For everyone saying she's irrelevant, I remember Beth's design being insanely popular in TD newsstand books and promo art when I was about 5th grade, in the TDI&TDA arc. Good times.

Thank you for calling her bs character arc out! She never deserved to even make it to the merge, let alone the final two! Duncan was a bully but at least he got fleshed out in season 1. He played well in season 1 and 2 so it made sense why he would be a finalist. Beth was just there and never did anything half the time. I can see why the writers originally wanted Lindsay to be the original finalist.
That's a rumor, but I haven't found actual evidence of plans for Lindsay being a finalist. Also, that seems like something the producers or executives would decide rather than any individual writer.

Thank you for raising awareness of all of this! I’ve pointed out all of her BS in many of my reviews of this season, and it drove me nuts! The only thing I would’ve included here that wasn’t was her guilt-tripping Gwen in “The Chefshank Redemption” into throwing them the challenge, which her team was so stupid and lazy about, they shouldn’t have won anyways! Though to be fair, that might’ve required context, and time is limited so, it is what it is, you covered everything else at least 👍👍
Also, I’d genuinely have less issue with all the “boyfriend” talk if Brady was indeed fake as the cast assumed, which it *seemed* like he was, as she could barely name a thing about him that wasn’t on his picture. Yes, her lying about having a boyfriend would’ve been pathetic, but at least she wouldn’t have been cheating on anyone! But…nope. Brady’s real! Beth eating the cookies is somewhat understandable considering how bad the food is on the show, but the way she cheated on Brady and voting for Lindsay, who is supposed to be her best friend, on multiple occasions, is beyond wrong. I don’t outright hate Beth at all, but it is clear she is not the innocent cinnamon roll many people saw her as. At the very least with these actions, she does become quite a bit more interesting to me as a character for being flawed and not a mere Mary Sue for the writers to utilize.

I do think Beth is probs the most controversial winner. There’s 2 opinions about her that I see. U either like her, or u hate her. Personally, I love Beth. She’s an underdog and I love a good underdog story. Plus even if u don’t like Beth, she is probs one of, if not the best social player in TD history, including the reboot. I say this bc if u go back and watch the finale in action, Beth was able to answer every question about everyone of her competitors, while Duncan wasn’t. Also, one of the main reasons why Chef stayed in total drama was bc Beth was able to help Chris understand how valuable Chef was, let’s not forget that. Morally gray, I'd agree with, bad, I can see it, but the worst thing she did was be an unfaithful girlfriend, and had plenty of redeeming qualities in spite of that, such as saving Duncan from harm even though it would be risking the million, stealing sandwiches to share with everyone, rushing to Owen's aid when he was choking, (and in the case that she wins, though note: this isn't fully canon, using her winnings to get both her and Lindsay out of jail despite it being Lindsay's fault that she was in jail in the first place). She is also more often being friendly than aggressive, and even for her more insensitive comments, apologies are sometimes present.
Thank you for raising awareness of all of this! I’ve pointed out all of her BS in many of my reviews of this season, and it drove me nuts! The only thing I would’ve included here that wasn’t was her guilt-tripping Gwen in “The Chefshank Redemption” into throwing them the challenge, which her team was so stupid and lazy about, they shouldn’t have won anyways!
Though to be fair, that might’ve required context, and time is limited so, it is what it is, you covered everything else at least 👍👍
Also, I’d genuinely have less issue with all the “boyfriend” talk if Brady was indeed fake as the cast assumed, which it *seemed* like he was, as she could barely name a thing about him that wasn’t on his picture. Yes, her lying about having a boyfriend would’ve been pathetic, but at least she wouldn’t have been cheating on anyone! But…nope. Brady’s real! Making all of her actions reprehensible and confusing (seriously, how little do you know about this guy that you were officially dating?!)

Literally all the reasons people list for hating Beth are so pretty privileged. To add to the cheating thing, people also hate her for simping over Justin while having a boyfriend, when literally the entire S1 and 2 cast was simping over Justin, Lindsay was literally simping for him too WHILE dating Tyler, come on now. The cookie basket thing? Heather, Courtney, and Alejandro have done much worse than that yet they're fan favorites. The n-word scene? The "n-word" was literally 'no', Heather was being overdramatic. Her being 'annoying'? Beth eating the cookies is somewhat understandable considering how bad the food is on the show, but the way she cheated on Brady and voting for Lindsay, who is supposed to be her best friend, on multiple occasions, is beyond wrong. I don’t outright hate Beth at all, but it is clear she is not the innocent cinnamon roll many people saw her as. At the very least with these actions, she does become quite a bit more interesting to me as a character for being flawed and not a mere Mary Sue for the writers to utilize.

I do think Beth is probs the most controversial winner. There’s 2 opinions about her that I see. U either like her, or u hate her. Personally, I love Beth. She’s an underdog and I love a good underdog story. Plus even if u don’t like Beth, she is probs one of, if not the best social player in TD history, including the reboot. I say this bc if u go back and watch the finale in action, Beth was able to answer every question about everyone of her competitors, while Duncan wasn’t. Y’all might not like Beth and y’all might think she didn’t deserve to win, but y’all have to give her credit for her performance in the finale of Action.
Also, one of the main reasons why Chef stayed in total drama was bc Beth was able to help Chris understand how valuable Chef was, let’s not forget that. AND Beth is very strategic when she wants to be. If u remember, Beth tried to get out Duncan TWICE, but both times it was ruined by someone else. (Harold the first time, Lindsay the 2nd).
