What's better to remove makeup: micellar water or cleansing balm? My thoughts... |

- People constantly ask if they can use micellar water to cleanse their skin at night. Of course you can! I know plenty of people that like to use micellar water as their first cleanse, then go in with a water-based cleanser like a gel or foam. But I personally believe a double cleanse with an oil-based cleanser, followed by a water-based cleanser is superior. It’s nourishing for your skin, it’s quicker, and you avoid any tugging and stretching of your skin.
Someone prove to me they can get a full glam off their face quicker with micellar water and without a lot of tugging and irritation!

I always breaks out with oil cleanser even after double cleansing. One of top esthetician mentioned if it doesn’t work for you, it’s not meant for you. I learned that the hard way. I tried every oil cleanser then breaking out, trying to figure out which one would best. 😅 but if they don’t work for you they don’t work for you
have you tried removing the cleansing oil residue with a microfiber cloth, that’s another way to prevent breaks out from cleansing oil
Just use what works for you. There's no need to follow other people
Have u tried the cerave one?
I just switched to micellar water. Some oil cleansers are too pore clogging. I also use CeraVe cleansing balm sometimes too.
Cleansing oils probably didn’t work because you had to use large amounts of the oil to remove most of the makeup which will leave behind on your face. But the cleansing BALMS solid texture really saves from excessive amount being used and nothing will be left behind after washing it off anyways as cleansing balms remove my toughest makeup. Eyeliner, mascara, etc. Micellar water doesn’t work to gently remove certain makeup or sunscreen. Just clearing this all up so some people don’t go ahead and buy micellar water because it really “ruined” my face, I thought I got everything off but i actually wasn’t and it took SO long to remove my makeup, and I wouldn’t be able to remove my mascara with micellar water without having a lash or two pulled out, (I have sensitive eyes) I hated taking off my makeup. I tugged so hard. My face was always dry asf after. Cleansing balms have made the experience SO much less time consuming and fun, my skin isn’t dull anymore and I don’t deal with acne as much, and I can do it just in three minutes and don’t have to worry if I didn’t get everything off, It has insanely helped my skin.
But sometimes you don’t wanna wet your face all over. I hate getting my arms and counter wet when the water drips down. It’s so much dryer to use the micellar.
Oil cleansers or balms don’t work for everyone and that’s okay.
For acne prone skin miscellar water works best because cleansing balms and oils have comedogenic ingredients.
Yes cleansing oils are very pore clogging for me. I just switched to micellar water and I’m happy after just one night of use. I also tried CeraVe cleansing balm it’s also great.
If I use cleansing balm or oil at least twice a week and really massage it in for several minutes there is a noticeable difference in my pore size. It really helps reduce the size of sebum plugs
I take my eye make up off first with micellar water, and then the rest with cleansing balm.
And cleansing balm is less wasteful! No cotton rounds needed
This cleansing balm is amazing as a regular cleanser as well, especially those with rosacea or sensitive skin. I am in love with this product!! I’ve already been through two tubs!
Love the cleansing balm. ❤️
May I please get the details on this cleansing balm, the one in the purple jar? Thank you 🙏🏾
Does this make your eyes blurry ? Most balms do that to me which I don’t like since I wear contacts
First I use Ponds Cold Cream, then micellar water and then CeraVe cleanser.
This is very misleading and a good reason why I have completely cut off ALL "skinfluencers." I have acne-prone, combination/oily, sensitive skin with surface dehydration, and double cleaning with an oil based cleanser/balm did not work for my skin because it was not right for my skin. Not only could I never remove the residue because my second cleanser was so gentle, I found it to be messy. It works great for dry skin types, but you have acne-prone or sensitive skin tread with caution. Dr Sam Bunting speaks well on this topic, affirming that if you're not careful, you can disturb your skin's micobiome with double cleansing, no matter how gentle it is.
Wait what product was it ?!!
Can I use vaseline instead?
I just hate making my sink, arms, and shirt all wet. With micellar water i can do it literally anywhere even camping or in the car.
Facial cleansing cuffs should help because I don’t like this as well.
Love the cleansing balm but it burns my eyes unfortunately when I remove eye makeup
I use the naturium cleansing oil on eyes with no stinging. (Naturium: Fermented Camelia Creamy Cleansing oil) oils and balms are a little messy with mascara but I like how gentle it is on my lashes.
Will your sunscreen be available at target?
I used an oil cleanser one! Time and it gave me pimples!!!!!!
ORR YOU CAN TAKE A COTTON PAD AND PUT MICELLAR WATER BLOW THROUGH THE OTHER SIDE AND MICELLAR FOAM!
I wish this was fragrance free because then I would buy it all!
The cleansing balm is fragrance free 👍
You do both because even oil cleaners don’t fully get rid of all the makeup
nah id rather have a big bottle of micellar water for 5 euros then like probably 10 for that, it works
Micellar water gives me styes on my eyes. Just cleanser for me!
I’m in loveeee with cleansing balm. It feels so much better than scrubbing with micellar, and actually cleans it all off
