Please, Please, make a video of setting up a node and adding a node to a group. I have 3 TBeam boards all already to go. I just can't get them to talk to each other. Thank and best wishes.
Thanks for the video, my T-beam has been out of use for a while and I forgot which button does what! Couple of 868mhz (and one 433mhz) Heltec units on order; hope to relegate the T-beam to use as a repeater unit! Richard G8ITB.
just soldered two tbeam boards for the first time and installed an 18650 and plugged it in. I have a blue light but the screen isn't coming on. I used ham radio crash course to reference which holes for the pins. any suggestions? battery is properly oriented and the antennas are on
You said every time pressing the middle button the radio is performing the equivalent of a heart beats to the rest of the net work is that correct if so changing screens is sending multiple heartbeat beats is that correct. I have to admit I’ve been power cycling the radios if I need to force a connection it would be good to confirm if it’s on every middle button press. Or is it a press and hold? VK1MIC
Hi, at 3:21 you have connected the T-Beam to an external antenna: what impedance do you recommend for the coaxial cable? 50 or 75 ohms? Also, what adapter do you use?
For co-axial feeders the convention is that transmitting antennas are always 50Ω and receivers always 75Ω. Where you have a Transmitter/Receiver we use 50Ω. The physics is complex, but there is good reason for this.
Hi sir. I’m a student from Taiwan who really likes ur videos. I have a question. I’m wondering whether u know how to use it without a oled display. Please, reply to me as soon as u can.Thank you!
Oh ok. So the OLED display is a must-have item. I thought that maybe we could get the Bluetooth key or other information by using port monitor, but it seems that maybe the most efficient way is to get one OLED display. Thx for ur reply.
@@shihjiunlin4242 its not as practical, but you could use a computer or even an android with otg adapter to get the bluetooth pin from the serial console. The moment you try to connect to the device it prints the pin on the console
I bought the TTGO T-Beam V1.1 for EU865, installed the software (firmware-tbeam-EU865-0.7.10.bin) and tried to connect the device with the Android Meshtastic App via Bluetooth, but after typing 0000 or 1234 the devices don't pair and connection always fails. What is the reason for this? Or do I have to do something different? Thanks for your help!
Make sure you choose the correct firmware build: For the T-Beam 868MHz (EU) unit use: firmware-tbeam-EU865-0.9.1 (as of 26/7/2020) The app software I am using is 0.8.03 which fixes the Bluetooth re-pairing issue on older phones.
Hello sir, I’m student from Indonesia, I want to ask how to set the screen settings so that incoming and sent text messages can be seen, and also how to display them for each connected node? I really hope you can help and reply to my message. Thank you
Are you sure it's the same version? Be careful to select the correct version of firmware for your hardware, not the old V1's are no longer supported. Mine is later than this.
Hello I have just received one of these boards (First one ever so total noob) I have connected it to arduino but nothing can be loaded on to it Comes up with fatal error When I google search it says boot loader was not engaged How do I do this Best wishes ☺️

@@michelephilipp9277 OK, which file did you choose to upload? You have to be extremely careful to choose the correct file for your particular board, region and frequency band. This is the mistake most people make.
I have Meshtastic 1.3.26 and only the left button works to restart. I don't know what software you are using but your suggestions do not work on my two units. Its shocking and offensive as to the lack of support for beginners with this device.
It’s quite an old video now. I am planning a new video that is up to date with the latest version. I’m installing two new nodes in SE London and will include this information too.
I just had a revelation in this regard: 4 of my TTGO T3_V1.6 ESPs require /dev/ttyUSB0 as a com port. 4 others did not work, and a TTGO Meshtastic GPS LoRa ESP refused to communicate with the computer. Then I tried connecting via /dev/ttyAMAO. it appears that Lilygo switched from CP2102 serial chips to CH340s at some point. open up your IDE without the ESP plugged in, see what ports are available, then plug in the ESP. either /dev/ttyUSB0 or /dev/ttyAMAO will show up. use that port. anybody knows where the I2C port pins really are, speak up, please
This video has helped a lot of people! Thanks for the great video. :)
Thanks for the video. Very helpful. Looking forward to the next one.
Waiting for the next video about the software. Great content of a great project!
Many thanks, the instruction video is WiP!

Getting slicker by the minute
Double clicking the middle button will reset the bluetooth password to 12345678 which is great if your scren stops working.

What do you think of the stock antenna that comes with the Tbeam?
Question, does the 18650 battery charge while the Beam is plugged via usb?
Yes it does, it acts as a float
@@G8YTZ Thanks !
Can I use this to get a moving node to trigger it to switch on a relay at 20meter distance signal
Thumbs up
