    I agree with you about the fees but eBay is such a bigger marketplace so if your cool with waiting on buyers on COMC that’s cool. I have about 2000 cards on COMC and 900 on eBay and I do 5-7x the amount of business on eBay. I love COMC and it has a great use case but in terms of volume eBay is still king.

    Been taking my listings off eBay and sending to COMC. The fees are ridiculous on eBay. Cards can sit on eBay forever with little views, my opinion is exposure is the same. The only problem is if you do shows as a vendor then you will have less inventory, still not a big deal. If you pick and choose correctly.
    Good vid!

      I saw that just as I finished editing the video! That does stink, I’ve used that promotion a few times and it’s been great!

    eBay though has an exposure add in. Cards sell for 5-10% more.

    COMC also lists every card on eBay, so you automatically get that dual exposure opportunity to sell the cards. I don't worry about the cash out fee, I just use my profits to fund PC Cards (although that means I get smacked with the shipping costs).

      This isn’t true. You up pay for an eBay listing.

      @@krishdasgupta7313 Yes it is. I, as the seller, do not have to tell COMC to cross list my cards to eBay. They do it automatically, and there is certainly no extra fee.
      For the buyer however, they do see an eBay upcharge on the eBay listing that consists of: 1) my asked for price plus 2) an additional percentage COMC charges to cover their selling fees. When the card sells, I get what I set my price at minus the normal 5%, and COMC keeps the segment of the sell price set aside for their fees.
      The trick for buyers on eBay, who are also COMC members is, when you see an eBay card listed by COMC, actually go into your COMC account and buy it there. You'll find it listed without that extra markup. Then you just have to wait to ship it home.

    How does Comc handle sales tax? It will be interesting to see how fast the cards will sell.

    Quick question on your expense breakdown. Why are you being charged Sales Tax? That should be a pass through account and Ebay administers the Tax collection and any back office operations for the buyers of product. The buyer should be the one paying that tax and not the seller.

    • @EagleMan_TradingCards
      @EagleMan_TradingCards  22 дні тому

      Yes, I see on the order breakdown that the buyer does supplement that cost; however, it’s also deducted from the final payout that I receive. I included this deduction in my calculation, but I suppose someone else could interpret it differently and not include it! Good observation :)

      @@EagleMan_TradingCards I wouldn't include that in your calculation because the net effect of the transaction will be zero. Ebay will charge the buyer for the sales tax and you may see that amount, but then Ebay will collect those funds from you and send to whatever taxing authority. At no time will you be out that money. The net effect is zero percent for you. At this time, you are overstating your overall expenses with Ebay. In actuality, the percentage spread between COMC and Ebay will be several hundred basis points with COMC being the better option. Still a great analysis on your part. Thanks for the info.

      @@timothydinsmore4069 agreed here, the sales tax should NOT be included with your calc as this is not your burden. it is technically grossed up for the buyer to pay and then deducted so you are receiving the actual amount of your sale and THEN ebay fees kick in from there......time value of money is also a factor here as you mentioned with the time it takes to list/ship which is almost a zero value for COMC.....i have started exclusively selling on COMC, i just dont have the time to list and ship all cards im trying to sell/flip. i grade a lot too so i love the option at PSA now for them to list directly on ebay right after grading so i have been doing that a lot now as well. any avenue i can use to save me time from the actual listing/shipping myself i am all for.

    I've been opening my boxes the wrong way too. I just scan them now. It's a lot easier and no mess to clean up.
