Thank you for posting this video! -- Can you tell me the cost of the panel, make, and model (Aprilaire 6504 Intelligent Zone Comfort Control System?), and are there any other items needed to get this system up & running? Like a thermostat? Are there separate costs to open & close the dampers? Assuming we need an HVAC or Electrician to install this.
They just so happen to have 2 zones but 2 zones are not needed. You just need to tap into the current ducts and add new ones to the finished space in the basement and adjust all the dampers in the ducts to balance out the air. Slightly more air/heat in the basement as the heat will naturally rise to the main floor and then the second floor if there is a second floor.
We have ducts and vents to the finished basement in our new home. We only have the main floor and basement. It is still cold right now. I watched the video but I’m still unclear as to what the upgrade was- other than shutting off some of the dampers on the main floor.
I just had my HVAC guy come in I have central air just had a new furnace and I had them add a essential air duct to my basement which is now dual heat and central air
I’ve lived in New England for 30 years and I’ve dealt with patients and you’re not gonna wanna hear this basement. Basements are not designed for living quarters and you need excellent airflow dehumidifier and you’ll never get rid of the dampness
But that area heater creates heat. They are not creating any extra heat. They are just moving/using it in the basement and then just naturally rise to the 1st and 2nd floor. Granted the 1st zoom includes the basement and 1st floor, but the second zone of the second floor isnt calling for heat since the heat rises up to it.
You don't have to be rude. It's their video, they can make it as long or as short as you want. If you don't like it, you can go to someone else's video.
Thanks for watching! He also installed a steam humidifier that I am loving! More on that here: ua-cam.com/video/oXGo_CKEnXc/v-deo.html
Would shutting too many dampers create too much pressure on the other ducts, thus causing leaks?

So what did you do?
They added ducts/registers to the zone of the first floor and adjusted dampers to balance it.
What does that mean? @@busterhimself
How much did it cost and how much work?
If you ask a question , be ready for a long not to the point answer
Thanks for the advice. Also noticed the Rachio3.

I believe that will not work on a single thermostat placed on the 1st floor.
Dad, Instead of talking too much if you had come to had solution more people would like.
Too much talking....
Waste of time. Just close your upstairs registers or summer if them to diverter air down stairs. Granted you have a register in your basement
❤❤❤❤
Or you could always just use a small $50 area heater and save a bunch of money.

What happened to JUST GETTING TO THE POINT?
Just say how to do it. We dont care about neighbors
