was like turning on a light in a dark room. it’s not about pretending to be someone you’re not; it’s about unlocking the energy you already have. trust me, this book is worth every page
Where is United decisions on Satelites ? :) it was democratic stuff :)
let's buy Huawei
Great video, we should also exclude foreign owned social media, search engines and LLMs
On the bright side its opening a whole new market for new european companies
@TrojanGoat-d9u agreed
Starlink did not save Ukraine from the state of immanent collapse today. The EU having its own Starlink is just 1 factor in a future conflict with Russia. Can EU arms itself to the teeth, have its own Starlink, ram up its defense industry 5 fold, its own AI systems, its own this its own that ??? Will that be possible ? What you need is your own diplomacy and make a durable peace with Russia.
@@joem0088 it did in the battle of Kyiv
Good job EU.
Ofc EU can do it, Ariane 6 is right around the corner, and ESA is well proven. We dont need private launch providers.
Never too late
Go right ahead Woke EU!!
🇺🇲💪
USA to CHINA : NO WAY! We won’t allowed you CHINA to join our exclusive international space program ….CHINA to USA: ohh no problem at all, we will just build our own state of the art most hightech space station with just a fraction of the money you had spent on building your now dilapidated old model ISS…not only that , we can finish it in just 2 yrs time , yes only 2 yrs with out any outside help. 😊😊😊
He has thousands i doubt it😊😊😊😊😊😊
So will internet be free in Europe?
i remember feeling like i was always the one fading into the background while others stood out effortlessly. it was frustrating and made me doubt myself a lot. then i came across this book, Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and it showed me things i’d never even considered. it’s not just a self-help book; it’s like a guide to understanding your own energy and using it to connect with people. if you’ve ever felt like you’re not seen, this book might change everything.
Have small satellites in the kilogram range or lighter ever been launched with an accelerator? Is there increased interest in the idea, since new techniques allow drilling deeper into Earth's crust and at a lower cost?
Eu needs russia and the us😂😂
EU strong, EU can in space
The EU is too regulated for this to happen and way too much bureaucracy to achieve anything.
Whatever happened to 'Industry 4.0', uh?
Wishful thinking, where is Europe's Reusable rocket?
Europe would be a lot better in a cooperation with China, Brazil and India. Yes, no one of them have reusable rockets, yet, but unless you are talking about immediate competition (I am talking about strategic independence) you don't need that to survive.
China and india hates europe lol
Europeans will start dépend on their own once they ban transatlantic MOVIES 😅
No
there was a time when i kept wondering why some people seemed to naturally draw others in while i was just…there. no matter what i tried, i couldn’t figure out how they did it. then someone mentioned the book Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and i decided to check it out. the way it explains how your aura affects everything around you? it blew me away. it’s like having a secret code to unlock your magnetic energy. this book is a game-changer.
EU can work with China. China's Thousand Sale Constellation Program placed 108 satellites in Dec 2024 alone (just one month). China plans to launch 648 satellites in 2025.
Sweden is already strengthening their relations with China by a lot if Im not mistaken. It could be possbile.
Boycot STARLINK
Trump+Musk= ghae.
It is too little and too useless.
Tells the country which have a sovereign debtrate of 135% of their GDP... Why should Europe object to steal your money if you are willingly subvencionizing our satellites from your money?
Let‘s Go Europe, now is time for develope and change the History 🇪🇺
If best how come not working in space...X.. 🤔
How many Engineers from India is Europe willing to import to compete in the space race?
What do you mean by saying "Ukrainian war"? Its russian war aggression agaist Ukraine!!!!
We are good at corruption tho just ask Austria and Germany what they did with internet in past 30 years in Europe follow the money.
😂😂😂 Too late
Gayrope cant do space, cant AI, cant military, cant energy) Soon will be Putinrope)
Europe doesn't need anybody.
So russia is not among the global space leaders😅😅😅😅😅 This is what Putin has done to russia. Sad
A little late we are still using ww2 tec at last the usa is using 1950s russian tec.
*EU should work with ISRO to launch more satellites* ❤
😂😂😂😂
@BlindDaughter 😂😂 bin laden ?
ISRO, JAXA, KARI, or any one of the small US companies with proven platforms would make good partners. However, I think ESA is too heavily invested in Arianne 6 politically to change direction now.
Also, geopolitically, India tied itself tightly to Europe's primary security threat, so partnership in defense launches is probably off the table.
@Nainara32 lol, you should research more on recent launches .... btw India was one of the non alliance nations who dont care for such geopolitics. India was forced to choose an alliance. You need more mature research.
MUGA 😊
Vote AfD.
As an American, I wish there was some way to divorce Musk from SpaceX. Until that day, EU would be prudent to lean into alternatives.
As another American, your thinking and wishing is very anti-American. If you force a CEO & CTO to depart his own private company, you’re being socialist.
Nobody can in good faith argue that SpaceX would not be where it is today without Elon. I suggest you count your blessings and take the great with the sometimes uncomfortable.
It is under Elon’s leadership that SpaceX went from a joke in the space industry to the most dominant space company of the world.
The problem is that Democrats have lost the idea of what competent leadership looks like .
It's his property? What you described is evil
Would you want your baby taken away from you? He's the founder and it's built to serve him
Imagine if spaceX cared about profits and was publicly traded
Europe is finally awake. Lets go.
Europe is done
Without Musk? Yes, but you will need Russia 😂
