Thanks so muchfor the lyrics Lily. Orla is amazing. I hope you don't mind me saying that where you put twice 'world' it should be 'word'(meaning Jesus is the Word and Creator as was meant in *Eleanor Farjeon's* 1931 original lyrics and even Cat Stevens 1970s lyrics. Please google *Wikipedia: **_Talk_** Morning has broken, word or world.* ) The internet is in fact wrong about the lyric being 'world'. I had to sing this in a Christmas choir at the time of my dearest and only sister's terrible death(she was 7.) I will see her again- life is so short. *"There is...neither man or woman; all are one in Christ Jesus. -Galatians 3 Verse 28,New Testament.* The great honor of seeing Christ in his Godly, resurrection body, was given first to Mary Magdalene. *Priscilla wrote an entire book of the New Testament(Bible).* The cell phone/computer/flat screen TV, that we own contain rare-earth metals and other materials, that were mined in a way that caused great harm to the earth and even people. So we have all sinned, in one way or another. *The Good News (Gospel)* is that anyone who believes in, and trusts in Jesus, will have all their sins forgiven(past and future too) and will be given everlasting life of absolute joy. _It's an absolutely free gift of infinite value._ *Jesus is God is Love* - 1John 4:7-17,New Testament.-Peace and love and true respect to all women; they are our dear mothers, sisters, daughters, friends, lovers, colleagues and Prime Ministers and presidents! *: )* [The scientists James Clerk Maxwell(widely known as among *top 3 scientists in history* ) ,Michael Faraday, Werner Heisenberg, and Sir Isaac Newton were very devout Christians. So were 90% of the scientists who invented the fields of physics, chemistry, aeronautics(the Wright Brothers invented the airplane, and they were devout Christians too) ,electrical engineering, and many more. The Apollo 11- Apollo 17 astronauts took hundreds of Bibles to the moon. There is still a *red Bible on the moon* to this day .]
@@charleysangel2866 Yes. You are correct. The original lyric is "fresh from the word". It is very hard to hear it in the Cat Stevens version (though I checked it on the record sleeve and it's "word" there) as he hits a piano note just as he sings that word - so may people have assumed it is "fresh from the world". Eleanor Farjeon was probably making an allusion to John 1:1, and at any rate to the creation of the world by the word of God in Genesis 1.
Orla Fallon is precious!! Orla is one of the dearest ladies that I have ever met. She is kind, sweet and loving. I love this song and listening to Orla as she sings it. I have all of her albums and "My Land" is one of her loveliest....
Cat Stevens fine version made this song familiar - however, he didn't compose it; the melody is an old Gaelic one (Bunessan) and the lyrics were written by Eleanor Farjeon in the 1930's.
@Corinthian44 That song is in our hymnal and is sung often in houses of worship. Cat took some liberties with the words by singing from the world instead of the WORD. Biblically speaking, the WORD is JESUS.
Que gran aporte, adoro la voz de Orla, muchisimas gracias por subir sus videos. ¿Sería posible que subieras los del concierto de navidad? no los encuentro por ningún lado y la verdad es que me encantan, ojalá sea posible. Gracias!!!!
Sorry, but this is a terrible arrangement. Orla has a fine, strong alto, and this should be sung in a lyrical, flowing manner. Sung staccato like this, it is just wrong.

Magic melody, straight from the depths of the mystery we call God......Thanks, Cat!....

I was singing this at school , years before Cat Stevens was born . Vinterfrid has given the correct details , so I won't elucidate !
