Nice video! I'd like to see more street tricks on surf trucks like that. I guess I'll just have to try it by myself. I'm still a beginner, though, can't do much.
Looks like we are chasing the same dragon. I fell in love with the surfy feel of my Carver trucks but feel limited by how unstable they are riding fakie. Been experimenting over the past few years with different set-ups with TKP trucks to see if I can get a similar feel. The best I've gotten so far is Independent 169s with 10 degree angled risers. Surfy and I can do tricks and ride fakie on a ramp and it's stable. I wish Carver would make a truck that could do it all. Have you had the chance to try Revenge trucks? I ordered a pair that are due to arrive on Monday. That could be the magic bullet. Take a look at this video if you get a chance: ua-cam.com/video/_u7NkwdCj_Q/v-deo.html
@@88jonpaul Somehow the Revenge trucks were delivered today (Sunday)-- that's a first for me. Anyway, good news from the first test run. They ollie, ride fakie and are very surfy. I want to test them out at the park but feeling really good about them. The only criticism I have seen of these trucks on the internet is several people say the tabs break off that stop the truck from turning to the point of wheel bite. However, looks like Revenge stands behind their product and replaces them if they fail. I'll post a video to my channel and link it here when I get a chance.
@@88jonpaul So, the high center of gravity and the weight of the Revenge trucks ended up being too much for me. They also seem to lack the snap you get with the Carver set-up. I can generate a lot more speed pumping on a Carver than I can with the Revenge trucks. This may have to do with the different angles of the front and back truck on the Carver set-up. Carver seems to have that dialed really well. I am not completely giving up on torsion trucks yet but took them off for now. I also ordered some 149 Exkate torsion trucks to try out. We'll see. In the mean time I am going back to my original set-up. I have a pair of Indy 169s with a 10 degree angled riser in the back and 15 degree angled riser in the front. This makes the board turn really tight with a relatively low center of gravity. I use Mini Logo 60mm 78a's on it and it is grippy but the release is perfect for slides-- similar to the wheels Carvers are stocked with. No wheel bite. I can do all the tricks I want, skate hills, ride fakie on a ramp. The search continues but so far this is the best I have found for a do everything skateboard set-up.
@@darkdoggo8181 I actually went back to Independents and just ride them really loose. I've been getting more interested in street tricks so all the really surfy trucks don't work. Independents allow me to carve hard into power slides which I like and still do some ollies and shuvits. I have lost some of my ability to carry speed when I am carving hills but overall it's worth it for where I am at right now. I gave up on the Carvers, Exskate, and Revenge torsion trucks for now. They all just feel so heavy and clunky. I lose some of the grace of skating and feel anchored to the ground. Still looking though. There is probably still some truck out there waiting to be invented which could do it all. Haven't found it yet though. These look cool: curfboard.com/
@@88jonpaul Did you tried if you can get wheelbite? I never get wheelbite with 70mm wheels on any carver board I tried, there is still at least 0,5cm of clearance

Sorry buy you dont tic tac on a Carver board carver already had the c5 bel air board out before you did this video pratice how to use the carver board correctly before you start to try tricks on it also change the wheels to a smaller Diameter and harder duro. Like I said they make the c5 bel air 8.875 x 32.25 two tail board with 58mm 90a duro just change the wheels to 53mm for tricks tricks or use a 55 or 56mm for pools grinds on coping. And you can remove one spacer
vinny spina I have a bel air. Personally the wheels are too small and it doesn’t carve very well compared to my other carver boards - just my personal opinion. The best thing about this I believe is to experiment. Try something new like use your existing decks and see if something works well - or doesn’t. It’s all about the journey and learning new things in my mind :)
@@88jonpaul I don't quit understand why you are saying the wheels on the bel air 58mm are to small. I also have a bel air the board it was not designed to do the swirl back and forth for long distance. It was designed for carving pools and street skating foward only and will not replace a normal board. It also works for ollie's flipping tricks and grinds you can't do that kind of stuff with the cx yes it does carve better because your board has a shorter wheel base cx is better on flat and even in a bowl or pool for carving only but you cant grind the coping the kingpin is sticking out and gets caught and then your in trouble. bigger wheels on the bel air and you will get (wheel bite) with smaller wheels you can carve better because you have more (travel) more space from the wheel to the board so you can loosen the trucks if you want to do street carving yes the cx with bigger wheels is better because every time you pump a bigger wheel it will take you father and by pumping I mean left to right calving style but you are very high off the ground with the cx and you don't want to be on the coping with that board if you are doing 50/50's with it I would be amazed. Every setup made is better for one thing and worse for another even in the bel air commercial they put smaller hard wheels on the factory board for the demo why do you think they would do that? It handles better and you can slide much easier with harder wheels. the biggest wheel used by any pro is on the mega ramp they use 60mm 58mm is a great size but I had wheel bite in the bowl and guess what happened I got fucked up I stopped dead and got thrown so fast and hard off that board because the wheels are to soft at 90a for a bowl or pool is not ideal you want at least 97a and 99a and 101a are even better with 56mm 99a it works so good in a bowl I tried to ride my regular board after riding the Bellaire and couldn't ride it. But everyone likes something different and if you are outstanding you can ride anything but I'm a old man and that is some board for all around except you cant faky on it or use it on mini ramp or half pipe. It doesn't go backwards. And I dont know wich deck you have but in a bowl you want at least 31.5 to 32.5 14"-1/2 to 15" wheel base
I ❤️your video papa!
Wow ,glad I found this!
Guy Bartlett thanks! By the way, great profile pic if that is you!

Just buy orangatang orange bushings and mount them to your paris trucks. Feels like carver and ride them backwards all day.
Carver c5?
It’s c5 system (but c5 in front, c4 rears). Check this link for full details on the Impala shop.carverskateboards.com/products/2018-32-impala-complete
Great video, there are too few tutorials on doing ollies on carver. After watching this, I'll screw my tracks to a regular board too
Alex Kharlampiev thanks! Whether it works well or not, nothing better than to experiment- you might find your ultimate set up!
what width was that santa cruz boarddd?
Diego Alejándro Hidalgo it’s 7.5 inches just like a standard board
If you take of the board it’s not even a carver anymore
Just their trucks on a popsicle board
NOOOOO RAIN RUINS YOUR BEARINGS
Better to ride it then have a garage Queen! 😆

Wrong title bro... You did not a ollie on a carver...

Dont put the riser pads too, they are useless
To prevent wheel bite - a lot of original carver boards Have them
