I could never watch it because nobody can't convince me that the Chasers don't know the questions before the games starts. Sometimes they lose purposely of course, but there is no way they don't know the questions

This is why the Chase is the best quiz show. These nail biting moments are what make this show, so enjoyable.
Mark really threw that away! The Brady Bunch, Pan and Lake Baikal were quite bad misses!
Goes to show that even the Chasers feel the pressure of the Final Chase.
Baikal was a tough one but brady bunch and pan cost him what should’ve been three easy points (two answers + the team pushed him back on the brandy bunch question). He gets any of those and it’s over before the Lake Baikal question anyway
Could have been "off" that day or he's just peaked in his age/time doing the show

@@9k49 Idk Baikal is the deepest lake in the world, and definitely the only obvious Siberian lake. Comes up quite a lot (although I do mostly geography quizzes so gonna be biased)
That was the most incredible moment ever, literally about to catch them with a second to spare, but one wrong answer and it was over for the beast, because he then couldn't answer quickly enough. Even my hear was pounding when I saw this on TV, with even me thinking the team had had it until this, even shocking my ears ready to hear the caught sound.

I noticed that too. I think the question was meant to say "Youngest", and the producer would've probably shouted "Accept it" when hearing Bradley's mistake.
He does say youngest, you can hear the 'st' sound if you listen closely. I think it's the fact we're hearing it with the music added. The studio has 3 monitors above the set that show the questions being asked which are rarely, if ever, seen on screen.
Great show and Bradley has the best personality as the host to make it so addictive
Also, it's Ladoga, not Lagoda. That honestly would've been a funnier moment if the team caught onto that and if that lake was the right answer.

Pointless suffers from the BBC low budget. A friend was on Eggheads when the BBC had it and was asked to change his top and pointed to a shop over the road, He had done a quiz a few months before with ITV and was given choices to wear by wardrobe. Also offered an hotel the day before but not for BBC.

Some people still refer to what is now called X as Twitter. *I* still refer to X as Twitter since I started out while it was still Twitter
Technically X was formally known as Twitter before being re branded to X by Elon Musk if im not mistaken? so Twitter had every reason to be the right answer since X the re branded version of Twitter as Mark Lebbet would have stated its history.

This looks like an episode filmed during COVID days as they are stood far apart so it was probably still Twitter at the time

I’d say the closest chase was when Anne said the answer with a fraction of a second left, so the klaxon went and the team thought they would but they reviewed the footage and found out they hadn’t. They had to re-record the last question because of this

As a big fan of The Chase, that wasn't the closest final ever, I've seen much closer! There's been a few down to milliseconds. Still a great close Final chase of course.

Bit of ambiguity on the Simpsons question - Bart has two younger sisters - Lisa and Maggie.
@j4ug6vy4h I believe Bradley said "younger" in which case both would be correct. Lisa is "younger" than Bart, and Maggie is the younger of the two. If I heard incorrectly and you're correct, to say "youngest" when talking about two things would (grammatically) incorrect as well. Thus, ambiguity!
If the question was "who is the youngest Simpson sibling?" then it's Maggie with no ambiguity - right?

Can any quizzers watching this let me know your main method/s of gaining such general knowledge. Or sort of what are the main, broad categories to study
I think a lot of good quizzers play in the Online Quiz League
watch shows that really test your overall knowledge (Chase, mastermind etc.) Also if you want to learn more about a particular subject, search it and read the main things e.g. for an author learn the book titles, characters and main plot

Why do the contestants stand so far apart? do they smell? This must be very old also as the answer that was given in regards to X (formally Twitter) which was Twitter would now be incorrect, this must be over a year old, otherwise The Chase got that wrong.
