    mashaAllah, great episode. HMC offer such a unique service, and the only people who don't appreciate it are those who aren't aware of the corruption within the "halal" industry. Trust me, if you know, you'll understand why we need HMC (or any other proper halal monitoring organization)

    I respect Deobandi Scholars. However, I feel they make islam very hard to follow especially in regards to food and not being flexible to difference of opinions and also they only appeal to people of indo pak origin

      @Sajjad Nasir I disagree. I think it's unfair and a bit disrespectful. They come from a scholarly tradition from ahlus sunnah going all the way back to Shah wali Allah Ad dehlawi (rh). Deoband is just a name at the end of the day now, they are hanafi sunni scholars so it's ridiculous to problematize them sticking to their principles and putting forward views that they believe are most in accordance with the Quran and Sunnah.
      I've noticed especially among middle class Muslims (perhaps due to weakness of iman) a tendency to seek dispensation or alternat opinion for everything that gives them inconvenience. The Scholar's are not at fault for teaching what they believe to be the strongest viewpoint. The idea of varying opinions usually to placate a middle class growing in its inability to be principled is wrong, you, me and every Muslim should be seeking the ulema that we consider to be most knowledgeable in the Quran and Sunnah. Ie, we should be seeking those we consider to understand the divine guidance, the best, not just those who appeal to our sensibilities, its islam after all (to submit) . Differences aren't just good because they exist, you can't just follow an opinion because it exists and makes your conscious feel better for eating at a certain burger joint. It's the job ultimately of everyone to know what Allah has asked of them rather than what the imam can offer them. In that sense the scholars are not at fault.
      And criticising deoband yet Al Azhar is not free from many issues I'm glad deobandi institues are not like alAzhar because it means they haven't produced some of the disgraceful charlatans and regime puppets to the same level. Ofcourse its a great and stories institue but it has its fair share of issues.

      @fesall323 Рік тому +5

      @Sajjad Nasir I only mention this because your criticism is very strange to me. You criticize them due to what you perceive as inflexibility regarding food. How is that a legitimate basis for any valud critiscim? If ulema believe and base what there view, upon Allah and his messenger, then who cares if someone's deems it inflexible it allowing them to eat from their favourite tskeaway? Suppose a Muslim considers the ruling of Allah on alcohol to be inflexible, well yeah sure it is from a viewpoint, but that's irrelevant it's from Allah so the lack of flexibility is precisely what is needed.
      I hope you understand my confusion at your issue. If every Muslim including everyone who knows little on the deen, starts getting agitated at the rulings of Allah based on their perception of inflexibility, then that is a slippery slope. Weak people will seek dispensation for beat, halal food, hijab alcohol. The funny thing is maybe a decade ago you could say that's overexagerated but it's exactly what some people say now.
      To me its interesting you mentioned al Azhar because ever since the invasion by the British and their purposeful plan to infiltrate it's leadership in favor of the colonial cause, since then there have always been strange controversial views with little basis in them from pre colonial Muslims, that have come out thr mouths of some of people there.
      I'm not saying that's not the case with other institues including deoband today, but the greatest and largest extent is Al Azhar
