Watchig this almost 5 years later its amazing to see how far all the girls have come. Even the ones that didn't continue in elite are THRIVING in college gymnastics!
This was posted fast. I usually have to wait a while after the competition to see this but this was posted 12 hours after the competition. I'm happy yall posted fast. I can't get the Olympic Channel so this is great
That was my thought. "What? Already? I don't have to wait a couple of days to a week?" Cool. I watched the international stream, but I like little news and tidbits commentators give about the girls, especially with so many new ones.
I think its weird how some of those juniors are better than the seniors. I really like emma malabuyo and maile o'keefe! I feel like they have potentiom to dominate 2018
Ragan was one of my favorites last year but she is by far my favorite now. She seems so confident and solid this year... It's amazing how much she's improved.
Worlds after Olympics is not that important because there is no team competition. But I really want them to comeback on 2018. 2019 is too long a break LOL
I think people need to take into consideration the fact that the US is the only country currently competing without any of their former olympians... imagine how literally any other country would be doing in that situation.
Farrah Shabir the final five was taking a break for a while, especially after the Olympics and they just wanted some time off to recover. I thinks it’s nice though to let some lesser known gymnasts to get in the spotlight. I’m pretty sure all of them except gabby (who I think might be retiring) and Madison (who is in college gymnastics) are coming back
dancer2017 Simone’s back now and Laurie is coming back in 2019. Aly said she would come back but it doesn’t seem like she will after all of her problems with USAG.
Morgan's floor routine . . . I am "shooketh", as the children say. The chosen soundtrack, the musicality, the dance (I don't know if I'm allowed to call it that in a gymnast setting but I'm a dancer so), I loved it!
mychannel5614 they said at the beginning the scores would be lower due to an element no longer being required for the routines. They didn't specify what. Only at the 10 min mark though.
People need to realize that the first competition after the Olympics is always shaky. It includes many new juniors and seniors trying to make their mark and build up experience as the olympics come closer. During the years leading up to 2012, there wasn't a lot of great gymnastics being done at all the big competitions, but 2012 ended up being a shining year for us gymnastics. The girls who just competed in the Olympics don't come back until about a couple years later. It's nothing new, this is literally what happens after every Olympics.
Most of her competitors are absolutely dominating in college now - Maile O’Keefe and Abby Paulson at Utah, Ragan Smith at Oklahoma, Luisa Blanco at Alabama, Jade Carey at Oregon State (who also won gold on floor at the Olympics), Olivia Dunne and Alyona Shchennikova at LSU, Trinity Thomas, Riley McCusker, and Morgan Hurd (injured) at Florida, Margzetta Frazier, Emma Malabuyo (Olympic alternate), Kaly Steele, and Jordan Chiles (also an Olympic silver medalist) at UCLA
I have to admit that Team USA has really improved on UB, and the artistry on floor is also quite there ! The only thing that bothers me is that I no longer feel as confident as before when they are performing.. I remember being so sure they would nail it and deliver on every event last year ! obviously it was an Olympic year, but it's just a feeling
I really like Riley's gymnastics but I am not confident she will have the endurance to last all the way to Tokyo especially with all the injuries she has been dealing with but only time will tell
Unfortunately I agree. I know this is her first year as a senior, but she keeps having major errors at competitions, which makes me doubt her mental finesse as well. Hopefully she'll be able to perform better at nationals. I wish the best for her, and hope she can stay healthy to pursue whatever shes wants, whether that's 2020 and/or her future collegiate career with the Gators!
trinibwoy27 honestly if you look back, there have been really bad moments for the best gymnasts today. For example, not a lot of people thought Nastia was going to win AA because of the amount of injuries she endured coming up to the Olympics. I do think she will last, but that will be very sad if she doesn't continue.
Honestly I think a big part of it is Maggies fault. For example she JUST started putting full routines together last week after injury, and in her interview prior to classics she had said she's not ready. She's already qualified Nationals, she should have just skipped this and used the time to recover a bit more.
I agree 100%. I think she is trying to "push" Riley into the spotlight instead of letting it come naturally. Riley is no Laurie. Granted, Riley has beautiful lines and execution, but she's no Laurie. I think Maggie should take a page out of Chow's book and let Riley heal.
Riley does seem like a fragile gymnast and I am sure her coach Maggie Haney will burn her out in the end. I think a bit more experience is needed for her she does have the potential to be successful internationally, Simone was all over the place in her first senior year and then come worlds she was a rock and just flew from there. Lets just see what happens.
I know right? We didn't get to see one routine from either Trinity or Shania, who placed 6th. But, yet we watched 3 routines from a Texas Dreams gymnast who placed lower. Honestly, it's like free advertisement for Texas Dreams. We saw all their gymnasts routines. What are they paying NBC?
no one's talking about it but Sunisa's bars routine looks promising. idk if she's an "up-and-coming" in the gymternet but like... i was mindblown at all those seamless connections. i know it wasn't flawless, but considering she's very young junior and the next olympics won't be for 3 years, i'm still excited. she has time to become great
distinctly remember watching this meet four years ago and focusing on suni... she had an okay-average bar routine here, but you could just see the unbelievable raw talent and difficulty. then the years went by and she faded for a bit. so excited to see her in tokyo. whoever picked the thumbnail at USAG probably felt the same way. i bet they also had an inkling that she had great potential.
I love that there are UA-cam channels for gymnastics! And USA Gym. is great! I do have a complaint about the actual filmed coverage...why do they film the young ladies on the sidelines for so long when there's a gymnast actually competing an event?
I'm sorry but not a single routine from Emma Malabuyo? Who was not only the highest scoring all-arounder of the night but also posted the HIGHEST floor score so far this quad (in the world)! How incredibly disappointing.
Thanks for always posting these vids. I love to watch them. I started watching the 2007 us classic and here I am about a week later watching 2017. I can't wait to see 2018.
Olympic quality gymnastic competitions enjoy good announcers. I think it was Tim Daggett who was very informative during Olivia Dunne's bars when he explained the podium effect. I was always curious what was meant by 'podium training.'
You couldn't ask for a better person to take over for Marta!!!! Valeri's track record w his gymnasts is outstanding, and he was an incredible gymnast in his own right!!! Very, very pleased w what I see.
As a huge USA Gymnastics fan in my opinion the greatest advantage the Women have over the rest of the world in Team Competition is CONSISTENCY!!!! If any team wants to beat Team USA they would have to hit 12/12 and hope USA hits maybe 9/12 or 8/12
trinibwoy27 I agree (I'm a big fan aswell) I believe that once 2018 worlds roll around these gymnasts will be ready and other big countries (Russia, GB, China, and I've heard Italy has been doing well) won't be able to hit like USA.
I really hate to say this, and maybe it's just because it's a brand new quad, but the US seniors this year are just disappointing. The JUNIORS looked far more promising than the top 3 seniors. :/
Usually in the year prior to an Olympic year, gymnastics are trying out new skills in competition and especially the ones who could be going to like worlds and stuff, so that may be why.
I know it's a rebuilding year but I have to say I was not all that impressed with what we have this year. We have two with some experience but even Ragan hasn't been to a Worlds comp and Ashton has been to one I believe. I know it will get better. Just makes me nervous for them!
You are right, I know that some top gymnast didn't compete all around but az Euros this year there were a lot better AA scores than this... But the US is strong and gonna be a lot stronger when worlds come for sure.
Heather Wicker this comp was also just a lot of bad timing with many injuries happening right before it (Riley, Gabby, Morgan, etc) so it's expected it would be a rough comp. I'm nervous for them too but I know it'll get better
Heather Wicker I'm way more impressed with the juniors this year. It doesn't seem like many of the seniors right not will be able to hold on until 2020 with the amazing juniors we have.
I know it's early in the season but I was hoping to see more competition, didn't see any of them that really got my attention. Time will tell it's going to be too easy for Simone when she comes back.
Erik Garcia ikr, Simone and even the other gymnasts in the final five (except Madison) will dominate so much if the seniors stay this way. You won’t even have to watch the competition to know who will be the top gymnasts
From this competition alone it is evident that Team USA has taken a few steps down the ladder. There is some exciting talent for sure, Morgan Hurd is by far my favourite and of course Ragan Smith is going to be the leader this year. Other than those two I don't see the same depth we saw 4 years ago when competition season started again. Having Simone, Laurie and Aly back will make a huge difference but without those three Team USA will need to keep an eye of what's going on behind their shoulder because in the last few months I have seen some AMAZING training videos from the Russian juniors! I'm sure Team USA will still be the top team this quad but they better watch out.
My favorite part of every broadcast done by Johnathan Roethlisberger is when he completely fanboys over Valeri Liukin. Not that Valeri doesn't deserve the acclaim he has, but it's hilarious...especially because Johnathan is freaking about over Valeri to Nastia.
Tim and John " You know what really stuck out toobme was the toe point, if anyone has better toe point I haven't seen it." Nastia (thinking) "I have better toe point have you seen my bars?"
The Juniors were not actually competing against the Seniors they were competing WITH not against. A select number of Junior athletes who have shown a lot of "promise" were selected to compete WITH the Seniors to give them additional opportunity to compete on a podium. Very few of the Junior competitions are on a podium and the equipment (even floor exercise) feels different on the elevated surface. It is a benefit for these promising Junior athletes. After the completion of this competition the Juniors who competed with the Seniors will have their scores compared to the other Juniors and the odds are that one of the selected Juniors will end up winning the Junior event of the Classic.
Watchig this almost 5 years later its amazing to see how far all the girls have come. Even the ones that didn't continue in elite are THRIVING in college gymnastics!
definitely!!
A melhor de todas é katelj, vejo os vídeos dela..maravilhosa
This was posted fast. I usually have to wait a while after the competition to see this but this was posted 12 hours after the competition. I'm happy yall posted fast. I can't get the Olympic Channel so this is great
I agree. My niece just started gymnastics. She is extremely excited while watching this quickly posted competition.
I hope she does good!
Alex Arulf regan in the international feed thumbnail she is in a pink Leo and here the rainbow one
That was my thought. "What? Already? I don't have to wait a couple of days to a week?" Cool. I watched the international stream, but I like little news and tidbits commentators give about the girls, especially with so many new ones.
Same. Remember we had to wait like 2 whole years to get an NBC Broadcast on youtube for like 2014 Worlds?
Oh my gosh I love ragan Smith's leo! It's so unique and bright!
Michelle Marble Halling she always has awesome Leo's
I think its weird how some of those juniors are better than the seniors. I really like emma malabuyo and maile o'keefe! I feel like they have potentiom to dominate 2018
Carla Portal yep, and gabby perea too
and Gabby Perea. Tbh I feel that the 2020 Olympic team will be made entirely of past Olympians and juniors of today.
I see Sydney Morris (from 1st Class Gymnastics) making it too She is 12 but she competed in HOPES Championship this year!!
Yeah, some juniors are better because as you get older, you get less flexible and heavier.
The juinors don't usually raise their difficulty level this high, though. I do hope that this isn't their peak and that they can keep improving
That lady singing scared me. The girls were great
Ragan was one of my favorites last year but she is by far my favorite now. She seems so confident and solid this year... It's amazing how much she's improved.
Am I the only one that while I was watching this thinking about how much I wanted Laurie and Simone to come back?
No, not at all. I was thinking that as well
Worlds after Olympics is not that important because there is no team competition. But I really want them to comeback on 2018. 2019 is too long a break LOL
I saw Laurie in an interview say she would be back in the gym this summer. So, hopefully we will see her competing by the end of next year.
Trust me, I was too
MacKensy Lynn I want Douglas and Biles to come back more than anything.
Gymnast: *flinches*
Tim: wow... that it just a HUGE mistake. What a travesty. Poor girl she’ll never recover from this. Ever.
Thanks for uploading so quickly. I hope they keep John over Al for the commentary, John is so much better
Thank you for posting this
I think people need to take into consideration the fact that the US is the only country currently competing without any of their former olympians... imagine how literally any other country would be doing in that situation.
Simone Biles is said to be potentially coming back. We'll see.....
USMC Vet She was training early this year
why are they competing without them?
Farrah Shabir the final five was taking a break for a while, especially after the Olympics and they just wanted some time off to recover. I thinks it’s nice though to let some lesser known gymnasts to get in the spotlight. dancer2017 Simone’s back now and Laurie is coming back in 2019. Aly said she would come back but it doesn’t seem like she will after all of her problems with USAG.
Sunisa lee was fantastic for a 14 year old.
This comment really aged well!! She’s now an Olympic Gold Medalist! All-Around Champion!
Morgan's floor routine . . . I am "shooketh", as the children say. The chosen soundtrack, the musicality, the dance (I don't know if I'm allowed to call it that in a gymnast setting but I'm a dancer so), I loved it!
The gymnast are all so so so so so so so good, flexible, strong, amazing and inspiring
Is it just me or do the deductions seem way too harsh for most of the routines?
mychannel5614 they said at the beginning the scores would be lower due to an element no longer being required for the routines. They didn't specify what. Only at the 10 min mark though.
each event (bars, beam, floor) got a CR removed. something about repetition in CR but I cant remember exactly
mychannel5614 yeah I barely saw any scores under 1.3 in deductions.
Ok- so I am LOVING A LOT of these leos! :)
Leah Terry me too!
Thank you for uploading so fast (:

Anyone else surprised by Valeri's voice?
Me!
Ms Trellyn K-G it’s to far away from Nastia’s!
me! I thought he has that Russian voice from movies.
Its like a cross between a russian acccent and southern accent
It’s a tough sport..almost all of Suni’s competitors are unheard of now…it’s crazy how far she has come! :)
Riley is a beautiful gymnast, I just wish she was more consistent
Just keep watching her... 😀

Adeline Kenlin on beam was beautiful! I had to instantly rewatch her routine and write down her name. I hope she makes it through this quad to Tokyo.
morgan’s floor routine omg my heart :) this is beautiful
Stupid wolf turns!!!
am I the only one that watches UB and always calls out short handstand positions 😂😂😂😂😂
trinibwoy27 nope
I do the same with sickled feet. :P
Haha nope and I feel like such a hypocrite but I can't help myself!!
haha I do
Every time.
Baby suni!!! Can’t believe she’s the AA gold medalist now!
This speedy upload is SO appreciated! Thanks, USAG.
"does anyone have better toe point?" um, u forgot someone that was sitting right next you
Xiaocai Falls lol true and vika
Pretty sure she forgot during every one of her bars dismounts too
anna rodionova as well
Nina Tian Can I just say for the record that Kaitlin DeGuzman has the best toe point ever.
And Komova
Thank you so much for posting this coverage! And congratulations to all the gymnasts who competed today.
I wish they televised trinity that's a shame that they didn't she had a good bars and beam
Exactly
I know right? We didn't get to see one routine from either Trinity or Shania, who placed 6th. But, yet we watched 3 routines from a Texas Dreams gymnast who placed lower. Honestly, it's like free advertisement for Texas Dreams. We saw all their gymnasts routines. What are they paying NBC?
Ikr I love Trinity’s work. And a lot of gymnasts weren’t showed either, despite some of them not being shown being much better than those showed
I'm in love with the leo Raegan was wearing 😍😍😍😍

I liked the creativity in some of the mounts/dismounts both on beam and bars
Riley debuting the tucked tkatchev lol
Halfway through Riley McCusker’s floor routine I realized her music was from The Nightmare Bedore Christmas when I started to sing along to it.
Im a swimmer i dont like to do gymnastics but its just beautiful to see it like this the Olympics are my favorite time of the year
Reaghan Aurelia omg same! im a swimmer to and im still obsessed with watching and following gymnastics ahah
I love that there are UA-cam channels for gymnastics! And USA Gym. is great! I do have a complaint about the actual filmed coverage...why do they film the young ladies on the sidelines for so long when there's a gymnast actually competing an event?

Joseph Bender that is the senior competition I think
Ikr 😭😭
kinda insane they didn't show the greatest gymnast of the competition which happens to have a really fun and engaging fx routine
i know !! she's amazing, i love watching emma!
Joseph Bend
. er
I wonder if it is weird or awkward for Nastia since that is her dad
I really wish they would stop mentioning that it is her dad. We all know it. They should really just drop the subject.
mjamitche5 yeah I know.
Thanks for always posting these vids. I love to watch them. I started watching the 2007 us classic and here I am about a week later watching 2017. I can't wait to see 2018.
Morgan Hurd's floor routine is amazing! And Smith's beam

Outstanding in breaking them to pieces yes, cries in Rebecca Bross and Katelyn Ohashi.
I love Regan's leotard😍😍😩😩❤️
Thank you! :) So happy to be able to see it
The floor music during Riley McCusker's beam routine is the same song Macy Toronjo from the UCLA Bruins uses!
I love how reagan gives her teammates a pep talk before they go on:)
Unbelievable save by Margz at 28:38. How she stayed on on that Pak is mind-blowing
As a huge USA Gymnastics fan in my opinion the greatest advantage the Women have over the rest of the world in Team Competition is CONSISTENCY!!!! If any team wants to beat Team USA they would have to hit 12/12 and hope USA hits maybe 9/12 or 8/12

Well, we have to wait until 2018 since they don't do full-team worlds after olympics (after 2001 disaster worlds)
Kameron Coleman why don't they do full teams after the olympics?
Well this didn't age well in Tokyo
Petition to Stop Wolf Turns
If one ever comes around,I’ll sign it!
Riley's floor music makes me so happy
Also, love John as a commentator!
Catriona of Doom - Get rid of Al Trautwig and add John R!
I love the Texas Dreams leos.
Ragan's beam routine reminds me of Aly's because she has the layout and the front pike and she can do a Patterson dismount
I can't believe Ragan is a veteran now wtfff she will always be a baby to me omg
Why didnt they show any of trinity's routines? :(
I'm so sick of wolf turns.
Ms Trellyn K-G same they don't look nice
Ehh its just a fad it will go in time
You know you love it
It's like everyone has forgotten that Terin Humphrey did it in the 2004 Olympics
Everybody is doing it now
Wait was that divergent music omg I'm obsessed
Thank you for the very quick posting!
I really hate to say this, and maybe it's just because it's a brand new quad, but the US seniors this year are just disappointing. The JUNIORS looked far more promising than the top 3 seniors. :/

I love these kind of UA-camrs
its just classics people RELAX!!
Jai Sylu thank u!
I have to say thank you for getting this up as quickly as you did!! Big ups!
I actually got kind of emotional not seeing the girls from the last Secret in competition... I'm glad that Regan and Ashton came back though
Taylor Duda right it's so different
Great competition. Look forward in a few weeks for the P&G Championships to tweak up their routines.................
That dismount at 22:37 is incredible!
Omg look at Sunisa now!!🔥
Surprised Jade Carey's floor wasn't shown. I know they did it live tho so can understand.
Regan reminds me of Shawn Johnson.
they need to make those damn wolf turns illegal cause it's not working for most of them 😒
Insane that they choose not to show malabuyo's floor, which was one the greatest thing of this competition
Thanks so much for posting this !!!!! :)
so happy to see this so quickly, Thank you
Yes! They got rid of Al Trautwig!
I'm so excited to see Emma as a senior. She's amazing and scoring so high already!
Does anyone hear riley mccuskers floor music from 2019 in the background?
Good job guys!!
I know it's a rebuilding year but I have to say I was not all that impressed with what we have this year. We have two with some experience but even Ragan hasn't been to a Worlds comp and Ashton has been to one I believe. I know it will get better. Just makes me nervous for them!
Heather Wicker Valeri has basically implied he's more excited about the current juniors than seniors. Still, there is some amazing gymnastics here
Heather Wicker Remember the 2013 US Classic, we all said that as well... now look at them. xD
Q A L A X Y why except Madison ?
Yael Colombres Madison is competing for UCLA. She won't be coming back to elite gymnastics.
Yael Colombres Madison is competing for UCLA. She won't be coming back to elite gymnastics.
Thanks for this video ! 🙂
Great video
Just watched Make it or break it, and I can never look at this the same again
From this competition alone it is evident that Team USA has taken a few steps down the ladder. There is some exciting talent for sure, Morgan Hurd is by far my favourite and of course Ragan Smith is going to be the leader this year. Other than those two I don't see the same depth we saw 4 years ago when competition season started again. Having Simone, Laurie and Aly back will make a huge difference but without those three Team USA will need to keep an eye of what's going on behind their shoulder because in the last few months I have seen some AMAZING training videos from the Russian juniors! I'm sure Team USA will still be the top team this quad but they better watch out.
this is Halloween
this is Halloween
Didn’t show trinity or jades floor???? (Didn’t show any of trinities routines actually)

3. Maile O
4. Morgan H
5. Sunisa???
1. Simone B
2. Jay Jay M

4. Sunisa Lee
Event Spot Ashton L and Regan S
If gabby comes back she could be a good option
1.Aly
2.Ragan
3.Abi Walker
4.Ashton
I love how the commentators like Abbi Walker she is amazing and she really can make worlds
Seriously, all the athletes are starting their routines with that HORRIBLE wolf turn! ugh
47:19 awesome transition.. she looked like a dolphin up there! wow
Does anyone know the music (or gymnast) starting at 13:05, while Sunisa was doing her bars routine? It's gorgeous!
We didn't even get to see one routine from Kalyany Steel or Luisa Blanco, the 2nd and 3rd place medalists. What kind of coverage is this?
Riley McCuster’s floor music...
Is that ‘This is Halloween’ from The Nightmare Before Christmas; the instrumentals?
My favorite part of every broadcast done by Johnathan Roethlisberger is when he completely fanboys over Valeri Liukin. Not that Valeri doesn't deserve the acclaim he has, but it's hilarious...especially because Johnathan is freaking about over Valeri to Nastia.
Tim and John " You know what really stuck out toobme was the toe point, if anyone has better toe point I haven't seen it."
Nastia (thinking) "I have better toe point have you seen my bars?"
