Here's my take on it. I grew up obsessed with Newsies. When it came out, I watched it literally every day after school for a year. After that, I watched it frequently. I kinda stopped watching it by middle school, but in High School I started watching it again. I got friends obsessed and even dressed as a newsie on one of our themed spirit week days (it was history themed). I'm going to run out of space and will make a new comment, but just wanted make it clear that I was a huge newsies fan
I noticed that as well, but it’s hilarious Bc if you only know his work in musical theatre, he literally puts on so many different voices ( Bonnie and Clyde, newsies, finding neverland, etc) I love him so much tho lol
The '90s actor/singer Jeremy Jordan is perhaps best remembered as Guy Perkins, the popular guy in NEVER BEEN KISSED who takes Drew Barrymore's character Josie Geller to the prom. Though he was quite famous for his pop music, too. I remember hearing a lot about him in the mid-1990s and seeing him in my sister's Teen Beat magazines and the like. Incidentally, she had his poster on her bedroom wall. He was considered a heartthrob. I wonder what happened to him? NEVER BEEN KISSED came out in 1999, but I don't recall anything else he did after that.
"I can do, like....small dancing." XD Poor guy. "Yeah, I should probably...take that down..." XD And you know? He says "his first killing" with a bit too much pleasure for my taste...¡^¡ xD
Paul:do you think that newsies should go to broadway Jeremy: yes definitely me: HA!!!!!! Paul: hopefully someday you'll take over the other guys. Jeremy: yeah hopefully. me: he did!
So, my actual take on it. Seeing the Musical, I have trouble watching the movie. I find it slow and full of unnecessary plot points (and the singing only ok). The songs are great, but I can now see how someone not as into the guys and all of the singing would find this movie to be flawed/a flop. The Musical really cleans up the story; if the musical were the movie, it would have done much better, in my opinion. At a young age you just see the fun in the movie and nostalgia is a foggy window.
love this video! love Jeremy Jordan, he is amazing! But what I dont understand is Newsies the original being a flop in any way, wether it was Jeremy Jordan saying it or any one who left a comment. I grew up on it and I never thought flawed or flop when I watch it.
Note to your agents: Consider changing your name. If you are being confused with a gay porn star or a has-been pop music star.....it's time to change your name. Immediately.
