Happens all the time to me. If you have bad ping they can even shoot you through your builds so you have to be behind a wall and stairs
Someone takes a wall, someone holds their wall for fifteen minutes, places builds faster than you. There are a lot of instances where ping destroys your game so you don’t know what you’re talking about.

If you look closely at the bullet that nick shot , you’ll see that it hit the opponents shoulder not the neck up to the face if you want proof check the opponents health and nicks bullet carefully in the replays.

Nick has a bolt-action and his opponent has a heavy sniper. In fortnite heavy snipers bullets travel faster for some reason and that is probably why that happened.

There is skill in knowing your ping level and playing to it. nick's ping is really low, his opponent just had slightly better ping. The server is going to award who ever it registered the hit first.
@@ikannunaplays I know. I just like saying this whenever I or someone else complains when losing. A lot of games require skill no doubt but the ping issue really gets annoying sometimes. It even gets in the way of gameplay.

This is what I dislike most about this game there is tons of times i hit somone directly on and no damage happens and other times i very clearly miss and it gives the other player damage. It mostly happens during very close combat for me
I think it’s less about the ping and more about the travel time of the two shoots

I’m in Texas and went from 50 to 3 ping. Nothing changed besides that. I hit WAY more shots magically. Every weapon.
For 4 years I kept going to replays wondering how I lost a fight. Bullets just didn’t hit. Got blanks etc. now I rarely check replays.

There’s also a chance he has super high ping. Essentially even though you shot first the game has so much lag compensation it simply compensates for him and gives him the kill. Cuz maybe on his screen he actually reacted “fast” but that doesn’t necessarily mean that’s what the server saw. But since it happened on his PC the server just says OK and gives it to him.
That’s not how it works especially on fortnite 💀

The real reason is actually down to the weapon, the opponent was using a heavy sniper which had a faster bullet velocity which is why even though he shot slightly later his bullet reached first
