I'm 54 and been to a over 200 concerts in my life (its what we did in my day) and Rush is 16 shows of that total. Best band I've ever seen or heard lol.
Geddy Lee’s given name was Gary Lee Weinrib, but his mother, who was a Jewish immigrant and holocaust survivor, pronounced it with a thick accent sounding more like Geddy. It caught on with friends and has been his name by since. Check out working man live in Cleveland and prepare to be blown away. Cheers!
Can't forget Alex Lifeson. That lead guitar is Amazing. His charming sense of humor.I've been to Countless of their shows with my child by my side later in My years. I started taking my son to shows at age 7. He is now 26. We made it to many of their shows, R40 in Austin Tx being the last.. We are sad that Neil passed, as that was Our favorite show to attend . To many bands to list that. I and My son have seen. I just know I wanted to make the best and most long lasting memories with My child as Time flies so quickly and Parents unfortunately won't always be around. Life short.. Make memories that will last a lifetime.
I saw RUSH live in 1981. After that I decided not to waste my time watching other bands. I saw them live for the next 30 years. They only got better with age. And Neil Peart is a legend. Arguably the greatest drummer in the history of rock. A virtuoso with no equal.
I saw Rush probably over 20 times on 5 or 6 of their tours. In my 20’s, in the mid 1980’s, my buddy and I took his father to his show-- I don’t think anyone at that show had more fun than his dad, who became a lifelong Rush fan.
Yes, I was lucky enough to be at several Rush concerts. I was blessed to be a teenager in the 80s. Peart's lyrics were actually what made me a fan, and The Red Barchetta got my attention!
RIP Neil Peart. Every drummers first favorite drummer. Glad you’re diggin’ on Rush. Such a great band. I’ve seen them. They’re great live. I even have a Rush tattoo (:
You probably should have also gone to see Genesis in concert. They had a really impressive light show, and a couple of fairly good drummers too, one of whom was also a pretty good singer.
That's a great first band to see. Saw them "Presto" tour Jax Florida. With binoculars during Neils drum solo. Couple in front of us went on piss n beer run asked if we'd hold their binoculars and if we'd like a beer. They won't gone a minute when Neil started his solo. Cheers once again to that couple that was with us in the middle bleechers if you see this and remember. My first concert was Dio "Sacred Heart" tour with Ruff City opening. $15 at the window 30 mins. before start. General admission(wherever you want)
Care to experience them live? May I suggest, "Rush YYZ-Live in Rio" where the crowd sings to an instrumental....and the Rio crowd really knows how to party! How about Rush's "Working Man - Live in Cleveland" an absolute banger!! And yeah, there's more, lots more!...but I'll let the rest of the Rush fam chime in with their suggestions.... ps. Thanks for Red Barchetta, one of my faves...oooo, and a word of warning, if you're going to listen to Barchetta in the car, make sure you engage cruise control or you'll be angling for a speeding ticket, lol.
You said it my brother- "to witness their greatness live, in person". I've seen Rush concerts from the 1970's up untill their last tour. It's a shame you never got to see them. It makes this old fart happy to see you young guys getting into great music from my generation.
Man, I've seen The Holy Trinity over 20 times beginning with this tour. The only thing I can complain about seeing them live is that every other band that I've seen over 40+ years has never come close to their performances. Sure, I've seen some killer bands and I enjoyed them, but they were never like a Rush live performance 🤷♂️ Enjoyed your reaction! Take care ✌
Geddy Lee's real name is Gary Lee Weinrib. His parents were holocaust survivors who moved to Canada. His mom pronounced "Gary" as "Geddy" so that's what stuck! Alex Lifeson's real name is Alexandar Živojinović, his parents were from Yugoslavia and also migrated to Canada. Alex & Geddy have been friends since middle school. Neil Peart was working at his dad's farm implement store when Alex and Geddy were looking for a new drummer. So much talent in 3 guys, and so much kismet bringing them together!
Neil's inspiration for this song was a short story, "A Nice Morning Drive", by Richard S. Foster in Road & Track magazine in November 1973. It's still available on the web, an interesting story.
I remember seeing that 2009 Star Trek reboot, and the opening sequence with young Kirk in the car, and my brain instantly thought "This song shouldn't be Sabotage, it should be Red Barchetta" and then a freaking cop on a air bike (air car) came chasing him, and I was like "ok COME ON!! Seriously! Wrong song for this scene!
@@gasaholic47 *shrugs* I mean the story of Red Barchetta is driving an illegal vehicle, and having the Future Cops chasing you, enjoying the thrill of breaking the law, and the rev of the engine. As far as scene elements, it's exactly the story of Red Barchetta.
On one unassuming day back in 1978, an 11 year old boy decided to jay walk across Rush Street and out of nowhere a bus with the numbers "2112" in the windshield ran him smooth over. Life has never been the same since...
It is said that drummers sometimes use metronomes to stay in time. It is further said that metronomes use Neil Peart to stay in time. Neil was a helluva drummer, and songwriter.
Geddy Lee, Bass Lead singerAlex Lifeson guitar, Neil Pert drummer. Seen 3 times since their 2112 album to Moving Pictures album and they just kept getting better and better. I was fortunate to have grown up with them. Truly AWESOME musical genius.
An even better question: how is it possible that Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have been friends since Jr High School where they were in the same homeroom together? What are the odds that 2 of the greatest rockers of all time are from the same town and high school?
I saw Rush in NYC at Madison Square Garden on the Signals tour at 17-18 years old, went out, bought a bass guitar, taught myself how to play it, and became a professional musician. Thank you, Geddy, Alex and Neil.
This will be exactly what I leave hidden away for my grandson when they finally do eliminate fuel driven cars. A '69 RS Camaro convertible. And yes I'll have plenty of fuel there for him. Enjoy real cars while you can everyone...
This has been my number one band since 1977. And I have loved some of the best. The Who, The Beatles, LED ZEPPELIN, Genesis, Pink Floyd. guys who all could write and play at the best of their game. But to get a band with just three, count 'em, three guys who could pump out this much sound, this much variety in a song, this complex, lyrically fascinating, and with three musicians who could play this well at this level, is simply unheard of. Each one of them brings rock and roll virtuoso level abilities, and as many will agree, as a drummer, Neil Peart has been one of the most well rounded precision drummers in history. The guy literally dominates massive drum kits, and can play pretty much any style you could ask of him. And then to see that YES, in fact they do it just like that LIVE. Man. They give tight timing in music a new standard of excellence in that department. They have written songs so complicated, they had to learn how to play them perfectly in concert. These lads take no prisoners in progressive hard rock. There are honestly times I feel a little bad for folks who just cant hear it, just dont understand it, and want something a little more simple and a whole lot quieter.
I was not at this concert....but I was at a concert in this tour. I was a young pup of 19 stationed in Germany and saw them in Russelsheim. They were phenomenal and wished I'd gone to more of their concerts after. For a three piece band, how they can create such a huge sound is amazing. Still one of my most favorite bands. Check out as many of their songs as you can. You won't be diappointed. Cheers Brother!
Rush played to their largest crowds after 30 years of touring. They went to Rio and some other Brazilian cities. Massive crowds 70,000 to 100,000 . It was their first ever appearance down there and the crowds were loud and emotional. They were literally crying they were so happy to see Rush . The band was blown away and humbled by the amazing love they received. There is a documentary about the tour . I'm sure you will find it somewhere
My first time was in 1981 at the Worcester Centrum. I was on the floor about 15 rows back and they opened with Spirit of Radio. It was the Moving Pictures tour, which included this great song.
I miss Neil so much he was truly a Professor! I listen to his audio books cause he has a such an awesome story teller. My heart broke when he passed away. You can never go wrong with Rush I’ve seen them a couple of times. The first time was at Madison Square Garden back in the early 80’s and they never disappoint. I couldn’t for 3 days and when that happens you know it was a good show. Seeing Rush live is an experience, an event and an out of body experience. I think if Neil was still with us they probably would’ve continued performing. I’m not trying to make you feel bad or anything but you really missed out. We grew up with bands that we will never see again with today’s artists. The one band I wish I could’ve seen live was Led Zeppelin but they broke up before I was old enough to go to concerts and there was no way anybody in my family was going to take me to see them in concert. I thank all people who are reacting to the music that we all grew up with and it makes me happy to see that you guys will pass it on to your next generation just like I’m trying to do it with my grandkids.🥰 Rush has a huge catalog so keep on trucking and don’t forget about Steve Perry and Journey cause they got a lot of music too.✌🏻
Welcome to the Rush rabbit hole. Your life is forever changed. Fan since 1977, never missed a concert tour from 1980 until retirement. You cannot see a better band live. Best fans ever, too.
Have seen them 12 times and on 4/20/86, Power Windows tour, Charlotte, NC actually had the honor of working the load in, show and load out of a Rush concert. Was one of those guys you see climb up to the truss to run truss spot for Neil. Looking for a restroom after the show, accidentally ended up in the dressing rooms and ran into the band. One of the greatest nights of my backstage career!
My first Rush show was on Saturday, 27-March-1976 in Spokane, WA. They were opening for Styx. I was all of 17 at the time and blown away doesn't begin to describe the effect. I was lucky enough to see at least one show on every tour thereafter except for the Counterparts tour. My wife and I even took the kids to see Rush at the Gorge at George, WA (Yes, there really is a town called George, WA) for the Time Machine tour. I saw Journey open for Emerson, Lake & Palmer in 1977. It was the first tour with "the new guy", Steve Perry. Really good show, even though ELP had to jettison the full orchestra they had planned to tour with. One of the mos amazing shows I got to see was Paul McCartney and WIngs at the Kingdome in Seattle. The second guitar solo in "Maybe I'm Amazed" by Denny Laine is legendary. Paul McCartney actually opened three major venues to music in Seattle. With The Beatles in 1964 as the first rock concert at the Seattle Center Coliseum (Key Arena); in 1976 Wings was the first concert of any kind at the Kingdome and in 2013 Sir Paul was the first concert at Safeco Field (now T-Mobile Park). And in May Sir Paul will again christen a new venue, the newly renovated "Climate Pledge Arena" as the first concert in that building. Tioraidh an-drasta
I was fortunate enough to see Rush live 8 times. My first opportunity to see them was in 1981 for the 'Moving Pictures Tour.' Rush will always be my #1 band and IMHO, they are the BEST rock group ever!!
My favorite band ever. Rush is comprised of ONLY 3 people!!! Hard to believe that 3;guys made that sound. Neil Peart (drummer) is outstanding. You are hearing the difference between a "drummer" and a "percussions". Mr. Peart is magnificent percussionist. Splitting the hair; a percussionist can play just about anything with a stick and certainly not limited to any instrument keeping beat and rythmatic timing. Two performances that allow audiences to be in awe are YYZ (the one with the long version drum solo) it's absolutely sick.....and Neil's appearance on Davis Letterman where he has so many drums he is completely surrounded. (Only time I've ever seen these types of drums) it's amazing. RUSH 4-EVER
You just made my night! Awesome reaction! I found you because Tom Macdonald and now here for RUSH! Rush has been truly the soundtrack of my life. I've seen them live 9 times they were so incredible live. They and Tom are my 4 favorite Canadians! 🇨🇦 Rush has been a big part of my life their music spoke to when I was a misunderstood teenager. It's crazy that the last time I saw them live my adult son was with me. More Rush please! RIP Neil the GOAT the "Professor" 🙏
Love to see you loving this. I've been listening to Rush since I was a kid in the early 1980s. I saw them first in 1990 and then countless other times up to and including their last show at the LA Forum in 2015. To see a new generation discovering this music gives me hope for the future.
I saw Rush 40 times!!!! Starting in 1982!! Every concert played in Chicago for 35 years!! Rush is part of who I am! R.I.P Neil Peart your legacy will change peoples lives for many years to come….
I never missed a concert since 1981 on Long Island! Three guys making great music. Geddy, Alex and Neil respected their fan base. All about the music. Wonderful guys I'm glad Da Real Adogg that you got it and enjoyed the experience that the men of Rush hoped you would.
I went to a live Rush concert back in the 80's. Nothing like it. Whats crazy about Rush is it doesnt matter if you listen to the studio recordings or the live recordings. They sound great either way. Very original sounding group. Just fantastic at all 3 positions. The drummer is known as "The Professor". Probably the most technically gifted drummer music had ever seen at that point. You can look up 3 dif live recordings and the studio version of the same song and they all sound the same.
I saw Rush in Birmingham, Alabama in the 90’s. Each song in quality performed on stage was as good as their albums. And this particular night, Geddy was suffering from a bad cold and he sounded great. They always gave their all on stage.
I saw them in St Louis for their Counterparts tour. I couldn't be any more thankful for the experience. True greatness, truly great humans, delivering meaningful art straight to us, pushing themselves as hard as they can to make the transaction. These experiences are what life should be about. It also brings a little tear to my eye, of sheer joy, to see other generations discover this magic. Thank you for sharing!
I saw Rush in 1983. Then again in the 2000s. I've probably seen most of the bands and artists you've reacted to live. Started going to concerts in 1977 and never stopped.
I have seen Rush many times in concert & it was a experience every time!! Neil Peart (The Professor) is/was a drumming legend!! may he R.I.P. one of the best in the buisness!! you should find one of his drum solos, it will blow your mind!! when Rush first came out people made fun of Geddy lees voice believe it or not, He showed them!! I loved them from the first time I heard them! I loved his voice!! Unique & I LOVE that!! They are legends now!!
Went to my one and only Rush concert in Long Island in 1978. All I can say is I have never seen three people play with such intensity, talent and total kick ass tight rock and roll. Incredible band I all I can say. Been a Rush fan ever since.
I've been to 3 Rush concerts. Neil Peart, "The Professor" I consider to be the best drummer ever! A virtuoso on the drums. Just a beautiful thing to watch! The last one I saw, they played "Moving Pictures" from start to finish. It was totally a rock and roll spectacular! Just 3 guys making all of that sound and playing for over 3 hrs altogether. One of the things I love about old school is your going to get your money's worth! RIP Neil Peart!
One of the best live shows ever, I seen them a few times here in SLC. I seen this tour, signals and grace under pressure tour. These guys are phenomenal. 🤘😎🤘
Alex Lifeson, Neil Peart and Geddie Lee, the holy trinity of rock musicians, all three are absolute masters and we may never see a band as in sync and mind blowingly good as these guys again. I thank god they found each other and gave the world the gift of their talents. There will never be another Rush but they have decades of hits to enjoy and its so satisfying to see the youth discovering and appreciating them as I did as a kid and still do as an old man. 😊
As a 55 year old I grew up listening to Rush along with several other Rock bands that are still to this day amazing and hard for others to match up too. You have stumbled onto some great music, keep checking out the bands of the 70s and you truly find some great bands and awesome musicians. There's a lot you missed if you like Rush!
Saw Rush 18 times. ! There are no words to describe the excitement level when the arena lights go down at the beginning of a Rush concert . Wanted to recommend The Spirit of Radio from the Maple Leaf Gardens concert,1984.
I’ve seen rush since there Hemispheres tour back in the late 70’s. Seen Rush 15 times. The cool thing is that this Wednesday night in New Orleans we are going to see Primus. They will be playing Rush’s Farewell to Kings album in its entirety! It’s going to be fucking awesome and we’ve been waiting for this tour for 2 years because of Covid. Rush is my favorite Rock Band and they have a deep rabbit hole to explore! You should check out the funky Rock music of Primus too! They are great in there unique Rockin way!! And they are Hugh fans of Rush!! Go Pelicans!!!!
Saw them twice 😊 in 97 in my hometown Montreal and in 2000 in Toronto...rarely heard that type of perfection in live concert with all the complexity of being only 3...maybe King Crimsom were the closest for a live performance but they were 6 to fill up the songs. Rush = Best trio ever...so far!
Bro. Loved your reaction to this music that I grew up on. I saw Rush 87-88, 2011, 2015. I'm 51 & I've learned so far you can't go wrong with 1940's, 50' 60' 70' 80's - 95. That's a great Vaught of classic music to start with. I stay stuck in the good days.. lol
My first Rush show was in 1977, All The Worlds A Stage. I saw this album tour in Houston.Missed a couple tours here and there and still kickin myself in the ass for missing the last tour.
I was fortunate enough to have seen Rush twice in concert. I've also seen Van Halen, Pink Floyd, and others. There's nothing like a live rock concert. The sound, the feel, the overall experience.
I've been a huge RUSH fan since the late 70s but have only seen them twice live. First time was in summer of 1981 when they were on the tour you are reacting too (Exit Stage Left recording, but from the Moving Pictures tour). I got to see them again in 2015 on their R40 tour and they were simply amazing....played at least one song from every album over their 40 year career (ended the night with the song that made me a fan....Working Man).
I'm fairly young as far as Rush fans go, and didn't discover them until I was in my 20s. But they quickly became my favorite band, and I managed to catch them live on every tour from Vapor Trails up to the Time Machine tour. I sadly did not get to see what turned out to be their farewell tour.
Saw them 12 times over the years...every show was AMAZING! They only got better as they got older. Red Barchetta was always one of my favourites played live.
I saw Rush four times in person. When you see them perform these songs, and especially solos, the question is, "How? How do they do that?" Three solid hours of music with only a ten-minute break, and they never missed a note.
This tour was the last time I saw Rush. March 1981 Toronto Maple Leaf Gardens. Good Times. I have seen them 4-5 times including my hometown and other towns in northern Ontario.
Rush was the first band I saw in concert with my wife in 1980 down in Lakeland Florida at the Civic Center. We saw Rush, Kansas and then REO Speedwagon in rapid succession. Then a few months after we were married we saw Bruce Springsteen. I'd list all the shows we've seen over the next 40+ years but that would be a books worth.
I saw Rush in concert at the old Hollywood Sportatorium in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1982. This was known as the famous “Tear Gas Incident “, and people still talk about it today. For whatever reason the gates didn’t open in time and people began rioting and tear gas filled the entrance and lobby of the venue. We just pushed ahead anyway and ran through the tear gas filled hallways until we got to the stage. These were the days of “general seating “, first come first serve. It was scary and dangerous but amazing!
Ive been to Rush, Kiss, AC/DC, Motely Crew, Queensryche, Candlebox. All great groups. It was good times for sure. I loved growing up in the 80's and 90's.
I have seen RUSH 15 times. This tour Moving Pictures was my first concert. I was 16 years old. I saw them at Maple Leaf Gardens Toronto. Try YYZ from RUSH in RIO. The crowd was amazing.
I started listening to Rush in the late 70's and never stopped. I've seen Rush close to 20 times live and I have never been disappointed. The Holy Trinity were absolutely the best touring musicians I've ever heard, and I've heard many, many bands, live. It absolutely killed me when Neil Peart died. I never met him in person, but I felt that he was my good friend. I feel the same way about the other members even though they don't know me.
Love your reaction to my all time favorite band!! I’ve been and fan since 1980 and have seen them in concert 5 times and every time was just incredible! They opened their farewell tour right here in my hometown of Tulsa OK and it was the greatest concert I have ever seen! When Neil Peart passed away and I knew they were done for good my heart hurt. It was the passing of an era and the end of one of rocks greatest! RIP Neil! Want to hear about 20 minutes of the best live music ever? Listen to Exit Stage Left from Jacob’s Ladder through Freewill… it will blow your mind!
I saw them play a show during their Moving Pictures Tour. Neil Peart is my favorite drummer of all time. He passed away from brain cancer on January 7 2020. The called him the Professor. Rush is one of the Greatest Bands of all time. Check out Spirit of the Radio, Closer to the Heart and Temples of Syrynx.
Love Rush greatest band on the planet period. Seen them live twice by far the greatest concerts ever. Wish I had seen them more time. This album is 40 years old. This was the first album I bought by them. Just got the anniversary edition on vinyl yesterday !
🤔 Can't remember where Rush opened for KISS. 🤷🏿♀️ I was in the 7th grade & was invited by a classmate. 4 decades of Venues: MSG, Radio City Music Hall, Giant Stadium, NJ Meadowlands, Jones Beach are the ones I remember. From R30 Tour and after, they were all shows at MSG! 🤗 Everyone who plays MSG is usually the musical guest on Saturday Night Live! 🤩 I love NYC! 😁🐰
I started going to rush concerts back in 1974 I have seen him 29 times over the years they've been together for over 40 years there has never been a better band Live
The song was written by Rush’s drummer, Neil Peart, a car and motorcycle enthusiast, and was inspired by a short story by that appeared in the Nov. 1973 issue of Road & Track by Richard S. Foster, entitled “A Nice Morning Drive.” (You can read the original short story that inspired the song here: A NICE MORNING DRIVE) As the album was wrapping up, Rush made repeated attempts to contact Foster and make sure he was cool with the song. But Road & Track didn’t have updated contact info on his (this was the pre-internet Stone Age, remember). So the band settled for putting an “Inspired by” qualifier on the song/album credits.
Welcome to the #RushFamily! Keep on with the reactions and you'll get tons of us coming back. This is a very worthwhile rabbit hole. Neil Peart, the drummer, sadly passed away in January 2020 (glioblastoma) which about broke me (hence the profile pic). 💔 I lost count how many times I saw them live, but my husband and I met because of Rush. 😊 Next, I suggest possibly Xanadu (live on Exit Stage Left), La Villa Strangiato (possibly the studio version is best), Working Man (live in Cleveland), YYZ (live in Rio), Subdivisions, or Natural Science. But you really can't go wrong. Enjoy and welcome!!!
When I was young I was in love with this band. Rush was my nickname in high school. I saw them in concert 11 times. Last concert I went to was here in Portland, they were celebrating their 40th anniversary as a band.
Glad you loved it. I sure do. One of my faves. Got to see them on Grace Under Pressure many moons ago. Enjoy diving in. Tasty and substantial good stuff.
Jacksonville Fl Saw Rush a few times...what I appreciated about them...they gave you your moneys worth, they played every note, never lazy, long set lists...2 1/2 hour jam sessions. Superb always.
Saw Rush live in Dallas for their time machine tour. No opener, just them. Played their whole moving pictures album in full. They sounded as sharp as they do in this video aside from geddy’s voice which is to be expected given his age. Instrumentally and technically they never declined. They were true to the art and like you said in this video it is an absolute honor to be able to say I’ve seen the holy trinity in all of their greatness live!!
Love band so much. Saw them twice, but seeing them so young and full of life is tough. With Neil gone, and the passing of time. But their music at least, will stay with us.
Rush were musicians that became Rock Stars! Did their own thing and it was amazing, only saw them 3 times but the best 3 shows I've been too, RIP Neil master drummer and artistic poet!
Thanks for the respect of our greatest Canadian musicians , they were to advanced for a lot of the industry , this is only the beginning ,seen rush 5 times . Cheers .
Rush is and was the sound track of my life and I'm 57 years old. Still listen to them every day.
Me too
Hey.... I was gonna say that.
58 and it's the same for me eh! ✌❤🎸🍁
Me too, 57 Vancouver
I'm 56 but "eh!"
I'm 54 and been to a over 200 concerts in my life (its what we did in my day) and Rush is 16 shows of that total. Best band I've ever seen or heard lol.

Alex Lifesons name isn't the real name either.
Rush is truly amazing. The meaning behind this song too... wow, in our lifetime it's coming true. :(
Alex Lifeson's real name is Alexander Zivojinovich (if I remember it correctly).
@@magnusblomquist1787Yep. The surname is Serbian and translates as "son of life". Hence Lerxst's stage name of Lifeson.

I just know I wanted to make the best and most long lasting memories with My child as Time flies so quickly and Parents unfortunately won't always be around. Life short.. They were phenomenal. They stood there and jammed. It is amazing how much sound comes out of just 3 people

for 40 years! Saw them the first time live in 1983, I was a Senior in High School. They are unbelievable.
RIP Neil Peart. Every drummers first favorite drummer.
Glad you’re diggin’ on Rush. Such a great band. I’ve seen them. They’re great live. I even have a Rush tattoo (:
That's awesome!! Is it the Starman?
@@Matty0923 it is indeed, sir.
Rush was my first concert in 1980 in Pittsburgh. They had the best light show of any band I ever saw and I remember my ticket was only $9.95
My first concert in 1981 in Dallas...2nd row right in front of Alex for $10. Saw them again in 2012. Sad I only saw them twice.
You probably should have also gone to see Genesis in concert. They had a really impressive light show, and a couple of fairly good drummers too, one of whom was also a pretty good singer.

I'm in the 15 range for their shows, Alan Parsons Live and usually (but not always) Dream Theater have also played in that realm
Incredible sound live- I got to experience them live 3 times in the 1970’ s-90’s.Stunning.
The Holy Trinity nice 🙂
Supertramp, Yes, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, April Wine, Queen, The Eagles, back in the day, were impressive live performers.
So much talent in 3 guys, and so much kismet bringing them together!
and Neil Peart's real name is Neil Peart !
@@kevindohn6776 He just had to be different 🙂
I read that life son, hence Lifeson, is the English translation of Alex’s last name.
I still love Geddy's Rickenbacker sound best of all his basses.
Neil's inspiration for this song was a short story, "A Nice Morning Drive", by Richard S. Foster in Road & Track magazine in November 1973. It's still available on the web, an interesting story.
Love that he got to ride with Neil on the way to a show once they finally got in contact with him.
@@happyninja42 I see your point, but since young James T stole the car, and was running from the police, Sabotage was probably more appropriate.
The High Priest of Progressive Rock. How does 3 guys from Canada make such a incredible sound???🤔🤔🤔🤔🍺🍺🍄🍄🤟🤟🤯🤯
Kinda scary that the "motor law" is not fiction anymore.
Peace and love from Canada, man! We're so proud of these boys! ✌
Watch RUSH's Documentary "Beyond the Lighted Stage" 😃😃
I saw Rush in Birmingham, Alabama in the 90’s. Each song in quality performed on stage was as good as their albums. And this particular night, Geddy was suffering from a bad cold and he sounded great. They always gave their all on stage.
Never missed a RUSH concert in my town since 1984! Right up to their last tour . I miss them so much. RIP Neil.
YEP! I have seen Rush 17 times since 1984. Always awesome. All 3 are Virtuoso musicians.
RUSH is just amazing
I saw Rush live in concert 35 times from 1979 to 2015. They were such an incredible live band. Rip brother Neil.
I was lucky enough to see them 76 times since 1980. They are a very special band with so much music for to discover!
🥰 That 1st Bass note thump gives me chills! 😁🐰
One of the best live shows ever, I seen them a few times here in SLC. I seen this tour, signals and grace under pressure tour. These guys are phenomenal. 🤘😎🤘
I was at the Signals show in SLC too… what a great gig. Saw them again many years later on the Time Machine tour.
I saw every concert of Rush from 1987 till the end. I still get goosebumps remembering them
Saw RUSH 4 times .1980,1981,1984 and 2011. Absolutely amazing shows
I've been a huge RUSH fan since the late 70s but have only seen them twice live.
Yes this tour was actually my first concert ever when I was 15 and I went on to see Rush 22 times.
Been to four of their concerts from 1981 to 2011.They kept getting better every year!
Saw them 3 times...Presto, Vapor Trails and Snakes and Arrows.
"They got one hell of a drummer." This is what you call an, "understatement".
I've seen Rush I don't know how many times, but every show was stellar. By far my favorite everything with these 3 dudes. They are the measure of life
Ive been to Rush, Kiss, AC/DC, Motely Crew, Queensryche, Candlebox.
Loved your love of Rush! I saw them at the SuperDome in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1988 when I was a student at LSU! Awesome concert!
This was filmed in Montréal, my home town.
Saw them playing live in this venue (The Forum) and then at the Bell Center 5 times !
I had the great fortune of seeing them live in 5 different decades. From Hemispheres in 79 to Clockwork Angels in 13.
Love Rush greatest band on the planet period. Seen them live twice by far the greatest concerts ever. Wish I had seen them more time. This album is 40 years old. This was the first album I bought by them. Just got the anniversary edition on vinyl yesterday
!
Foster, entitled “A Nice Morning Drive.”
(You can read the original short story that inspired the song here: A NICE MORNING DRIVE)
As the album was wrapping up, Rush made repeated attempts to contact Foster and make sure he was cool with the song.
Next, I suggest possibly Xanadu (live on Exit Stage Left), La Villa Strangiato (possibly the studio version is best), Working Man (live in Cleveland), YYZ (live in Rio), Subdivisions, or Natural Science. But you really can't go wrong. Enjoy and welcome!!!
Red barchetta, my favorite song to see them do in concert, saw them 9 times from 1981 to 92'.
When I was young I was in love with this band. Rush was my nickname in high school. I saw them in concert 11 times. Last concert I went to was here in Portland, they were celebrating their 40th anniversary as a band.
Rush was my third live concert. In my face at the famous Toledo Sports Arena. My first concert was Thin Lizzy opening for Queen.
I saw 15 Rush shows from 1987 to 2015. Front row seat in 2011. Amazing experiences every time.
Saw Rush 6 times between 1991 and 2012. Hands down best live show of any band/artist anywhere anytime. Period.
This was my 2nd Rush concert, for Moving Pictures. And yeah, it was that good!!
Thanks for the respect of our greatest Canadian musicians , they were to advanced for a lot of the industry , this is only the beginning ,seen rush 5 times . Cheers .
