The part where Count starts counting the bones on the skeleton and the skeletons starts to laugh scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. Me and my brother used call a skeleton a "hee-hee man" because of this skit. LOL!
I don't remember ever seeing this when I watched Sesame Street as a kid, but it's SO COOL! I can't believe the skelleton laughs at the end--that's PRICELESS! But heck...it's a nice way to teach about bones.
This is my favourite song of all time. Despite the fact that I wasn't even born when it was originally broadcast! I had it on video (still do, though I can't watch it as we don't have a video player) and watched it obsessively until I was about seven. :)
OH MY *screams* this is it! this is the one! this is my favorite count song that i only saw like twice when i was a kid! First i was not afraid of skeletons and then i was afraid and now i'm not anymore, but it is a wonderful song and creepy setting! I wanted this so bad, THANK YOU words cannot express my gratitude!
My son loves this MV . I wanna teach him how to sing it . However, I can't hear the song well due to his strange tone of voice. Once again, thank you very much!
Him singing about what we would be like without bones reminds me of the Family Guy episode when Peter has no bones for a while and everyone in the family is soon to be dead inside, as Lois put it.
Here's to the Ever so Crazy, but lovable Count Von Count and his Insanely Badass Klezmer songs, h e was actually one of my favorites when I was a kid. I happen to be a bit eccentric :D HA HA HA *thunder*

wow, the german version of this song is way different. i didn't know that they also changed the whole music track not only the singer's voice. pretty interesting to say the least.
The count is not jewish, but slavic. Whot it happens is that there where a lot of jews there in eastern europe so jewish music was influenced by slavic folk or vice-versa the same as flamenco was influenced by arabic music
Hilarious when the Count gets carried away with his songs! I love how funny he is!

The laughing skeleton used to scare me so much I'd run and hide behind the sofa until it was finished.
I love the Count and all his songs, dark or not.

Rylosalex Me 2
Me encanta. Nos la pusieron en el cole cuando estudiabamos lo huesos.
I love it.We hear it at school when we studied the bones.
The part with the laughing skeleton scared the crap out of me as a toddler when this song / skit showed up on an episode on tv one day.
Another fun clip.
Thanx so much, LJF, for sharing!

-raises a wine glass- cheers! To the count! Ah ah ah ah ah! -more thunder-
My childhood right here.
Bones, bones, bones, bones bones inside of you.
we needed this for nursing class, thanx count....ur the best
what a minute did he just imply muppets have bones
Yeah petty much
Octopuses and squids would hate this song because they don't have bones. The cartilage they've got is all they need to move.
My son loves this MV . I wanna teach him how to sing it . However, I can't hear the song well due to his strange tone of voice. Once again, thank you very much!

That was just disturbing on a lot of levels.
Kind of you. Thanks a million !
Sesame Street used to be creepy and cool. Nowadays it's just namby-pamby.
Agreed. Until the 2000s, Sesame Street was zany and funny. Now it is so lame and boring. On top of that, the little red menace (Elmo) stole the show.
Thumbs Up if the laughing skeleton at the end freaked you out
I see why I was scared of this dude when I was a kid, this guy freaken creepy! Though I love now :3
RIP Jerry Nelson
Here's to the Ever so Crazy, but lovable Count Von Count and his Insanely Badass Klezmer songs, h e was actually one of my favorites when I was a kid. I happen to be a bit eccentric :D HA HA HA *thunder*
The Count will be surprised when he finds that not just bones make a skeleton but so does cartalige if you're a ray or shark.
OMG I remember this. LOL.
our teacher showed us this video in grade 6 health class.
Happy Haunting!!!!
Happy Halloween!!!!
The Skeleton laughing at the end scared the piss out of me as a little kid!
Me too. The beginning also scared me.
Kellie Gradine
which scared you more? the beginning to this? or the beginning to mysterious theater (with the woman in black standing at the grave)?
+William Raih I dont remember the Mysterious Theater.
THAT SKELETON IS TOO CREEPY
same i had nightmares
This makes me think of the kind of songs that is in the Corpse Bride and Nightmare Before Christmas movies.
i never saw this, but i had the song on a cassette tape when i was 3, i eventually broke it because i overplayed it
Long Live Jerry Nelson!!!!
LOLOLOL hee-hee man!
The laughing skeleton scared the shit out of me as a child.
I've heard that this is more of a Halloween song...and rightfully so.
LOL
+LittleJerryFan92 I remember this from the VHS I had of Elmo Says Boo. I think you probably got this clip from Elmo Says Boo, didn't you?
huhhuhuhuh.. bones.. huhuhuhuh.. inside of you.. huhuhuhuh
@TheFrankenStand and i find this Humerus haha xD (the bone in your upper arm)
this one used to scare me, all the early sketches did, now I am not scared at all.
SesameStreet Has That Version,
And It's Uploaded Now!
My song loves the MV. I wanna teach him how to sing it. However, I can't hear the song well due to his strange tone of voice. Once again, thanks a lot.

THE END.
Very funny but Mr Hooper died in the early 1980's where as this is set in the 1970's.
Maybe this is probably the preserved skeleton of Adolf Hitler.
...O.O This song is creepy.
It sounds like it should be a Villain Song or have its own circle of Hell or something.
Here's a little song about your mama
The count is not jewish, but slavic. Whot it happens is that there where a lot of jews there in eastern europe so jewish music was influenced by slavic folk or vice-versa the same as flamenco was influenced by arabic music
That skeleton is the remains of Mr. Hooper.
This song was originally made in 1978 (which was about four or five years BEFORE Mr. Hooper died). Maybe it could be the remains of Adolf Hitler.
HE'S DEAD.
The chorus of this song sounds a little like "The Song of the Count," Don't ya think?
I think the count is jewish.
