Cool look at the pulps mate, Conan is still big today and I do think The Shadow has real style and created a lot of the tropes of comics back when they 1st appeared.
There is nothing quite like a John Buscema "Conan" page, is there? And, yes, the blatant lifting of elements from other characters back in the day is startling, especially "superman" and the "fortress of solitude!" For a modern take on the Doc Savage template that actually works and entertains, check out the "Lazarus Gray" books by modern pulp author Barry Reese!
