Imagine walking into a guitar store about 1981. You see some blonde long-haired quiet kid. He’s just playing away with some clean guitar that looks like it’s from the future. You think nothing of it, and go about your business. Then, about 10 or 11 years later, you see him again, this time on TV with three other guys that he’s in a band with. They just came back from playing a concert in Moscow that over 1.6 million people went to. They’ve also got an album coming out that will stand as one of the best-selling metal albums of all time. Talk about a memory you’ll never forget.

@Forresr Perkins Heavy Metal is a genre with countless different sounds and styles. You can still have a pretty diverse catalogue even if you only wrote Metal riffs. Besides, Hetfield’s written plenty of clean, acoustic, hard rock, and even blues style chord progressions. He’s even written leads before. Point is, you could definitely argue he’s diverse.

Hopefully he'll use it in The Unforgiven 4, although such a song would have to be on their final studio album so they could play with the idea of the band being unforgiven for disbanding.
The riff at 2:35 would be a great verse riff for the song!

I don't understand and will Never understand why videos of musicians have 20 different camera angles (almost all the camera angles are fucking terrible) and they change every 3 seconds. It's been like this since Elvis. These "fancy" camera people are the plague that just won't go away. This video (and most band videos) should be a single camera on a tripod facing the musician.

What I learn from this video is that you don't need to blend a Mark IIC+ and a Diezel Vh4 to sound like James Hetfield. He's playing a Dual Rectifier on a 4x12 Mesa and it's sound so damn right. To sound like JH you need the fingers of JH...

I can’t get over how much James Hetfield looks like the bad guy from the first Grease movie with John Travolta.
It’s like any second I just expect him to say, “the rules are there are no rules”
