The last post was last Saturday here, since then the roads have been impassable for normal vehicles and vans due to snow, the only one's about are the farmers feeding stock in the fields. Hoping for a thaw on Monday. Good job we keep milk and bread in the freezer for such times as these. Also a good job we had coal delivered last Friday too.
@@cloudmaker At least you won't have to go out. Parts of outer west & south west Sydney are on "flood watch"... If it rain's much more, we'll get to watch it flood... again! We haven't seen the forecast rain here, but still plenty to top up water tanks & wet the ground. Should see yellow stuff that looks like grass turn into green lawn. We have options to get out, if we need to. I've only had to go out during floods for those call outs that nobody else seems capable of doing, for fear their hair may turn a frizzy ginger! 🤣🤣 It's a hike to our nearest shops, doing 2-4 weeks worth at a time, dependant on upcoming weather. We get plenty of visitors, family & friends, most from a fair distance away, so it pays to be well stocked. The upside is, we have two fridges, a chest freezer & (when needed) two 40 litre car fridges that can also be turned down to freezers. Odd bits of "protein" frequently walk through the back yard, too. 🤣🤣
@@KevinD_33x150 They've floods about half an hour south of here and as they are about 1000ft lower they've no snow, but they'll be getting this snow melt next week, some major roads are closed to floods down there. That's a coincidence we've two fridges and chest freezer as well as a freezer in bottom half of other fridge, and we thought we were the strange ones, mind you we also have two kitchens, 3 kitchen sinks 2 electric cookers as well as the Rayburn. Maybe we think about food too much! Have a good weekend Kevin.
@@cloudmaker Yes! We saw them on the news here. Just as well we live on the hill. We're right on 150 metres (or about 492 feet) ASL. 👍🏼 Some may think we're a little strange... then again, most that think that live in suburbia! 🤣🤣 We've only the one kitchen, inside. Outside there's charcoal grillers & gas cookers. Sometime after Easter, I'm making a new woodfired barbecue with a pizza oven on the opposite end. It'll be big enough to roast a whole lamb. As a weird side note, I have a gas forge... for when you want some serious heat! 👍🏼🤣🤣 Aah, yes! It's ALL about the food! 👍🏼👍🏼
First reply disappeared. Hope you're not out on a bike in this lot. We've not ventured out since last week, no point taking a chance if not needed. Supplies in will keep us going for a while. Those lower down I feel sorry for as they are flooded already before this lot melts and heads their way. Take care if you are out and about. All the best.
It all depends where we are, in general we are on 12, which is the channel for some local quarries. Some in Staffordshire we use regularly are 22 and 38. Some quarries don't have shovels on the CB but it is a real boon when loading if they are, especially if it's very dusty or raining heavily. Also you can get directions in some of the larger ones if they have CB's, very helpful in my opinion. All the best.
Ain't no way nobody doin' any concretin' 'round 'ere! Too bloody wet! Bin rainin' for 3 days & nights! 🤣🤣 Today isn't leg day, either... 🤣🤣
