What a beautiful arrangement. Thank you so much for the sheet music! My mom is a piano teacher, but she's about List and the classics. I gave her the music, and didn't tell her what it was. After a few weeks of practice, she played it on an open piano at our local grocery store, and had 70 people standing around her. She's never even heard of Game of Thrones, so she was stunned when she got all that attention.
This is probably the best arrangement of GoT theme I’ve seen on UA-cam. Starts off like a small warmup and then really takes off midway with low notes. Amazing ❤
I can't believe this came out 9 years ago. I was trying to learn the piano by looking at UA-cam videos. My dad had a cheap electronic piano. I have heard many artists who do cover pieces. But I always end up liking Mark's version. He has this elegant simplicity, not too complex, not too simple, but still feels like I hear more than the notes that he plays.
Hey mark, im playing piano for 6 month by myself and im learning this music, i can play very well first 36 sec but after, i cant, i think i dont have the correct finger to do that, im looking for a tutorial but i found nothing... i dont know how to read music sheet, i learn only from synthesia. PS: Sorry for my english.
Itachi Uchiha hey, i am pianist and i know what am i talking about so read carefull: you started playing piano by yourself what can be made but not forever because the most important thing in piano is the base you take for keep doing it better and better because if you dont take that it will be impossible for you, you have to lear how to read all kind of music but most important are in spanish FA and SOL i mean, the forth from the central key and the fifth ok? when you learn to read in those two ways (dont know how to say it) you will can read all this and more! but you have to keep practising whats i said all right? its probably the most important in music and if you cant do it well you will cant play this because you havent got the base i said before. so learn that and another thing is you have to try to find the best way to put your fingers because if you do it on your way you dont take tecnic, good luck and keep on!!
Simple. Some are just jealous, but the majority will be those fooling around and dislikes videos even though in reality they liked it. It's mainly to anger or tempt serious people like you.
You've got the best arrangement of GOT I've heard so far. Crafted to perfection, not a single wasted note, captures the mood beautifully. Take your place on the Iron Throne my friend
The smoothness , the soft and delicate touch of the keys , i have never heard a piano make sounds like that. You my friend are one of the best pianist i have ever personally seen in my life. Keep it up man , keep it up. -Fellow pianist
It's actually very easy for any half decent player, and a good way to get your technique better so you can play this effortlessly is to learn Chopin etude op10/12 revolutionary, a much more advanced piece than this arrangement, but thats one of the easiest Chopin etudes haha.
+Mark Fowler . Can someone with relatively short hands play like this. I mean I can manage till an eighth but can barely reach the ninth. So will that be a major problem ??
Я в полном восхищении от столь прекрасной мелодии, невероятно, настолько она воодушевляет и возносит, ничего подобного давно не слышала, в фортепианной версии она звучит особо и величественно!!!
I knew it wasn't just me... combining Prelude to it made a rather awesome effect.... though I began to think "hmm.. this sounds a bit too innocent for the GoT theme"... and then he went into the rest of it and I was like "THATS more like it".
Have you ever been to a piano class? I'm considering going to one, but I have the feeling I could teach it myself. but not sure if I can teach myself as good as you are
oh my God, this video became literally my obsession. i'm thinking about learning either piano or guitar and i really can't make my mind. is playing the piano really hard ? hope you answer
oumayma bouattour It depends on how naturally skilled you are on the piano, but yes it is not easy and requires a lot of hard work if you want to get to an advanced level of playing. Its like anything, you get out what you put in.
oumayma bouattour You don't need to take lessions for both instruments if that's what you mean by expensive. I learned to play tbe guitar moderately good just by internet turtorials with a basic guitar.
oumayma bouattour I suggest you try both, and see which one feels natural to you. You can then put most of your efforts into playing that instrument, and possibly casually learn the other. My instrument is clarinet, and I am currently having lessons; But I enjoy playing piano by ear and teach my self the guitar in my spare time, but my Clarinet always comes first. Just see what works best for you.
mateusz4r its actually not very complicated this piece, music at this kind of technical level is pretty much instant on the spot, so it would take maybe 30 mins to an hour to learn it all from ear. I did this with the Westworld main theme the other night. If you was to learn something more technically challenging like a difficult lizst or Chopin piece then you're talking a lot longer to learn, weeks, months or even years! as opposed to minutes... So there's a massive difference. This may look difficult to play to many people, but at the same time it will look very easy to most trained/good musicians. Difficultly is subjective and depends on your level of playing and understanding of music.
Thanks for answering! Well, apparently indeed the complexity rating depends on own skills. For me, the beginner pianist at the age of 30, this play looks impressive and i wish i could play it with such ease one day. For now i managed to master right hand only for this one watch?v=EOmsmFZe900, and it took me about 3 hours. Pathetic, but satisfying :) Cheers!
Sigh, it makes some folks like myself ashamed to claim that we're pianists and can only play basic arrangements like Amelie's Autre Comptine d'un Autre Ete after 20+ years of playing. I guess you gotta be dedicated to be any good. I'm just not passionate enough to practice on a daily basis. Thanks for sharing your beautiful playing and obvious hard work :)
***** I had a keyboard from the age of 7. I never had a piano instructor, I can't read sheet music. I play by ear. It took some time so don't think for a minute that you will just pick it up. I kept practising, and practising and if I hit the wrong note, I started again. It took me about 2 months to learn Scales and Arpeggios Disney song from the aristocats, playing both left and right hand. I think I done rather well considering I was 7 at the time. Nowadays I don't have much time for the piano, but I love it's sound. I passed on a very important talent to my children. My son plays the drums, he picked up a set of drumsticks and started playing and he is really good. My daughter picked up guitar just by ear. It can be done. :) xx
I first listened to this when season 2 premiered, since then I occasionally listen to it, now it's 2020 and still my favorite seriously you're the best

It's not out of nowhere. I guess he needed a boost with the string and harpsichord to change the scene, but I hate the string sound from the settings and the piano alone can do the job.

Hahah i thought the same :D
Martin X Dude, yes. When I first heard this I totally heard the final fantasy theme.
sweet, slow paced but extremely beautiful, I love how the notes just seems to flow like a small calmed river. Congrats my friend, excellent rendition.
Slow paced?....ya right lol
Beautiful. I especially like the Final Fantasy-ish arping with your right hand at the beginning.
I love this! You didn't do too much like the other artists. You went straight to the notes we wanted to hear.
Indeed, sometimes less is more. There are way too many over the top piano covers. While spectacular, there's no feels.
Simply the best piano version on youtube.
I have listened to this cover almost 50 times now.. And still i want more of it.. Amazing.. Truly.. You are talented dude😊😃
Listening to this before the final episode of game of thrones.. this makes me cry
This is beautiful. I love the rise and fall in the beginning.
It is a pleasure not only seeing u play but but in this video also it is a super nice seeing how u enjoy playing this song.
I always listen to these magical pieces and think how do they do that thing with the left hand. I mean really how?
It's actually very easy for any half decent player, and a good way to get your technique better so you can play this effortlessly is to learn Chopin etude op10/12 revolutionary, a much more advanced piece than this arrangement, but thats one of the easiest Chopin etudes haha.

The most popular not necessarily the best.
