Thanks little lay got wife the same rig. Now me and my daughter can do this tog. Well mostly here kinda she the best at helping and learning. Just turned 15
I know the 2016 chevrolet trax specifically says that it isn't rated for towing and shouldn't be used for towing but this seems to be only for vehicles in America. I know other countries who also sell these same vehicles do not specifically say they should not be used for towing. I also am aware of the difference in Class I and Class II tow hitch capability differences. But where could owners of the 16 Trax find out how much tongue weight and total towing weight the vehicle can pull if an aftermarket tow hitch is being purchased and installed?
Mindy, the US has significantly stricter regulations when it comes to towing than other countries. If the manufacturer states the vehicle should not be used for towing, we recommend following their guidelines. However, the hitch can still be used for bike racks and cargo carriers.
