This is my problem, honestly. Any solution, youtubers! Grew up in a toxic set up: When buffett mentions 'drunken father" - it hit me hard....Mom/dad had such an abusive relationship and while they loved us, it was f'ed up. My father is no more (bless his soul) but mom has so many emotional scars over decades and it still comes out and the trauma gets taken out - it has affected our health, taken a long time to recover and heal, and has even impacted my relationships from the trauma she has brought. I have tried to have a sit down chat - but to no avail.
I want to be there for her but have minimized contact because I know she has a lot of healing to do. She took care of us and a lot of good things came from her raising us to do super well in our school and careers, instilling good values but it was in my 30s that I started realizing how much mental healing I had to go through to get out of that dysfunctional family set up.
a double edged sword this is. a culture of yes-men is also what brings most company's down in the end.
these were mainly the boomers when it comes to women sexuality, look at the rate the single moms we have today, divorce laws, increase of body counts, normalisation of hookup culture, the destruction of the marriage institution. when it comes to social behaviour everything will change in the future, people and especially women will be way more reckless in their spending and men can only stay single invest in a career and the stock market to feel safe. the educational system has been feminised and men like warren cant even see whats coming on for the modern men. Ill keep my value investing portfolio in the long term. I also believe stocks will get expensive to the point the next generation will a have a hard time buying since most young adults don't know the value of time and saving. Im in France almost no one reads books here. Its a shame. time in the market beats timing the market. people are much more emotional, that's why you see people gambling in the stock market. as he said stupid people only get me more opportunities.

Haha - I think they enjoy making money for their shareholders and derive thorough pleasure from finding great deals and businesses, else they wouldnt be doing this at this age. There's a reason they still are as sharp and wise as they are - thee is deep passion for what they do, I dont think it's money at this stage
That guy is Charlie Munger, one of the best and most successful investor and businessmen in the world. You can live 500 years and will not achieve 10% of his success.
This is America 🇺🇲. They can do whatever they want. If this is how they want to live their lives, then let them be. They're not bothering you, are they?
