- God looks at us through rose-colored glasses, crimson with the blood of Jesus' sacrifice. He wants to pour His blessings on us and lavish us with His love. In this study of Deuteronomy 28, we learn about the blessings that come from our obedience to God, as well as the curses that stem from disobedience.
This teaching is from our series 05 Deuteronomy - 2015 with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque.

The Most High gave the blessing and cursing to the Israelites people. All Praises to YAHAWASHI.
The curse God mentioned in those scriptures sounds like the description of African American history.
But it’s not. “And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.” Deuteronomy 28:68
The Africans were sold to Americans. It says that no man shall buy you.
@@SheepofChrist818No one has ever SOLD anything that was not bought. That word "buy" is best explain the meaning. The Hebrew word H7069, which also means "redeem", "buy back" or "recover". So he's saying they WILL be sold by no MAN will redeem them, or buy them back. The Most High wil!!!
You'll find that same Hebrew word H7069 used at the time of their redemption, or recovery in Isaiah 11:11 (in the context on the millennial reign when there's complete peace on earth- not taught much in Christianity).
Isa 11:11-12 KJV And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover (H7069- redeem or buy) the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. 12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
Deut 4:30 predicted it would happen in the latter days
Deu 4:27-30 And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you. 28 And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. 29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. 30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the "latter days", if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice....
In Deut 30 it speaks of when all of the curses are put on them, and they repent in the lands of their captivity (from Deut 28:68), he would gather them at that time.
Deu 30:1-3 KJV 1 And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse (Deut 28), which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee, 2 And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul; 3 That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.
The Gentiles should pray for Israel to repent in order to be regathered.
Jer 31:7-11 KJV 7 For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel. 8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither. 9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn. 10 Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock. 11 For the LORD hath REDEEMED Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.
The only people that has been taken to every nation by a people stronger, and and is still under the rulership of that people are the descendants of the slave trade.

No other country came to the defense of African slaves in the way that America runs to the defense of others in other countries. America and its allies paid a price for the European Jewish folks during the Holocaust. Didn't save them all, but others did come to their defense. We can't say that for the transatlantic slave trade.

Around 2015, I asked Jesus why does everyone hate us...as in descendants from Slave Trade located in America and Islands. Deuteronomy 28-29 came in my mind. I had not read it nor memorized it in the past. So when I opened a Bible and read it...I felt I received an answer. Also, Parable of the Wheat and Tares came in my mind at another time, when I looked that up...that has to deal with the times we are living in. I personally feel that the 400 year curse has ended or close to it....and that we have entered the Tribulation (snd I feel we are in the time right before the mark of the beast and close to WW3)...it is here and time is almost up. Ask Jesus to forgive your sins, and repent, and ask Jesus to save you and to be your Lord and Savior. Don’t follow what everyone else does.

Who do you think those people are pastor? Think about which group these cursing have and continues to happen to. The only ones I can think of it black, Hispanics and natives. Black people are in all of those groups, the ship just stopped in other places.
Great explanation. However, Psalms 147:19-20 tells us that God gave his statutes, laws and judgements only to Israel and no other nation. So, these laws were not meant for you unless you are an Israelite...not an Israeli..

Im slightly confused. The narrative is perfectly attributed and I am dumbfounded by the abstract and the current practicality. Historical perspectives are fine, in context as far as this sermon. But, in my daily life the historical reference is not entirely accurate. And the projectors anticipate a certain reaction. I hesitate. And this is at the moment a problem I wish to overcome.

We shouldn’t focus on if it’s black slaves and Jewish people we should focus on the what we get before the “if” and after the “if”. The fact of the matter is God was speaking then and he is speaking now. His word is applicable to ALL of us. Jesus came for the Jews and the Gentiles, he died on the cross so there would be a new creation under God :those who believe in Jesus Christ & are BORN AGAIN of the spirit. Why are we extrapolating and dissecting this very clear and direct message to EVERYONE. OBEY God, keep his commandments. Love God, love your neighbor as you love yourself. Israelite, Jew, black, white, whatever, none of that matters. The only thing that matters is the Love of God we acknowledge, receive, live out and give away. Our truest identity is in Christ.
We have to UNlearn the lies we were taught first in order to worship inspirit and truth. Satan put in his deceptions. Stating that those people in Israel is His people while people are abusing His real children will cause curses on nations.

If learning that one was adopted after growing believing the people in front of you were your Mom and Dad could cause great emotional turmoil, imagine what it would be like if people, an entire "race" of people, suddenly realized that for allllllllllllll these years, they were the head, and not the tail, that they were lied to and oppressed spiritually, that they were of great value ( beyond exploitation) because they were His inheritance, not the dog under the table. It matters. And you know it matters. If it didn't, people with blonde hair and blue eyes wouldn't have a problem with a very African looking representation of Jesus hanging in their church and home. I, for one, look forward to the day when the first shall be last and the last shall be first.

Here we are on this tiny little planet - tiny little humans with tiny little hearts and tiny little brains - and we think we’re going to continue to defy the Creator of the universe and He’s going to put up with it? What amazes me is that He hasn’t already flushed the world to hell. His mercy triumphs over His judgement … so far…. A.W. Tozer called the 25 words of John 3:16 God’s shining diamond of truth and said that - in terms of value to the human race - are more important than all human knowledge. I agree … at death’s door all human knowledge will be worthless and only Christ will matter..God bless!

God left a detailed prophecy and left the reason for the curse which was due to Israel's disobedient. This was God's own words and was not a curse from the devil, but was the consequences of Israel breaking the covenant with God.
