Pannonian Pope in this timeline it seens
If you do the Risorgimento right you can annex them for free it’s really fun style to play especially with Sardinia. Just have to make them like you and get them into your customs union. After a period of time which seems random, but more likely to happen when they like you more you get them for free.
But is this mechanic works with the Papacy as well?
@@idontlikerome2744 I am honestly unsure. I know every other Italian state needs nationalism and it will start. I think I saw it in his journal during the game but unsure if the papacy tag allows it.

A new suggestion. Stakuyi, if you like video game politics, *Frostpunk 2* is coming out next month, and it’s looking like it’s shaping up to be a really good game. In preparation, this is day 1 of asking you to play the original *Frostpunk* , a game about morals, deus vult, and child labour, set in the icy apocalypse.
Frostpunk is one of my favorite games of all time and the best management/civ/city game

I really do not know what happened to your nation during this run. It’s been a long while since I touched the Papel States but you should have been able to unify Italy as the Pope and form the Kingdom of God. And it can be done diplomatically minus Austrian controlled land. You shouldn’t have gotten the Roman Republic unless I missed a part where you didn’t select the option that the Pope should unify Italy.
When he learned Nationalism, the event "Risogimento" procced (as it will for any Italian state). He accepted and when reached 25% radicals in his Italian pop (due to his infamy), it fired off the seizure of the Papal Government by Pan-Italian revolutionaries from Two Sicilies (as TS had Nationalism too). Had he improved relations with TS enough (or supported TS radicals), he might have gotten an event to get them to join the Papal States instead of what happened (he could have done the same vs. Piedmont and Venice too, IIRC).

Victoria 3 is super weird to me. The entire fanbase wanted it for years but since the release was so bungled and the gameplay being pretty meh, its one of the lowest played paradox games thats still alive. It averages about 5k players in 30days.. half of what EU4 has and less than EU4 has ever had since about a month after launch and that games about 10years old and a bloated mess. I wouldnt be surprised to see Viccy 3 go the way of Imperator Rome with time
Edit to add: in the last 4 days this video was uploaded, less people have opened viccy 3 on steam than have viewed this video.
