Most of the cheap minikey keyboards (like the akai mpk, for example) use plastic keybeds, where all the keys are just one big sheet of thin plastic, and everytime you press a key you bend the plastic. The more you play, the closer you are to break it. If you play slightly hard, it will break in no time. The midiplus is different. Every key is a single piece with its own spring to make tension (those springs could be a little bit softer, yeah...). Even though it's simple, and it is not perfect, i'm really happy with my Midiplus X3
John Mike's X3 review just lead me here and after watching you both I just decided to give the 6X a chance. It had same-day free mailing so it's coming at my door in any moment. Let's see how it does.
@@notsogood9449 I had it for less than a week and got a refund but I don't remember what was the exact problem that that unit had... though since I had a Roland Boutique synthesizer with its keyboard and found it to be a far better controller in many aspects (which says a lot about this one since the Boutique's was the lowest bar on keybeds) I didn't bother to ask for a replacement unit.
@@JonLafuente Amigo, los controles de DAW funcionan directamente con Ableton, Reaper y otros? Thanks for this review! Last year, I realized that I’m in the 50% of people for whom so-called “full sized” keys aren’t best. So, I’ve been looking to replace my current 61-key keyboard with something with narrower keys. It looks like this and the Korg microKey (and microKey Air) are the only 61-key keyboards that don’t have “full size” keys. The microKey can come with Bluetooth and has real pitch & mod wheels, but it doesn’t have 5-pin MIDI or the extra knobs that this one does. Also, the microKey’s keys are pretty short, and it looks like the X6 mini’s keys are a bit longer. I think I may end up with both. 😄
I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling almost guilty that I'm getting used to playing on the mini keys to where full-size synth keys almost feel like for a giant! haha I'm thinking your assessment will be exactly mine. I've even went as far as taking keyboards apart and seeing how easy to replace the springs with more ideal ones... The cheap ones get some things right. the pricey ones get some things right. gonna have to start making my own or swapping parts ; )
I'm looking for a keyboard to use in my DAW with USB and to use to controller synths with 5 pin. Do you think this would be a good option? I can't find any other keyboards that have USB and 5 pin.
i got the x4 cuz im broke i just got fl stu the other day and i hate using the computer keyboard as my keyboard its horrible!!! i cant wait to get this thing in the mail!!
Im actually am not sure how to get those to work. I believe it would be something you set up with in your daw. Like Midi learn. Im pretty sure they dont do anything out of the box.
1- Which is better for using in FL studio: black Star carry on folding 88 keys. Or Yamaha reface yc or miDiPLUS X6 mini? 2- I like paly 88 keys so how can play 88 th keys on FL studio by 37 th keys on midi controller?
Hi friend, how about the transport controls for the DAWs? This controller uses the Mackie protocol or just plain MMC? Does this works controlling Ableton, Cakewalk, Reaper and others with no extra configuration? Thanks.
Hi friend, is possible to use the X6 Mini as a MIDI (DIN) interface when you connected to the PC? That is, using usb MIDI and DIN (standard) MIDI at the same time, for DAW controlling of the external old hardware bypassing the X6.
Those stiff black keys are to reduce accidentally pressing notes, again because of the the same reason we love it: because of the mini keys. That in my estimation is a pro. Manufacturers of mini key keyboards, take note.
El simple echo de que tenga las teclas completas me parece que dice mucho de la calidad, además creo que midiplus cada vez viene realizando mejor las cosas, las teclas se parecen a los arturia minilab
You can map one of those knobs to MIDI CC 1 (mod wheel) I'm pretty sure, not sure how myself but there should be freeware software online that can do it.
sssameee. rest of the keyboard is pretty nice but the pitch-wheel touch strip sucks really bad x-X i mean arturia keystep also has a touch strip but that one is quite responsive, the midiplus feels laggy and has huge deadzone in the middle \O-o/

So... 2 years later. How did you like this keyboard?

Ordered mine from Amazon this morning to control my 4 stand alone synths. Can’t wait to get it next week…
Thanks a lot for such an informative video. Could you please let me know whether they keys are smaller widthwise compared to a fullsized keyoard?
Me encantó, excelente review! compro por este video.
esta llegando en 2 dias, realmente lo compre por este video, quizá podrías hablar con los de midiplus por una comisión jaja.

How it compares to a Korg microKEY in terms of key action???

I have the midiplus x3 and Reaper. It's not that hard to set it up to control (at least) basic transport functions with the buttons on the keyboard
In Indonesia, for a 49keys. It's around $ 115. My country market is sucks.
ajg emang 😂
Thanks for review. 2 years later, Amazon says "Full size key with velocity sensitive". Have they changed or is this just wrong?
I was wrong. MIDIPLUS X6 III MIDI Keyboard Controller. Spotted the diffence. Buying, now. Thanks, again.
Hello my friend, this midi keyboard have transpose button?
Do your iPhone or iPad’s batteries discharge fast when you connect to this midi controller? ?

does it work with ableton live?
What piano software could be used with this? Thank you, and may God go with you.
I’m sure any piano plug-in or software will work with it.
Can I use this to control my mp7 beat machine without usb?
For me the pitch control is pretty much unusable, but the modulation is usable. Other than that, pretty good and above all, minimalistic.
I thought I was the only one
