This is a 14 minute video (of mostly interviews) which I created this weekend at the annual "Trapper's Rendezvous" Boy Scout Campout near Hutchinson, Kansas. The weather was great and our boys had a fun weekend!
I've seen "Blackfeet" in documents from the 1800's. They were less impressed with grammatical correctness...if it sounded good, it was fine. Heck, back then (1820's) half the areas had different names than they have today...i.e. Green River was known by at least 4 or 5 different names.
I am mad dog 45 God bless all you Rendezvous people it has got so expensive where I live in Illinois to go to a rendezvous a family of four it cost $65 just to see anything I wish it was back 30 years ago when it was free and fun to go we have a rendezvous over and Vincennes Indiana it cost way too much to enjoy yourself anymore
I enjoyed the talk from the young girl about her skins she now's what she's talking about, I cured skins in my youth but used sulpeter and salt and once with no gloves on was turning a pelt about in the barrel had side red hands for a few days, Keep up with your work and safe hunting
Troy Upshaw I’ve been raised in the buckskinners community and the majority of people I’ve met or been around know what they’re talking about, either with the historical side, trapping, smithing, or whatever they’re at the rendezvous to demonstrate. If they aren’t there to demonstrate they at least know the basics of their stuff, I’ve never seen someone be welcomed into the community without the same community spending hours telling them what they should know.

My tarp was at the end of the video! It's the one with the laptop and the pink monkey!
People in this hobby should know what they are talking about, Ignorance is no excuse.
