I believe that Wheelock had to redesign the internals of the LED Exceders within the past few years because of a new NFPA mandate requiring a maximum LED strobe flash time of 20ms.
+Fahrenheit4051 That is definitely true. Probably because clear strobes travel farther and alert people more quickly (although this usually isn't a constant).
I just got a box of 20 of these, but with white housing!
I got a wheelock exceder yesterday

I like the yellowish-orange hue of the LED 🙂. I wonder if it's meant for GA purposes as opposed to fire alarm that is.
Great video!
Thanks! This is intended for "mass notification" - basically anything outside of a fire you may need to notify the building of.
+kcin556 Ah that figures 😉. It'd pretty interesting if it was used as a fire alarm device I will say..... (probably confuse a lot of people too 😅)
Well, fire alarms in new installations are required to have clear strobe lights to distinguish them from other types of signals.

+fireandalarm1234 And also distinguishing other strobes too. Didn't forget that
Awesome video man!! Cooper notification just sent me a whole box of exceders and led 3 devices!!
Thanks! That sounds cool!
Nice video
Thanks!
How did you turn off the horn
Cool. What's this used for instead of a fire alarm.
spectralert integrity 2 hello! This would be used for mass notification, such as a tornado alert, or a co alarm!
Carbon Monoxide notification actually uses clear, as it requires evacuation.
Awesome!
Thanks!
Nice!
