Every time I played X-Com 2, right before a mission, I would always watch the mission briefing and listen to the epic music and think “Man, if these guys made a game with the Avengers, it would probably be awesome.” And now we’re finally getting one! So hyped!

How do you love something you've just said you're not familiar with? It's a generic card game where you pinball enemies around. There's no skill involved. Just play a card and watch a crappy animation stutter for 10 seconds. It's a game for people who don't play games. Moreso for the casual audience. Not for fans of XCOM.
@@spraragen88 gonna have to agree with you on this one. Game looks undeniably basic and bland. Dang, I wanted it to be better. It’s just not going to be good at all.

I just don;t play too many games like these. But from what I have seen, I think I'll really like it. I'm sorry that triggers you so much LOL.
@@curlyfried3117 yeah no your just delusional you can go ahead and like the combat but you ssid nothing to disprove him it's a generic card game with superheros you can't control what you do you use a card the character use there moves and abilities it isn't interesting especially sesne when you walk around in the game it actually looks like good free roam it's better to have something that literally great games have combat that that you can actually control spiderman ps4 assassin creed batman Arkham ghost of tsushima that what this game should have been with it's combat instead it's disappointing asf if you like card games ok go ahead and enjoy this game but doesn't change how enjoyable it looks for a great game that millions will enjoy I've seen the combat and how this works is completely shit sorry you will enjoy such a terrible combat system for this game and this triggers a lot of people how terrible this is lmao

no not yet that'll likely be sometim eearly nex tyear now I'd say. I thin kit looks like they just want to focus on getting itto current gen systems first and worry about the PS4/XB1 vresions after Christmas. I'd imaine given the quick turnaround the ymanaged for the current gen the old gen will most likely be around March

Why would you let a review sway your opinion there is so much gameplay and break downs of this game you no what your buying. Basically your gonna wait until someone at ign plays and reviews it that hates tactical games
Some youtubers have done impressions on the first 10 hrs or so. You can watch those now. Most said what there was about 80% of story/ narrative and 20% of combat.

Only thing i dont like the look of is the mission areas, they all just look like a square with boxes to kick. I dont see any verticality like xcom or buildings to bust through walls and stuff. I am still getting it due to ghost rider and doctor strange. I love those 2 and i get them both.

I wish this game a success because this is a Marvel game but not an Avengers game. Iron Man , Captain America , Spider-Man , Captain Marvel they exists but out of focus. Instead of them the focus are on more awesome but underrated out-of-mcu's-focus characters like Magik , Ghost Rider , Nico , Blade , Wolverine e.t.c. Wish there would be Punisher and Moon Knight too at some point because they fall on the same underrated marvel character category. MCU based games has always been mediocre to bad. But with this complete Marvel roster I can expect at least a good story out of it none the least.

@@sjsharp2007 That's not true as in an interview they let slip that Moon Knight was on the team and never clarified if it was a mistake or not.

It was kind of the smile that suggests you've already figured this out. I've presonaly not found anything suggesting Moon Knight's in there

I was worried you'd be forced to always have the hunter in the party like a lot of these types of games but thankfully that doesn't appear to be the case
They mentioned in a live stream that u only have to have the hunter on ur squad for story quests but anything else is fair game
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Wasn't until I read your comment and looked back @0:15 and saw a squad with no hunter. Although I imagine most of the main story missions will require hunter and you can probably choose any squad on side missions.
@@BrogMan1 Yeah for main quests you need to have the Hunter because they are the defacto leader of the group for the purpose of the story. For side missions though you don't have to use them if you don't want to. I suspect I'll be using my Hunter most o fthe time though even fo rside quests.

@@bohannon2692 Yeah I think I'd want to use my Hunte respecially as I can seemyself at leas ton my first run building them up as a healer and makinmg use more of the light sided powers. As I kind of have in mind how I want my first Hunter to look and play like. Just want the game to com eou treally so I can create them and experience the story.

I just hope there aren't a lot of timed missions. That's what eventually put me off XCOM 2.
Those weren't even that bad, definitely annoying but it didn't make missions impossible unless you got extremely unlucky with enemy pods

From the reviews I’ve seen, the combat is fun but few and far between (a lot of dialogue and wandering around base camp). I hope for the game’s sake, this has been adjusted prior to release. I’m still excited for the game because I’m a true Midnight Sons fan (even though the game is full of Avengers characters). Just hoping this isn’t some cash grab and they actually make this a good triple A title. The Midnight Sons deserve it!

well all this dialogue is part of the RPG element different from other games Like Xcom here for you to get more benefits during the battle you need to interact with your teammates,There are at least 3, the spider clone was already a member and Wolverine participated in the rise of midnight sons,And soon more members will come morbius Deadpool among others,I have high hopes for this game and just like you I am also a fan of the midnight sons.
@@ArthurGhoul3555 I must've missed the part where Wolverine participated in the Rise of the Midnight Sons. I only think of "the Nine" during Rise. I actually have the Blade vs. Wolverine comic which is pretty cool so I see how he could fit in. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to bash these guys. Just as a true Midnight Sons fan, seeing Ironman, Cap and Spiderman kind of throws it off for me. Especially when you have other cool members that could use some shine. Not trying to gatekeep, just hoping they stay true to the essence of it and not just add in random Avengers because they're more mainstream. Still gonna get the game day one, just hoping for the best!

I hope it plays better on console than PC. It stutters, drops frames, crashes and is terrible to play on a 2080 and 3080 that I've tried.
The combat looks great, unfortunately according to reviews there's not that much of it & enemies are extremely repetitive. Sounds like you spend way too much time in the hub area & not enough time on missions from the reviews I've seen...gonna have to wait for a big sale on this one, kind of disappointing.
Strange because it was even shown that at least 6 types of different enemies,What is normal in addition to having the Xcom element, we have the RPG element which makes you have to focus on other things besides the battle, I who have already played Xcom found it strange but I got used to it over time.

I hate the character choices. Why is Iron man Capt America Spiderman here? The theme of the game would have resonated better if the designers stuck with magic/dark/occult themed characters like Blade and Magic. Add in characters like Wiccan, Brother Voodoo, Man thing, Morbius, Fallon Grey, Moon Knight, Daimon Hellstrom. God I could go on!
Still interested. Just not as much as if they actually LEANED into the darker side of Marvel.

There were a lot of reasons for their decisions Marketability being only one of them.

@@day1david They aren't just tacked on though, both people who have gotten to play early and the devs themselves have said it plays into the story.
It's a source of conflict in the story between the Avengers and the Midnight Suns as to who should take the lead during this threat to the world so it serves a narrative point as well.
I do get the want to have a lot more of the darker/magical side but that's not the story they wanted to tell. It's rooted in the comics but is its own universe essentially just like the MCU is it's own thing.

I am not very sure of the card based deck building game, sounds less strategic and more pick your luck.
Not strategy is still very important here, the focus of this game is to make you do with what you have, the reviews themselves confirm that the combat works.

Turn based is a dying mechanic wich kills games, this would have been better off as a marvel ultimate alliance combat situation but obviously updated to the age we live in.
