How do you keep producing music that I love? After Cripple Crow I thought that you'd hit your peak with your music and that maybe I'd like a few more songs, then you hit Smokey, What Will, and Mala which were excellent albums. Each one that came out, I decided was my new favorite album. I have now decided to give up on picking a favorite and just enjoy this journey you've taken us on. Thank you.

He’s basically taken us on a tour of the progression/evolution of music through the years. He has very eclectic ideas but still leaves his fingerprint on each song. So even if he’s doing a reggae/gospel/electronic/rock song it’s still a Banhart song. He has a style that comes out no matter what genre he’s playing.
This is the first album that didn’t grow on me

I really enjoy that Barnhart doesn't repeat himself musically. I would be so happy if there were a dozen remakes of Cripple Crow or What Will Be but I am even happier when whatever his current album is, stretches me out and invites me to exceed expectation. Thanks for ALL the music. Cripple Crow helped me get through a nasty divorce and What Will Be got me to my (still on-going) current relationship. I'm an everyday fan for almost 20 years now.

What will We Be and Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon are both incredible. Niño Rojo is really when he started coming into his own. But even his first album is fucking amazing for what it is. He was starting a movement
