Thank you so much! I was desperate for a long time because I couldn’t find anything that would help me understand when somebody speaks Portuguese. Finally, I found your channel and I am able to understand almost everything that you say in the video. I’ve been learning Portuguese for around 10 months and I had huuuge difficulties to understand when somebody speaks. Thank you again. I’m your new subscriber.
I've being following your videos for a while, Susana, and I can say these conversations are the most useful lessons you have. For Spanish natives like me, we can understand Portuguese pretty well after some study but we need to practice speaking a lot, and this is perfect for that. Muito obrigado!
Hello Susana...I just found your channel...thank you for sharing how to pronounce and speak Portuguese...I am Portuguese living in South Africa...I am practicing how to speak correctly and your video's are very helpful 👏👏🤗
Fantastic content. Use it when I am doing something and I want to immerse myself in understandable portuguese. I speak Brazilian portuguese but I noticed both are hard for me to follow. This content will help me a lot with listening and comprehending. Reading is a breeze for me. Listening a super tough challenge.
Muito obrigado pelo rico conteúdo deste vídeo. As lições são variadas e muito interessantes e úteis para os principiantes. More videos of this top quality would help a lot. Thank you very much, indeed
Eu descobri hoje isto canal, é fantástico, eu falo um bocadinho de português, estou aprendendo sozinha porque meu filho vives em Porto. Gosto muito de isto canal. Obrigada. É um trabalho muito bom!!!! Beijinhos Susana
Do you have a series of lessons for early beginners with English subtitles please? Or can someone suggest a channel for European Portuguese for beginners? Obrigado!
Because this is for practice, you need previous knowledge. I recommend that you use the dictionary only for the words you don't know or can't understand from the context. :)
What does “es” mean? I’ve been studying Portuguese for 9 years now and I can’t read or converse yet. I’ve visited Brasil 18 times and I practice every day with my girlfriend who only speaks Portuguese and we’ve been practicing for 6 years now but I have to translate everything into English to understand.
Olá, "és" is the conjugation for "tu" (you, informal). If you have been learning Brazilian Portuguese, that may be the reason why you struggle to understand this video (in European Portuguese). There are quite a few differences in pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary. You need to practice daily, and you probably need to do a structured course. I don't know how you are learning, but maybe your spontaneous practicing isn't covering all the bases. If you review and repeat what you have learned consistently, you will need the translation less and less.
@@Portugueselab I’ve been taking classes, studying and practicing every day. I read, use apps, watch movies and UA-cam videos and practice every day with native speakers but I still have to translate everything into English to understand. I visit Brasil often. Thanks
Hi Susana! I am a 14-year-old Indonesian looking to learn European Portuguese, I have seen your site, and it's too expensive (for an Indonesian). The point is, may I have a discount code? Thank you (sorry if this is impolite)...
Just a small correction: in the academic or teaching context, the name of the language must start with a capital letter, so the examples should've been like this: "Agora vivo em Portugal e também estou a aprender Português" and "Eu falo Alemão e um bocadinho de Português". ; )
I am interested in being a member of the Portuguese language learning lab. Thanks for the excellent guidance in the usage of the basic structures. Muito obrigada. I would be grateful if I am accepted as a member

This is for beginners to practice what they've learned. It's practice, so you need previous knowledge. You can say it's for upper-beginners. Nevertheless, if you're not starting from scratch and you are not only learning on UA-cam (meaning, you are following a manual or a course) you should be able to translate the words you don't understand with the use of a dictionary.
