Shoutout to the viewer for leaving the comment that I shared in the video. Just to be clear, the context in which she used the phrase “A poor man’s job” was figuratively lol. I made the video in a literal sense. With that said, some people actually do view trucking as a poverty job. What are your thoughts? Thanks for watching.

I work for PFG Oakwood Georgia. I'm in my 2nd year and I'll net 6 figures AFTER taxes. The 401k and Roth aren't looking bad either. Best of luck to you family
No it’s not. Making money is about investments & what you’re able to save off spending. If they not spending much & banking & investing they can have more than you. Cut the bullshit
That's how I got started years ago with u.S foods. I tell the young brothers if you're not scared of working. Go for it, you will get paid Very well with full benefits. I did it for 11 years, Those hand trucks will make you more of a man.
PFG, Sysco, US Foods etc is a waste of time. The minute you get injured on the job they will get rid of your ass if you don’t fully recover. I refuse to touch ANY freight

True words spoken bro! I came into the trucking industry unemployed, poor, with 2 pre teens, a toddler, and a baby on the way and through the grace of God speaking to my wife to point me to getting my CDL, it has changed our entire family and family tree. Besides marrying my wife, this has been the best decision I’ve ever made and the best ROI
I’m from the streets and came from nothing trucking might be a poor man’s job to her but to someone that’s from an urban community it’s a way to change ya families life.

If you have a poor attitude and poor work ethic, then trucking might be a poor man’s job for you. Trucking is for hustlers. Trucking has such a low barrier to entry, with a possible huge return on investment depending on YOU. How many other occupations can you walk into after 4 weeks of school with the potential to earn six figures within your firs one to two years? Whether it’s touch freight or running out your drive clock daily, you get out of it, what you put in.
This interesting conversation I don't think it's a poor person job. People wanna be rich but don't wanna work hard is the problem. The same way you work hard to get a cdl you work hard to become a doctor. People get the game fucked up. You not gonna start off making 100k a year people don't wanna work their way up.

I have to say this, in 2008 when i started when the recession hit us, we got paid around 27 cents a mile. That was on average $8-$1000 a week, nowadays the average cpm is doubled that. What other job/career can you have that you can get in with no degree, no experience, and literally make it a career and take care of your family? I think trucking gets sold as being something it's not. At the end of the day, we're still trading time for money. It may be dressed up as miles, percentage, or component, but it's still time for money, and time is irreplaceable. It seems a lot of people think the means to get and stay out of debt, be financially comfortable, and netting $100k will mean they're rich. Until they obtain those thresholds and learn they're now at the bottom of the middle class. Discouragement is a sign you failed to aim high enough
The only thing she is correct about is you are replaceable, but everybody is replaceable in every industry. I’ll give you an example, I got fired two weeks ago today but I start another trucking job tomorrow. When one door closes, other door open. Trucking has changed my life for the better, and has gave me the opportunity to not live pay check to pay check and have very good job stability. I came into this industry from a freezer/perishable order selector job picking food orders, so I had a pretty good idea on what money is. But the work was absolutely insane, 2,000 - 3,000 cases a day building pallets that you guys break down and deliver to these restaurants. Trucking is not for everybody, but when you have done more work for less money, you’ll learn to appreciate trucking.

Had an interview with a trucking company that does dry bulk pneumatic hauling stuff that makes up cement like fly ash. I’ve got 6 years of driving experience and this is a good sized company, was told I’d make between 65k to 75k hauling pneumatic tankers 40 hrs a week minimum. That may be good to some but with my experience driving and having no speeding tickets or accidents, that’s absolute trash for a niche in the industry.
50 to 70% of trucking is Bull Shit whether your company driver or an owner operator......... The biggest problem is most guys are so desperate for money that they're willing to let themselves be taking advantage of..... And if you won't let yourself get taken advantage of the next guy will.....
People have mix opinions of poor. Me personally, my idea of poor when you don't have nothing. No place to sleep, no transportation, and no place to go. Some people have extravagant expectations, you don't need a mansion & three cars. Plus we have people who have bad money management skills.
In that nice ass house like “poor man where?” lol trucking is such a “poor man’s job” yet you got folks like Anthony and many others, living beautifully. If trucking is a poor man’s job, I’ll be poor…f*** it 😂
The problem with profit vs salary bs is if everyone was focused on being an entrepreneur no one would be rich. Im a trucker and i get paid good, i prefer my peace of mind and happines as a trucker than being mentally unstable trying to get rich only to find out thats not going to make me happy. Purpose > Money. You cant have a purpose just for earning profits its too hollow and empty, thats why many rich peope need mental health assistance. Being rich aint for everyone and thats ok. Thats why i much rather be a trucker with a peace of mind than someone with lots of money and mental helath problems
She's right. That's why I'm leaving trucking. I'm starting pilot school in January. The most you can make is around 150k and that's not enough money to save, invest, travel, and set it trusts for your kids, unless you live out of your car for 30 years.
America is being dragged down by people like this. In the 80's trucking was a high paying job. But now Food, rent, living expenses has shot through the roof. We're just not making the same since then. I haven't seen a big bump in pay for 15 years.
What she said makes no sense because everything is not for everybody. If she feels that way, there are hundreds of careers she could choose. Most truck drivers love it because of the low interaction with HR. You have solitude and peace. But it's not for everyone. Finally, there are ways of making better use of your trucking skills, like starting an authority. There are so many avenues in this business.
I totally agree bro I honestly believe it all depends on your drive when u come into trucking u have to have a plan and make the steps to achieve it I do not think it’s a poor man’s job cuz like u said u was presented with the opportunity to provide for your family and yourself I started off at Coca Cola money was pretty good but I barely seen my family so switched it up to a sideloader garbage truck driver the truck does all the work and I’m making great money have money in the bank and able to spend time with my family not tryna blabber on but all in all sometimes you have to pivot yourself to get in a better situation
She does realize the average median income for most Americans is 38000. She clearly can't see the forest for the trees. In this economy even six figures doesn't stretch like it used. Moreover the average American aint making that. I've always appreciated the position my CDL put me in, and this sentiment is coming from a 15 year road veteran with a business administration degree and a paid off truck. None of which happens over night. Trucking is not a get rich quick scheme. Respect the grind and the riches come after.
Can you do a video on how you stay fit doing good service, you look in shape, I’m wondering because most people wouldn’t have the time if it’s 12 hour gig, unless they have workout equipment at home already to save time
Any position can be replaceable, but that doesn't make it a poor man's job as in meaning you will stay poor even as a driver. At first, yes, the beginning money sucks. Not getting paid hourly sucks but trucking allows a person of modest means to change that over time. Yes, six figures is attainable in trucking...it just depends on what you're hauling or if you own your own truck & trailer. It is a blue collar job but if you're still poor in trucking it could be your money management or other factors.
Personally I think people should just stop projecting their overall negative experiences onto everyone else. Any time I hear that talk I just let it go in one ear and out the other bc everyone else’s experiences isn’t going to be yours. I live by a simple code of just knowing that anything in life you do can be as easy or as hard as you wanna make it for yourself. People should consider swapping out their pessimism for optimism.
Sounds like she’s jealous of the trucking owners, because she don’t have the money they have. But here’s the thing. Those owners have all the responsibility, all the money tied up in it (it takes money to make money), and all the stress of running a company. They’ve gotta worry about customers going under, losing contracts, losing revenue, rising fuel costs, trucks breaking down, or being wrecked, etc. The driver, comes in, gets the truck point A to point B, gets paid what they’ve “already agreed” to work for, and goes home. I agree with you on we should just worry about ourselves. And that’s actually my main point. We shouldn’t worry about what the owners are making, as long as they pay us what we agreed to work for. If anyone thinks owning trucks is easy, maybe they should put their money in it, and see?
She sounds like she didn’t put her trucking money to good use. It’s just like any other job. Everybody has. A boss and everybody is replaceable not just in trucking…. She sounds kind of uneducated in that statement
Had to comment on this it’s a job just like an accountant just like a banker lol trucking provided a much better life than busting tires I went from 30 gs a year to making 6 figures so it’s not a poor man’s job lol
This is the dangers of drivers being nosey, at least for some. Wondering how much this driver is making over there. Not factoring in region or cost of living, activity level etc. Someone who chains up to drive up north in the mountains during winter will likely get a higher rate of pay than someone who drives in Texas during winter. Just an example.
Man, I appreciate you for continuing to support the channel my guy. Good to see you’re still running it up 💰 Keep it up champ..Stay safe as well bro 🙏🏾
People cracks me up with this. Do what works for you. Trucking is a good job to have and hard work comes with it. Trucking got a lot of guys off the streets into a good living. Somebody making 30-60k telling a trucker it’s a poor man’s job. Crazy
Unfortunately a lot of people say that I'm a trucker and my response to them is with out us truckers America stops go by a piece of gum it came on a truck it's a hard life no doubt no family life and today it's very hard to find and keep a girlfriend or wife and it sucks for the kids because your not there to play catch or anything but if you hook up with a great carrier and have a great Brooker you can make good money keep on trucking
As someone who did oilfield and fuel for 10 plus years... the time dont match the money.. life will pass u by driving trucks... and now that the cost of living is so high... it really don't make cents
I hear you. In my opinion, OTR drivers should be making 100k-120k+ minimum across the board. Driving all over the country, sleeping in trucks, scrambling to find parking spots, barely home to see family, etc. It’s a big sacrifice that you guys & gals make daily. Stay safe
People associate truckers with low class. They don’t understand that it’s just an occupation and many truckers are multifaceted, make close to 6 figures and intelligent.
It’s poor for the individual who carries a poor man attitude about it, I make $2200 after taxes a week because I work hard for it, lol i don’t feel poor.
It can be perceived as a poor man job I think because of the low barrier of entry. Just like any job your success is based on your own actions. These employers don't give a damn about your position so be mindful of your income. A job is a tool.
It depends what state you live in . I was living in New York making 100k and with New York taxes I definitely was still living check tp check so I up and moved to Florida. Your are expendable in any company period so become an owner operator so you can work for yourself and still work isn't guaranteed.
She is a poor truck driver. You cant go into any field and make a generalized statement. I was poor when i first got into trucking 10 years ago now i have something to show for it house car ect even doctors and lawyers were probally poor earlier i their career while pay student loans off
For me trucking Is freedom if you know how to manage your money you will be fine I have no kids and the idk and job that you can get 100k a year if any feild of work that you can get that in a few months of working it happens when you get 100k a year you can't control yourself because you make alot more then you did before and just work for yourself it's much better that way save save save or find investor's and have a Plan in place to set yourself up for success
Most truckers even company drivers make double, triple or more a Week than alot of these apply in store jobs. Truckers are replaceable yes, but so are the companies we drive for. I can quit my current company rn, and be in orientation next monday for another. Its not gonna make u rich, but its a better alternative.
wtf it’s the same thing with tech and majority fields. Unless you’re a specialized software developer or cybersecurity specialist you are expendable same with trucking not too many oversized haulers regulars truckers are expendable. It’s just about what you like
Trucking doesn’t work out good for everyone, the game has changed a lot. Now a days it depends on who you know and what endorsements you have on your license, I’m personally tired of driving trucks, the disrespect from other truckers, and cars on the road is at an all time high. The rates and wages are low and the fuel is still high. When you add in the cost of living, and the amount of time you spend away from your family, and the abuse you put your body through add in the danger on the road, bro it ain’t always worth it anymore 😐
Lol. Been driving over 30 years. Don’t know who she drives for but. I work for a cryogenic company and yes it’s a private fleet. I made a little over 128 thousand last year. It looks like I’m going to hit 130 thousand this year if things keep going.
No job is a poor persons job as long as you are investing consistently a few hundred per month from a young age in good funds you will be wealthy one day.
Fast food is the poor man's job. If you ever wondered what it's like to be deleted as a human, just work fast food. What's funny is that people rely on fast food to feed themselves before and after work. If truckers could drive their truck thru they would too.
It’s true trucking is a poor man’s job. Poor doesn’t have to mean money, the majority of truckers have a poor mindset. The average driver quits in the first year cause it puts them in POOR mental health. Can you make money? Yes! If you don’t use that money correctly then you’re poor.

In that nice ass house like “poor man where?” lol trucking is such a “poor man’s job” yet you got folks like Anthony and many others, living beautifully. If trucking is a poor man’s job, I’ll be poor…f*** it 😂
@godschild1404 😂🙏🏾💯
All jobs are replaceable. It's pointless to even say that...
They've been trying to replace truck drivers for a while now.
God bless sis, that’s her testimony. But I won’t speak that ‘poor man job spirit’ over my life. Nope, we plan execute over here.
Very true. Thanks for watching my guy. 🙏🏾
Can you do a video on how you stay fit doing good service, you look in shape, I’m wondering because most people wouldn’t have the time if it’s 12 hour gig, unless they have workout equipment at home already to save time
The trucking industry is a pro-market industry. A truckers salary is dependent on the location, and the type of frieght being hauled.
🤣🤣duh you can be replaced, just do the best you can and save your chips, being spoiled from birth is hurting a lot of people’s mindset about money
Honestly. Nobody out here is special. Nobody should expect a company to put them over profits. Yes it’s shitty but it’s reality
Shit she ain't lie, truth hurts. Good content tho
As long as you have a good or decent driving record, you can always find another job as a driver.
What sup with all these women disrespecting jobs that help improve the country
Nah, not true, trucking changed my life. Afforded me a good middle class lifestyle.
Same 👊🏼
Depending on what company you work for it could be considered that lol
😂
Had to comment on this it’s a job just like an accountant just like a banker lol trucking provided a much better life than busting tires I went from 30 gs a year to making 6 figures so it’s not a poor man’s job lol
This is the dangers of drivers being nosey, at least for some. Wondering how much this driver is making over there. Not factoring in region or cost of living, activity level etc. Someone who chains up to drive up north in the mountains during winter will likely get a higher rate of pay than someone who drives in Texas during winter. Just an example.
Valhalla is what Vikings referred to as heaven
Bruh if it wasn’t for your videos I wouldn’t be making over $2k a week rn @GFS . Appreciate you bro! 🙏🏼✊ stay safe bro this job is amazing 👌🏼
Man, I appreciate you for continuing to support the channel my guy. Good to see you’re still running it up 💰
Keep it up champ..Stay safe as well bro 🙏🏾
She’s looking at the title of “truck driver “ I’m assuming… My mother whose highest yearly gross was 30k looks down on trash truck drivers making 80k…
With the trash company I work with in Southern Pennsylvania I grossed 100k
People cracks me up with this. Do what works for you. Trucking is a good job to have and hard work comes with it. Trucking got a lot of guys off the streets into a good living. Somebody making 30-60k telling a trucker it’s a poor man’s job. Crazy
350 a day 6 days a week.if that is poor you have a spending problem or you need to get out of California.
I got money in the bank..shawty what you drank
Bro had a verse come to mind 😂✊🏾
Square rim bidness 😂😂💯
Unfortunately a lot of people say that I'm a trucker and my response to them is with out us truckers America stops go by a piece of gum it came on a truck it's a hard life no doubt no family life and today it's very hard to find and keep a girlfriend or wife and it sucks for the kids because your not there to play catch or anything but if you hook up with a great carrier and have a great Brooker you can make good money keep on trucking
Subscribed 👍
As someone who did oilfield and fuel for 10 plus years... the time dont match the money.. life will pass u by driving trucks... and now that the cost of living is so high... it really don't make cents
To each their own. I'm a otr driver in the truck 10 months of the year roughly, and for me, 62k a year, it's just not worth it anymore being out here.
I hear you. In my opinion, OTR drivers should be making 100k-120k+ minimum across the board. Driving all over the country, sleeping in trucks, scrambling to find parking spots, barely home to see family, etc. It’s a big sacrifice that you guys & gals make daily. Stay safe
Then maximize your earning potential, either touch freight or haul fuel And be home
That’s crazy I understand where you coming from. What company are you currently with?

People associate truckers with low class. They don’t understand that it’s just an occupation and many truckers are multifaceted, make close to 6 figures and intelligent.
It’s poor for the individual who carries a poor man attitude about it, I make $2200 after taxes a week because I work hard for it, lol i don’t feel poor.
Not foodservice I cleared 130k plus the past 2 years I can’t relate🤷🏾♂️
It can be perceived as a poor man job I think because of the low barrier of entry. Just like any job your success is based on your own actions. These employers don't give a damn about your position so be mindful of your income. A job is a tool.
She's not wrong. You don't get wealthy trucking without being a fleet owner. And it's easy to overextend and it all come crashing down.
You just gotta find a trucking company that will take care of you. Walmart has treated me good.
What's up ATV, ✌️
Yo ✌🏾
It depends what state you live in . I was living in New York making 100k and with New York taxes I definitely was still living check tp check so I up and moved to Florida. Your are expendable in any company period so become an owner operator so you can work for yourself and still work isn't guaranteed.
She is a poor truck driver. You cant go into any field and make a generalized statement. I was poor when i first got into trucking 10 years ago now i have something to show for it house car ect even doctors and lawyers were probally poor earlier i their career while pay student loans off
Everyone is replaceable at any job not just trucking. She must be bad with finances
She speaks for her self....2020 make 82$ 21 91$ 22 87$ 23 77$ 24 so far 52$ I guess I'm broke it doesn't fill like it...😂😂😂😂
I have made over 1 million dollars driving a truck. Thsts why im so private. I have nothing to prove. 19 years 2 million safe miles im blessed.
Have a manufacturing job home everyday make about 80,ooo a year . Unless you making over 150,000 yearly not worth driving
It’s just about what you like
Look you have to be able to do more than one thing. I trucking isn’t working find something else. Good video.
That’s right. 👍🏾
Trucking is a poor man’s job depending on whom you’re driving for because some of these mega carriers pay you peanuts 🥜
One of my cousins is a trucker and makes $1500+ a week!
Good afternoon are you enjoying your vacation
I came back to work on Monday but I did enjoy my vacation. 🙏🏾
My high school history teacher told us he’s been teaching for 20 years and he gets $40,000 a year. lol
And he has a bachelor degree
Better than these college degree jobs u go 50k into debt just to be paid 50k/yearly
Sounds like she came into trucking based on bad information...somebody must've told her it was easy money
I don’t agree with her statement but I understand that it isn’t good for everyone.
All of these jobs are poor man jobs.
WE ALL WERE MAKING MORE THAN DRS, AND LAWYERS. JUST BECAUSE YOU WITH A JACKED UP COMPANY DON'T MEAN OTHERS ARE
