So interesting - a fantastic detailed tour!
Very cool to see, but couldn’t stop looking at the Cessna O-2B in the background.
This aircraft is a KC-97, the KC-97L has jet engines also.
👍
while working at Dow AFB in Bangor Maine in 1957 a KC97 tanker landed short and burst into flames all the crew made it out from the front of the plane, they were based there along with F-89s and F-86s
Wow very interesting close up of this aircraft, have only been close to one of these at the Air Museum in Madrid. I also recall the 🇮🇱 airforce flying into my local airport (London-Luton) back in the late 1970’s early 80’s👍👏
👍
I was a boom operator on the KC-97L with the Arizona Air Guard.
That right there is a re-purposed B29
I'm wondering if that was plane they based the Super Guppy on?
Could be

She sits in a deep slumber, dreaming of the days when she flew.
Nice to see one in a close up video. Connection to Curtis LeMay and his work with the SAC.
I traveled one of these from Goose Bay NF to San Francisco with a stop for fuel in Montana about 1963. May have been this one.
