Thank you for this video. Very helpful. One feedback I have is to use light mode instead of dark mode for showing things on the screen, it's easier to see because youtube is in light mode.
Noted!
Your video guides are great, and have help me a lot to better understanding M365, Azure and other tools!!!
Thanks so much👍
@@AndyMaloneMVP Is there a way to access this M365 sandbox, so testing and learning can be done?
Nice tour, thanks for sharing
Weldone Andy. Great video
This was pure gold.. thank you..
You're very welcome
His videos rock. Very helpful
Hello Andy!! I had just found your videos about a week ago and where have they been hiding?! Working at a district and just moving over to Azure from Novell I was lost but wow what a content extravaganza for my eyes concerning Microsoft. One thing that I have heard from a Microsoft rep at one of our Edu conventions is that on prem AD will go away and Azure will be the only player and this was a year ago and they were quite clear that yes AD was going to Azure AD (and by the looks of this video they are doing it). Can you yea or nay that info? Other than that I have your videos on my saved list and sharing them with all my co-workers since we are all in the same boat. Great Work!!
Hi James, great to have you on board and welcome to my channel. I would probably agree with your friend in the active directory is now considered legacy. Azure AD is the cloud version and definitely something to learn the best documentation can be found at learn.microsoft.com and I also have lots of videos in the identity playlist which you might want to take a look at. Anyway thanks very much and enjoy my channel. Andy
Goodness Andy! As a Business Premium user and small biz owner I've been avoiding Entra, thinking "ok now what is this new thing I have to learn!" But wow did you point out that Microsoft sure seems to be trying to help small biz guys like me. And thank you. As a former educator myself, you're a fantastic teacher. Well done! I read the MS documentation. I subscribe to various UA-cam Channels to hear different perspectives but yours is the gold standard. Thank you.
Aw thanks so much Mike I really appreciate that and I’m delighted to have you onboard🙂👍
I agree, 25+ yrs in IT, 15 at Microsoft, and a dash of comedy really drives things home. :) I dig it. Thanks Andy!
Great video, thank you sir!
Great video per usual.
Thanks Patrick 😊👍
Hello ..Andy... do you have online courses like in udemy or coursera ect
I I don’t I’m sorry. I’ve never done any work with them.
is this video for beginners who know nothing about Azure AD?
No but there are other videos in my playlist just for you 🙂
Hello Andy, as always thanks for the great video - really appreciate your content! I have another question regarding MFA. I read in an article a while ago that MFA will be made mandatory by microsoft for every user and can only be disabled using conditional access policys - do you know when or rather if this change will actually take place?
Hi David, I believe it’s very shortly, possibly as early as March this year. All users in Microsoft 365 will be required to use NFA as a second authentication mechanism.
@@AndyMaloneMVP interesting. Do you think we can still bypass for certain 'service' users where MFA breaks functionality?
@@AndyMaloneMVP Wow! Existing tenants with no MFA too? I don't think they can get away with that...
@@vegasjosejavier as of the end of February all tenants, will it be MFA enabled
@@AndyMaloneMVP the end of February looks grim for me I fear
Do you know when Microsoft is going to allow admins to determine minimum password requirements? Rather than be stuck with Microsofs defaults? Feel like this should be a bigger issue than it is. Love the vids btw
As I’ve said 1000 times passwords are so 90s and will soon be a thing of the past. If you’re using MFA it doesn’t really matter what the password is. Try and encourage your users to use multifactor authentication or even password. Plus authentication using biometrics. You’ll be 1000 times more secure. Delighted to hear that. You’re enjoying the channel though, all the best, Andy.
@@AndyMaloneMVP yeah thankfully ive implemented mfa at my current org over the last month or two :)
@@AndyMaloneMVP this is true for us, IT admins, but try to explain this to an auditor :) in my opinion Microsoft should enable this exactly for such cases, while still promote heavily passwordless authentication.
@@stoyan.angelow Not no mention standards like PCI DSS that have specific password requirements
So... They changed the UI of Azure AD and moved a few other into one admin center (that they should have done in the first place)? Not all that impressive honestly. I'd be more impressed with overhauling and consolidating the MFA sections, or enhancing hybrid.
Still gave a like as there are so few educated Microsoft content creators out there.
Thanks I appreciate that👍
Thanks for this. Brilliant for Admin roles. Is there a way we could leverage PIM to delegate access on behald of another user as a role? E.g. EA on behalf of CEO? (or anything else within Microsoft universe)
Microsoft have been playing around with something called privileged access management and it’s kind of like this, however at the moment it’s just not quite right. In my opinion 😊
They made it default today!
hey, how is this different to azure ad? i mean, apart from the GUI
A Rebrand with a new updated look :-)
Great video! Thanks for sharing
Great video man, thanks a bunch!
Well done - on point, lucid, and useful!
Great walkthrough video.
Hi Andy! Great video. One thing I wanted to do is to reach out to you and ask you kindly to consider changing the video intro to something else and drop the strobing lights effects as it may cause seizures if you suffer from epilepsy, or please put in a disclaimer on strong lights effect notice. Thank you
Thanks for your comment. Actually I also suffer from this as well. I’ll see what can be done. Although I can’t do anything regarding already published content. I’m sure you understand.
Ive noticed that my Users cannot use teams since upgrade. Only users who have just reset their password. MIcrosoft is looking into it. The only discernable change I've seen
Put in a support call with Microsoft 🙂
Great video and demonstration! Just wondered, does deploying AAD Sync have any downtime or effect on users? i.e. syncing the on prem AD objects to AAD
No, none.
Excellent informative explanation as always thank you
Thanks I appreciate that 😊👍
Can you help me out a little bit? Is M365 and Azure the same? I thought Microsoft 365 is office applications! But after watching your video, I think M365 is a windows server.
I already did for more details. I recommend that you go to learn.microsoft.com. This is a definitive learning resource that can really help, thanks again
@@AndyMaloneMVP Thank you very much for your reply! I will definitely read more from Microsoft website(the link you sent). Thank you!
Hi Andy
Kindly share some use cases of sentinel
Sorry I’m not a salesman. Like I said I’m the video it collates security logs and analyses them with A.I to look for anomalies. Microsoft has load of use cases in its documentation 🙂
do you have a paid course on azure administrator?
Personally, at the moment, no. Professionally I deliver training including Microsoft 365 through a company called Glasspaper in Oslo. Glasspaper.no for more details.
Can you address number matching?
No idea what you mean, I’m afraid
Once again Andy, another great video 👍
You’re welcome many thanks😊
Great learning video
Thanks 😊👍
Great video Andy! 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Best content on YT
Aw thanks I appreciate that👍
Great video, very helpful, I like when went over users account.
Also thank you for sharing it.
You’re very welcome, and thanks again
My pleasure, and thank you 😊
Using these kinds of Microsoft products means the worst kind of vendor lock-in. Only use them if you are already completely vendor-locked-in and at the mercy of Microsoft!
I can’t say to that but I can tell you that MS is the only multi cloud solution out there.
@@AndyMaloneMVP Solution for what? For Azure AD? You don't mean to say there is no other OAuth2 / Open ID Connect / Identity provider solution out there that can be used in all kinds of clouds, managed, unmanaged and selfhosted, right?
