I make industrial/hip-hop experimental with some hardcore and post-metal influence .. ya feel me ? haha o_O @sarah2ill Check out Marijuana Deathsquads. one of my favorites
I love electronic music! I've been at it since I was a kid and I got my hands on a Buchla Easel. Later I moved to Berkeley and got to know Don Buchla who made me a custom Lightening controller. I've been making electronic music since before it was called techno ;-)... (yes, I'm old, but still crazy after all these years)... I had an FM synth years before the DX7... love making all sorts of experimental music... I also love jazz, Rahsaan Roland Kirk was a childhood hero of mine... I was lucky enough to see him perform a few times before his untimely death... cried for a long time, he was a beautiful person with an amazing attitude, blinded at a young age by a nurse who accidentally gave him the wrong eye drops... he created the circular breathing technique that let him do a sax piece for 30 minutes without taking a breath! His album Prepare Thyself for a Miracle showcased it. He also invented the flute playing style that made the band Jethro Tull famous... they covered his peice Seranade to a Cockoo on their first album, but Kirk never got the credit he deserved. I saw him play two saxophones at once, play a kick drum with his foot and play a wooden recorder with his nose (!) all at the same time!!! Sorry for the rant ;-) Love your energy, eagerness to share, and music! Thanks Sarah!
Luv it... I learned to DJ 40 years ago in my Uncles skating rink. Last week my 9 yr old asked ME to come to career day to "show off" his Daddy to his class. I've had a lot of proud moments in my life... my marriage, the birth of my 3 boys... various great shows... but nothing... NOTHING can compare to this. There is a person out there that sees my music as the most beautiful part of me and that feels amazing. Rocket fuel for the soul, girl, rocket fuel for the soul!
Probably one of my most favourite UA-cam producers, like the style of the videos, you don’t just stick to all sit down videos which can get boring at times
Old school east and west hip hop, jazz, soul funk, future space. I always playing sounds trying to do things that i haven't heard before. Sometimes i fail. but i find that grove or sound it is magical.
For me, I struggle to put a genre on my beats. Sometimes they are this, and sometimes they are that. I just have sounds to make something, and I try to make the result head knock worthy 😂 Can anyone relate to this?
Sarah just wanna let you know that i love this format of video and it is truly inspiring to see artists working alongside each and create beautiful pieces. I've been following for a while as just wanted to let you know that you the quality of your content just keeps improving. Keep it up and much respect!
I Watch this video over and over again it was on my birthday on the 11th. It inspires me to one day be able to come here and vibe with people like y’all.🙌🏾.
I used to make a lot of sample based(records and songs) stuff growing up. But then became more inclined to making trap and edm and Lofi stuff with my own custom sounds a lot more now. Occasionally I’ll fuck with stuff like Splice etc
Hip Hop, Lofi, RnB, Jazz, House and some experimental music...depends on the zone I'm in🙌🏾 Love the video...congrats with everything and thank you for inspiring us all🤗😘🙏🏾
it would be really great to get a breakdown of how much you make as a music producer, what epidemic pays you, UA-cam etc, and also the various income streams you can have as producer
Here’s a video on how to earn income as a producer. ua-cam.com/video/8aYb0MrVu_k/v-deo.html Not gonna share my income. Although it may inspire others, I don’t think it’s anyone’s business how much money I earn. Everyday is different, every month is different. There’s really no set income when your an entrepreneur. Additionally, when you sign contacts, you’re not allowed to discuss how much you earn. Just know it’s way better than working at the mall.
I'm all over the place honestly Sarah. I go wherever the random Melody, drum loop or baseline I create on the spot takes me but I'm more hip hop trying to learn to make lofi and chill hop too
I like to make lil older southern south music, west coast, southern style boom bap twist as well. And lil trap here and there, getting rnb style up as well
This is another great video... It really makes me think about what my dreams have always been as a kid. Being a part of that creative world. Thanks for bringing us in!
I wanted to thank you for this inside look with your vlog. You are giving away precious gems all throughout it and it's cool that we can learn something that you've just discovered at the same time. As far as what genre I like to make, I have been making tons of trap but I'm trying to get away from trap music. Not that there's anything wrong with it, I just have been trying to travel somewhere else sonically in search of my signature sound. I have been on a lo-fi run as of late being that I just got Maschine 2. Only the software, and not the hardware. Too expensive for me to grab right now, but I will in the future because I am very happy with the unique beats that I have been making with the DAW.
I like to make some experimental Hip Hop, I´m very influenced by Jay Dilla and the Akai Lamas , but I try to put some new tricks on the boom bap, more personal and I try to sample diferent things... or Play with synths... Lo fi High End!
I love to make funky soul R&B to big Detroit Boom Bap heavily inspired by 9th & Apollo Brown ! Thank you for sharing your experience this was super ill!
damn!!! im so happy for you. Been offline for a while now and I come back to you out of your room into new york!! :).. you blessed, enjoy it for us who can't (lol not saying that in a sad way)
I Like to experiment with each type of music I listen too . I hip hop , trap ,dubstep , r&b , and old school dance music. That beat you was making was DOPE!! stay up and later.
I make ambient/electronic music. Real chill, lots of synths and interesting rhythms. I couldn't even begin to imagine the vibes in that studio, all the ideas that were bounced off each other. I'm sure great music was created based solely on the crazy amounts of energy flowing through that place! Keep it up!
What an incredible experience. I enjoyed the video. Continue to do it big fam! As for music. To make Lofi, hip hop, R&b, boom bap, a lot of sample base music.
I'm so glad I stopped to watch your video. Yall going to be a beat making power house 😆 I finally subbed, I can't wait for your content, now Imma get back to the show.
What's your favorite type of music to make?
