INGREDIENTS :
1.2 kg mussels
salt for boil
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp. gochujang chilli paste
2-3 tbsp white wine
salt to taste
black pepper
half lemon juice
red chilli optional
chopped parsley
chopped spring onion
30 grams butter
2 tbsp olive oil.

just a tip. you dont have to fully submerge boil the mussles. just a lil bit of water for steaming they will evenly cook open and this also prevents flavour to come out of the meat. either ways nice recipe will try it never tried garlic butter with gochu jang paste before ☺️

1. Steam the mussels in a proper steamer. Water shouldn't touch the mussels.
2. Mussels have salty brine inside them so there is absolutely no need for adding salt.
3. Stop cooking as soon as the mussels open. Remove one shell if you are going to use it for presentation.
4. Remove the bul bul by cutting it off at the base, do not pull on it as it removes things you can eat and also can break up the mussels.
5. Wash off an remaining dirt from the shells drain all the water and store it until service.
Mussels should be plumb and perfectly cooked. And if done properly it's so tasty without any sauce.
What do mussels taste like I found some yesterday at my local park and I left them cause I didn’t want them to die but I want to try them but am afraid I won’t like them
I like mussels wn they are slighty done, certainly not overcooked. So as soon as they start to open, I take them off the heat. I’d ratherhave a half raw mussel than a leathery one! There are people who eat mussels raw, just like oysters. I’m not that far. Yet. 😈

I don't add water at all. I boil them in a pot, close the lit. Water comess out from the shell.

What is the use of adding white wine in this?
Why would you cover them in water and then throw away all the juice. Cook them with no water and reduce the juice. It’s the best part of the Mussel
