The reason why our (or my) first choice is Vegas is for a couple reasons. The $/sf is significantly cheaper there, even in nicer areas like Summerlin, and there are a lot of new builds. You can live in a newly built mansion for the price you'd pay in Socal for a shack. Secondly, seeing friends. People visit Vegas all the time for work or for fun so seeing friends would be much easier than if we were in Houston or Seattle. We might end up seeing friends more often in Vegas than here (LA). Not that we want to, since we are insane introverts but the option is nice to have. Lastly, retail. The food scene, large gyms, large Wholefoods, Hmart opening, parking, no traffic, clean bathrooms, low gas prices. No shortage of retail in Vegas which makes life easier. And also no state income tax and lower sales tax.
Ever think of Arizona! Affordable, It’s clean, Good Asian base of restaurants, markets etc., good proximity to Cali and Vegas, more to do and see (unless you love the strip).
Eventually, it wont make sense to live in California for the state taxes alone once your income from this channel becomes too high. Hope this isn't a gambling addicts veiled desire to move to Vegas lol
Summerlin ain’t that cheap anymore. If you want a nice 3000+ sq ft home it’s easily 1.1 million and up with a new build, likely 1.5 if you want nice finishes. If you’re truly looking for a mansion it’s much more than that. Still cheaper than LA, but it’s comparable to some nice areas in SoCal. There are other nice areas where you’d get much more bang for your buck. That said, vegas is dope. I live in summerlin as well. Moved here in 2019 from LA. My partner and I are both Asian and we feel like we have everything we need our here, and no state income tax absolutely helps. the reality is it’s only hot 3-4 months out of the year and it’s a bit chilly in the wintertime. Vegas is known for outdoors activity so you’ll see people out hiking and stuff 8 months out of the year.
This is what I recommend. Try an Airbnb in the area you are thinking of staying. Make it like at least a week long in June or August. Get the local paper and watch the local tv. Go about doing your videos. Meet the neighbors. Basically do all the things you do now at your current home. See how you like it. In mean time get the news from the area you’re thinking off moving to. This way you get to see how you like it at the most challenging time of year.
@ it begins hot season and school it out. Get crowded and you get to feel the crowd. Other time that would be fun would be when the F1 race is occurring. You could do a theme around that. However, I suspect that the rates would be pretty high.
This was one of the most refreshing UA-cam content I’ve seen in a while and the fact that it’s without any crazy editing, and voice overs, and video intros. Less is def more especially when you have two really genuine people. It’s this that we lack so much rn. Also as a self-employed small business owner, I completely relate to all your considerations regarding what is sustainable, what can you do long term. When I first started I never really thought that far except for day to day profits and sales. It’s daunting figuring out everything alone. But like your wife said, nothing is set in stone, you don’t have to figure it all out-thank you, advice I needed too :).
14:51 “You don’t have to figure it out, not everyone has it all figured out” Thank you for sharing this! I found the conversation to be so honest and heartfelt. As a content creator myself, I can relate to parts of your story, though on a much smaller scale. You two have really good communication skills between one another. ❤ I think your baby boy is so precious! 😊 The one factor I'd dislike about living in Nevada would be that damn heat. 😅
That baby boy is hungry! Smelling all of that deliciousness has got to be hard on the little guy!💞🦋 So funny I actually wrote this comment before seeing the whole video and you almost said the same thing about knowing or associating cooking means foods coming! When my babies were little and we were at Sunday dinner with the grandparents the babies would start to cry about 1/2 hour before dinner was ready. Grams would always mix a little mashed potatoes into their bottle of milk and they were so happy and always slept a little longer with something more than liquid in their little tummy’s. 🍼😋🫃🏻🤰🏻🛌💤😴
OMG! Cool! I live in Vegas. Moved here from the upper Midwest in 2023. It's too crazy HOT for me during the Summer, LoL. I love the winter weather, though! Traffic is no different from L.A. But to be honest Vegas is always popping and good for influencers. But your mom will miss you guys!! 😢 So excited for you guys too!! Summerlin is a great area!
Had a feeling vegas was where you were thinking of moving before even watching this video. I’m in Vegas and have been here for 30 years, I’m 34 now if that matters and I work in the food and beverage industry. I used to go to cali at least once a year for the food and everything but almost everything that’s found success in cali has made its way here. Anything that’s popping in the world seems to be making its way here if it isn’t here already. Housing is more expensive compared to years ago of course but still much much cheaper than many places especially considering there’s so much growth to be had here still. Weather sucks but honestly for the most part we are indoors for everything most of the time anyways.
I left California for Summerlin three years ago and LOVE IT!!! Summerlin is like the OC without the beach. And it’s sadly only hot for three months. I’m freezing rn. But open up a snow cake place or a real California taqueria. We don’t have those yet.
I recommend you keep up the long form content. Although I enjoy your short form content I’m heavily invested on UA-cam (long form) your videos are doing great here ❤
Tiny man is really considering what Pa is saying, his intellect is obvious. He gonna wanna feast soon with you two. Roll the dice and live life to the max.
if you're frequency is on point, ,anything you do will be successful and attract viewers.. continue doing what you love, that always works in the end :)
Love watching you guys! Please do more research about moving to Vegas. Financially it sounds great off the bat, HOWEVER the city has its cons. Love the honesty on the channel, and I hope you keep it that way as your channel grows. Sometimes influencers get so big they aren’t as authentic anymore. They do all these food reviews say it’s good but in actually it’s mid..lol sorry just being real. Anyways, wishing you guys the best ❤
my husband and I moved to Las Vegas from Guam. 🇬🇺 We’ve been living here for more than a year and it’s been so good to us so far! I can’t see us living anywhere else so I would say yes, 10/10 recommend.
Originally from Hawai'i, I have been living in LV since 2006. The Asian community has grown so much since I've been here. The summers are a bit rough in the beginning, but that's why we have AC. 😁 Be ready for the constant flow of visitors! Personally, I cannot see myself moving back to Hawai'i simply because of the cost of living. There is not place like Vegas where you have great entertainment and great food choices all at your fingertips.
I grew up in Henderson, NV.(next to Las Vegas)..and I just moved back after living in the PNW for a few years to raise my 11yr old here. The weather gets hot for three months but the rest of the year is very nice with no extreme weather. Private schools are also good (don't do public since is a mess). The Asian community is really connected and social here as well. Housing in Henderson is more traditional and family oriented than in Vegas...and you have homes similar to those found in L.A. Is a good idea to move and try new places... especially for the kids so they get to experience new environments and lifestyles.
I’d pick WA & some of the suburbs or cities outside of Seattle! Lots of Asian groceries like Hmart, Uwajimaya, & we just got T&T (massive Chinese market chain from Vancouver, BC). Lynnwood has a large Korean population & relatively more affordable than Seattle with new construction. Renton also a city south of Seattle that is more affordable & has new construction etc! Our winters & falls are rainy rather than freezing/snow. But rain makes everything so green here! Weather in the summer is UNMATCHED! Plus having all 4 seasons is an experience of its own. & we also don’t have state income tax. 🥰 We moved from West LA during 2020 lockdowns & never looked back! Currently in Lynnwood & moving to Renton. Best of luck wherever you choose! 🙏🏼🥰
I wish you guys the best and healthiest relationship for the sake of your family and friends. Do not let content creating and money change your attitude if you guys were happy before the Internet you can be happy after. . But showing love and support from chicago IL
As a Korean guy who grew up in the South Bay, lived in Vegas for 17 yrs, and moved back to the South Bay, I can give you guys all the Pros and Cons from my experience. Weather, schools, gym (Lifetime), Korean markets, culture, neighborhoods, scorpion areas & how to catch them, community, local to dos, AZ and UT, etc.
Omg, what you cooked, that’s a fine dining… the steak ❤everything perfect 👌 red wine 🍷 they’re all the recipe for a good life ❤ What a lucky wife, hubby did all the cooking 🧑🍳 and a family that eat together, stays together ❤
Before moving to another State, I highly recommend taking a few vacations over there to see if you can acclimate to the weather and environment first! I highly recommend hiring a video editor (if you haven't already) if you decide to do more longform content so you can spend more time on creating than editing and publishing. It'll give you more time and less stress which is paramount! As far as longform content goes, it's hard to make it extremely catchy and interesting consistently while also doing short form simultaneously until you grow your audience even more. Best wishes!
Wow you have a beautiful life and your a good man just learn to enjoy life and work. There’s a lot of people out in the world that don’t even have a job nor a good life. Just be thankful for what you have and take one day at a time always putting your best foot forward. ❤️
A lot of content creators I follow that do long form also utilize the shorts by turning them into a highlight reel of the longer video. One channel I follow has started compiling several long form videos into 6-7 hour videos (seems they make more money that way). Which tracks because people fall asleep to random stuff. One seven hour video for a month could POTENTIALLY generate a few thousand dollars for that month. My opinion on Vegas- I think it could open up opportunities for content creation. Las Vegas has a lot of Culinary opportunities and its a smaller town than LA. I can see you getting famous in Vegas and creating wealth with your craft and creations.
In other words, people flock to vegas to hand over fistfuls of money for gimmicks and nostalgia all day every day. The place is sorta designed to make all different sorts of folks rich ( or broke, if you're foolish with it).
Wow this conversation with your wife reminds me exactly of the conversation I had with my wife before we moved to Sacramento from LA. Just know, wherever you move from SoCal will be a BIG adjustment. There are pros and cons to everything though. I have a beautiful house instead of a tiny apartment, lots more work opportunity, and new things to explore. But it doesn’t feel like home yet, and it is taking a big toll on my mental health. So just know that it won’t be easy. But if you go to Vegas you’re really not far away .
I lived in Bay Area (Santa Cruz) for couple years and now I'm back in the OC (for the really good school district). To be honest right now is the perfect time to move abroad... Since you mentioned it in the video.
People with no kids won't get the smell of your baby to see if it was a fart or poop and going back to eating dinner like it's nothing is such a mom thing to do. Lol. Love this family.
I love the show. My OCD goes nuts when I see the stove or oven all oily and dirty 🤣. Vegas has a bunch of Hawaii transplants. 🤙 p.s. Staying in Calif, you have to worry about the fires and the taxes are HIGH. 🤷♀ GOOD LUCK 🙂
i have an Airbnb house in south west of LV (enterprise), where most of the new builds are happening now. the area is comparable to Chino / Eastvale of LA. you can buy a 3k sq/ft for 600-700k that's nicely upgraded. let me know if you want to stay at my place! it has a chef's kitchen perfect for you to do some videos there!
Aiiiiiish was the most Korean thing ever. Enjoy your videos Hyung! Good luck with your decision. No matter what stay safe and be careful of your surroundings. You are recognizable now because of the internet.
I enjoy visiting Vegas in the winter. Summers force you to shelter with A/C. Was there in June. 109 during the day and 89 was the lowest temp at night. Peak temp last year was something's bg like 119. Avoiding taxes or not, many people have relocated to Vegas for great access to the food and party scene. What people don't seem to take into consideration is the lack of a reliable source of water. Colorado River is declining in water levels that come downstream to feed Lake Mead. Developers will keep building as long as there are buyers but they know its going to be a short timeline before H2O levels are so low at lake mead that they cannot deliver water to vegas customers and hydroelectric systems can't generate electricity. Close calls for past few summers. Best wishes for any moving decisions. Its an exciting time for your family.
Here in Seattle, I have an H-mart a block away from Pike Place Market where i both live and work. Uwajimaya (a huge Japanese focused market dwarfing H-mart) is ten minutes away in our international district. The hispanic market options are too numerous to count. I ain't movin', lol!
I think you are smart enough to figure out how to effectively put out long form content that includes food and your family and maybe a little bit of business stuff too. You just got to fuel up the rocket ship and begin your journey to the moon
I lived in LA county, I lived in Orange County, we moved to Knoxville, Tennessee for all the reasons you mentioned above… No State income tax, cheaper, housing… But the main reason is, we had no family living near us. We moved more East Coast because my family all lived in New York and Florida. Bottom line if both your parents live in California stay in California. My mother fortunately moved in with us and my children benefited from having their Nana with them growing up. How often do both of your parents see your baby? Instant babysitting whenever you need it right? If you do decide to go somewhere for your anniversary and spend a few days… Both your parents are there. I agree with what another viewer said… Go rent an Airbnb and see the United States. But stay close to family. I love your show!
Guys... do NOT move. If you leave SoCal now, you will never be able to move back. If you want to move, just move to OC man... OC is great compared to LA. But move out of state and then you will be priced out and will never be able to move back. OC is HOT? C'mon man, it's the same weather... Sorry typing while listening haha. Tons of people left during the pandemic and got quickly priced out.
Guys, I currently live in the midwest. I have a mother with dementia who turned into a child. So it's like I have a young child that I'm a caretaker for. I can't move while she's around, but I long for change. I dream of warm weather, even scorching hot weather like Vegas or Arizona, and it's negative 20 where I'm at now. Eventually your child will grow older and you really won't be able to move. Life will get in the way for you to move, both good and bad stuff. There are plenty of us stuck in our situations. Maybe you moving would be symbolic in that sense. Good luck.
…but there is gaming. Tempting even tho you said you’re done gambling. Las Vegas is the mecca of casinos. I moved from Hawaii to Las Vegas. I personally like it for the same reasons as yours. I love your videos!❤
Vegas is nice as far as cost of living VS LA but at the same time it’s not as cheap as it used to because of all the people moving there. Basically an extension of California so everything is getting more expensive. Also.. traffic gets worse everyday, there’s always road construction that seems like never ends. Go try it out and stay at Airbnb but not just for a week.. make it a month or a bit more than that to get to know the city more. I’ve lived there for about 7 years and moved back to OC. And the only thing I miss is the convenience of getting to nice restaurants and mall in just a matter of minutes.
Move to midwest. cheaper, clean etc etc. I moved to the Kansas City area from NYC and love it. You can afford to bring your parents out and have a larger house than you woudl have ever dreamed in OC
I would get a astrology reading. I’m not very much on UA-cam and they will look at your chart. It’s basically almost like a psychic. That would see what will happen type of stuff but it’s in your natal chart with the constellation and it’s honest that held everything and it will tell you if you should move or not where you will be basically
I live in South Texas. The weather sucks, think Swampy Vegas, but cost.of living is cheap. My profession pays well here. Family life is calm, quiet. Community is small. The parents all know the kids and each other's parents. One can always travel. We can adjust to the weather, but we can't get everything we want.
Love what chu do for your family ! Hope to run into you one day 💯 And BTW have you ever caught your own food and cooked it ? Like make a video on going fishing !
If she doesn't want to move there, trust me, don't move there. As a former Californian - if someone likes California they will resent every moment they are no longer there.
Yea, but this is Vegas we are talking about, not Texas or even Arizona. So many Californians have moved there that it just feels like another typical Californian city. Summerlin basically feels like Irvine but just much hotter.
@@Leo-gh7nz Fair, everyone and everywhere is different. I do think it's important to consider the first initial gut instinct here though. I'm sure they will work it out as a family no matter the choice.
Left SoCal for Vegas and hated it. Went back to SoCal. The cost being lower is one thing but imo much of Vegas is worse than LA. School districts for one. But you won’t know until you do it.
I don’t know where you live, but OC is great for families. Disneyland, Knotts, Knotts water park. Sea world isn’t too far from there. Universal Studios is not that far either. The beach is great for children. There are so many things to do in Cali with kids. From OC you can go to the mountains in the snow, it’s about 45 min away…So many options for family outings in California. If OC is too much you can look at the cities adjacent to the OC, like the IE.
I haven’t regretted moving from Cali to Washington. We have all four seasons. Our springs, summers and falls are beautiful. It does rain often during the late fall through early spring but it keeps the outdoors clean, green and lush. Just stay out of Seattle.
Las Vegas is a great option. So many people have left California to move there for a lower cost of living. You can save more money and have a better quality of life. There are a lot of Content Creators in Las Vegas also. And there are a lot of Food Content that you can make in Vegas.
I've known some streamers/influencers who have moved to Vegas because the cost-of-living and housing is cheaper etc. But then they've moved back. Definitely do a test run (rent an Airbnb) by staying there temporarily for at least a month. The weather is awful so you're barely outside (if you can't handle the heat in the OC, then Vegas is going to be impossible haha).
No doubt LV’s cost of living is cheaper. That’s about all they have imo. If you want to be close to family and friends moving is tough. It’s good to try when the baby is young. I’ve lived in NJ, HI and CA. CA has the best to offer in terms of access to retail stores, groceries and airports. Cost of living in CA isn’t too bad depending where you live. We just got lucky with owning properties while the cost wasn’t too bad. Good luck on what you decide.
Bro, I'm in a similar boat. My parents and sibling live in NYC. I live in long island (~ 30 min drive). I can move deeper inside long island and get a house double my current size for the same amount, and I'm not doing it. Just not worth the hassle. If you like Vegas, take frequent "FUN" trips there. If you move to Vegas, you'll get bored of the Vegas life too.
Las Vegas is attractive because NV has no state income tax. It can mean a lot if you’re high income. That’s a lot of money that can go toward your retirement and your children’s education.
You probably know already. You can put multiple ads if your videos are 8min+. You get around $10-30/10k views depending on the number of ads and also your niche. The good money is usually from sponsorships. I used to make YT videos too.
Weather, affordable living, retail business, less taxes…there’s many many other options better than LV. Continue your research friends. Then maybe do some vacationing around the country to scope out the potential areas to nail down the decision.
🔁🔁 be you its the content that people always look for go shopping , play with the kids , cook , eat and talk with wife & parents & friends and no gambling

From what I researched regarding Short Form VS Long Form is that:
Short form
-brings in a lot of new viewers faster than long form (but harder to keep)
-harder to live off of just short form unless you have ads coming in
-takes a bit less time to edit and record than long term
-you have to upload more frequently (several times a week)
Long form
-viewers are much more likely to continue to support you no matter what you do because you established that connection or relationship if you will
-takes longer to edit
-brings in more $$$ through ads
-its ok to upload once a week

Living close to family translates to significant savings with money and time that will be hard to replicate even if you move to a cheaper area
Exactly! If family is an important aspect of your support system, that is very difficult for some.
My parents did the same during Covid. They sold their home in Cali and they definitely don’t regret it. They absolutely love it in Vegas.
Your baby is so cute and just babbling randomly nonsense,I love it
it's eyes are basically swollen shut
We moved from West LA during 2020 lockdowns & never looked back!
❤😍now they're three 😊. Thanks for sharing this video. I pray for your success.
I absolutely love the baby...hes SO cute and good!🤩🤩🤩
As a Korean guy who grew up in the South Bay, lived in Vegas for 17 yrs, and moved back to the South Bay, I can give you guys all the Pros and Cons from my experience. Weather, schools, gym (Lifetime), Korean markets, culture, neighborhoods, scorpion areas & how to catch them, community, local to dos, AZ and UT, etc.
@POV_Husband Omg! Your baby is gorgeous! 😍 God bless your family! 🙏🏼
Omg, what you cooked, that’s a fine dining… the steak ❤everything perfect 👌 red wine 🍷 they’re all the recipe for a good life ❤
What a lucky wife, hubby did all the cooking 🧑🍳 and a family that eat together, stays together ❤
your wife rocks. such an awesome family
@@lisalarson480all good points
Wow this conversation with your wife reminds me exactly of the conversation I had with my wife before we moved to Sacramento from LA. Just know, wherever you move from SoCal will be a BIG adjustment. There are pros and cons to everything though. I have a beautiful house instead of a tiny apartment, lots more work opportunity, and new things to explore. But it doesn’t feel like home yet, and it is taking a big toll on my mental health. So just know that it won’t be easy. But if you go to Vegas you’re really not far away .
I’ve lived in both places (OC/LA), weather is much more tame if it comes to heat in OC. You’re near the oceans! But cost factor is definitely true
Love your Vlogs! Watching all the way from the Philippines and this is such a stress reliever!
I lived in vegas for 5years! You will guys will love it!
p.s. Staying in Calif, you have to worry about the fires and the taxes are HIGH. 🤷♀ GOOD LUCK 🙂
I feel same way 😂❤
i have an Airbnb house in south west of LV (enterprise), where most of the new builds are happening now. the area is comparable to Chino / Eastvale of LA. you can buy a 3k sq/ft for 600-700k that's nicely upgraded. let me know if you want to stay at my place! it has a chef's kitchen perfect for you to do some videos there!
The way the baby looks at them with each bite is gold 😂😂😂
4:41 baby was like "It smells so good but I only taste milk" :D
All I'm focusing on is the baby. Baby is wanting some food the entire time 😂
Aiiiiiish was the most Korean thing ever.
Its an exciting time for your family.
this really helped my mental health.
so nice to see this
All asians (well I) like to look where all the Hmart locations are and try to move close to there hahahahha
Same
Here in Seattle, I have an H-mart a block away from Pike Place Market where i both live and work. Uwajimaya (a huge Japanese focused market dwarfing H-mart) is ten minutes away in our international district. The hispanic market options are too numerous to count. I ain't movin', lol!
@ that's a nice combo right there
@@POV_Husbandplease come to Seattle😂😂😂
Baby Boy is NOT feeling his toy, while you guys are chowing down on a great meal! 😂
I think you are smart enough to figure out how to effectively put out long form content that includes food and your family and maybe a little bit of business stuff too. You just got to fuel up the rocket ship and begin your journey to the moon
TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!
A new way to document life’s challenges. Good speed to you guys…
make sure you are ok with the extreme heat in the summer, winds and cold temps in the winter. Vegas
The baby wants to eat. He's watching you every move.
Just my humble opinion-
Living close to family is a huge plus.
Guys... do NOT move.
Yum! Love steak❤ What's on your Valentine's Day menu? How special your wife and family are they get a good meal from Dad.
The way that baby stares at his mama 😍
That baby is desperately trying to grab some steak 😂😂❤❤
Such a cute family 😊
That would see what will happen type of stuff but it’s in your natal chart with the constellation and it’s honest that held everything and it will tell you if you should move or not where you will be basically
astrocartography yeah
I live in South Texas. The weather sucks, think Swampy Vegas, but cost.of living is cheap. My profession pays well here. Family life is calm, quiet. Community is small. The parents all know the kids and each other's parents.
One can always travel. We can adjust to the weather, but we can't get everything we want.
Where is the recipe, these kinds of vidoes are great. Looking forward to more. God bless you and your family
His son gonna be eating good for the rest of his life n gonna learn sum good stuff by his dad 🏆
Love what chu do for your family ! Hope to run into you one day 💯
And BTW have you ever caught your own food and cooked it ? Like make a video on going fishing !
That's a great content idea.
Or even, picking their veg at a farmstand. A farm will have their own farmstand.
Best decision of my life to move, came back once after 5 years and said my goodbyes. 80s and 90s was the time to be in California.
@@Leo-gh7nztrue that
@@Leo-gh7nz Fair, everyone and everywhere is different.
If OC is too much you can look at the cities adjacent to the OC, like the IE.
not sure if you already have since I'm a new subscriber but I think you'd do great with having your own merch ❤❤❤ also really enjoying your videos :)
I'm curious about that boxed salad tray alone. Where is it from?
If you do move there are good private schools/ magnet schools in vegas, the public system sucks though.
Holy crap bro went from 50k subs last i checked to 400k that tomohawk steak short went crazy
Beautiful family 💕keep going🙌🏻
Maybe consider Washington state. No state income tax and the weather isn’t extreme. The downside is the rain but the outdoors is green and lush
That's a good one

We go to Vegas 3-4 times a year and I love it there
What about Sacramento ca. nice city nice weather 👍🏼
All i can rmbr about this whole video is that baby's smile 😊
You probably know already. You can put multiple ads if your videos are 8min+. You get around $10-30/10k views depending on the number of ads and also your niche. The good money is usually from sponsorships. I used to make YT videos too.
They so easy to watch! 😌
Weather, affordable living, retail business, less taxes…there’s many many other options better than LV. Continue your research friends. Then maybe do some vacationing around the country to scope out the potential areas to nail down the decision.
What a beautifull family😊
