Nick, I really wish they would fix locking layers. Here's what I mean. Make two layers, add a red rectangle to each layer, lock one of the layers, select the unlocked rectangle and then go to the Select Menu-Select Same- Fill Color, Affinity Designer will select both rectangles, even though that layer is locked. What is the point of a lock layer button if it doesn't exclude ALL objects contained in that layer from selection? I work with complex CAD files with hundred of layers and thousands of objects. Locking a layer should exclude it's objects from selection. No workarounds needed. Am I missing something?
It's pretty major if you use those functions. The affinity suite continues to be my best investment (program wise) to date.

The resetting the selection box is going to be a great help! I hope that cycling the A/V shortcuts won't be a problem with a pen and tablet. A joy with a mouse though.

The States feature is nice at first glance but it feels to me to be a complicated way to do what regular layers in other vector apps can already do much simpler. In those other apps you would just put the objects you want to isolate (text, icons, etc...) on their own layers, then turn them on or off. Designers "artboard as a container" type of workflow won't allow multiple different objects on different artboards be on the same layer. States in its current form seems a bit like a workaround to do what other apps can do right out of the box.
Yeah those artboard containers can be troublesome at times

@@kevinhouse7143 Just like in Blender fe. make single effect, reuse here and there, without duplicating stuff. It's "multidimensional", layers are just an oldschool 1 dimension.

How does the 'toggle selection tools' work on the iPad. The double-click pencil option is still inconsistent.

I'm having issues with creating more than one of the queries as when I do, it wants to repeat the one before it. Following your guide, I could never get it to do exactly as yours was doing, at all. Has this been an issue for you at all?

Very meh, updates lately. I won't bother with Designer until they decide to give us a real vector brush and a width tool.
