Owned the venom a few months now and user it about 9-10 times. Came in handy removing a leaky fuel tank mounting strap bolt on my daughters 04 Hyundai Santa Fe. Beat getting a torch out and setting things on fire... 💥🔥🔥
Thanks for the video. One thing you don't mention is the wattage of both units. That's the true test of the power of the unit. The coils are insulated with fiberglass sheathing. The bolts will rise in temperature very quickly, as long as the coil is the proper size, and your thermal imager is reading the temp of the coil while you are using the bolt heater, since it's surrounding the bolt head. The coil will take longer to heat up, and you'll likely find that you can heat it for a shorter time, and check the bolt with the coil removed, and see it's hotter than the coil. Your coils will last longer this way. You can probably buy the insulative sheathing and the copper wire, and make your own, cheaper. Are you still happy with these tools? I don't own one, but plan on building my own. I do play with these types of supplies for other reasons, like driving flyback transformers for high voltage electronics projects.
The supply used is called a zvs driver or zvs induction power supply, for those who wanna build one. They're relatively inexpensive to buy on eBay, and I think you can build your own bolt heater for under $100, if you are crafty😁
I have the bolt buster which was expensive as well but the damn thing is amazing up here in central ny. Nothing repla es my torches but the induction heater is great to have.
Thankyou for the comparison, Im just home DIY but Ive always had oxy torch for gas welding plus heating of stuck parts, we pretty much all know just how many grazed knuckles a bit of heat saves and ironically now Im into EVs the risk of kaboom is way less anyways without gas tanks around. From where I can see on EVs the high mix of aluminium structure, steel bolts and road salt means were gonna be in for a lot of seized fasteners and Induction heaters are gonna be a thing. Ive a cheapo Ali Express 1000w unit on the way as ill not be using the kit commercially then again a bit of luck ill not end up with prize fighters knuckles after being able to induction loosen fasteners when swapping out the Teslas suspension links!
After I warrantied a mini ductor that wasn’t working for another, I hoped it would be a great tool. But, the second one did the same thing, thermal and turned off, never got the bolt/nut as hot as I wanted. Maybe i’ll try another one, or another brand.
The VENOM would fit in TIGHT spaces the other one is too wide with the knobs on the sides. Plus it seems like the VENOM is more consistent with the temperature.
I own handheld induction heaters 110V in USA and want it have a compare with VENOM 2300W model in heating, is it possible arrange a test video ? FREE Sample Unit can provide!!!
Great video! have you used one of the long freehand coils that are made to wrap around large parts like the spindle and wheel hub connect area? How long would you guesstimate before the coils burn out? A few used or x100 uses etc?
Attach 2 welding stick holders to your rod welder, you allready have one.The ESAB type is the best, cause you tighten a screw around the rod in that type.Buy a U formed ductor coil, and shape it to fit your project,or buy preshaped.Put one coil end into one rod holder and do the same with other end of the coil and other stick holder.Tape the two holders together, turn welder to a minimum, and start your welder and simply see what happens.Hold your finger on the stop button and remember that I dont know anything about your welder or local grid, but in principle, you are doing the same thing as you do when you try to start stickwelding, and the rod fastens to your workpiece, the stick begins to glow,if you dont remove it.Good luck and stay safe!
I would say the venum is controlling its temp by measuring resistance through the element. My thought on why it took longer to heat, BUT that should prolong the life of the elements.
Good video. I think we have to ask ourselves how much of our money we want to give to communist China. I like the US made unit. Imagine the US company having to compete against the slave labor model. Also, I noticed that the US company has a higher output version and I'm guessing you can call them and they stand by their product. Also, does a few seconds matter? I care more about how long it will last. You also want the heat to go down the bolt to the threads. That takes time regardless.
@@daddybdpearson1 can't go wrong with it even for the price it's a plus as well as how fast it is yeah 700 plus is pretty steep for a conductor some coils and some plastic
Any updates on the reliability over time? I am looking to see if I can find any updated videos as mentioned in the video.

Should of also tested the made in the USA bolt buster cheaper then venom too.
Great comparison! Thanks for sharing this!
I am glad the wife had gone out before I watched this video.
So shhhhhh dont tell her that I will be looking to buy one!
Lil expensive but definitely worth it when needed

The venom is great I use it in our shop whenever I get the chance to.
WATTAGE: Venom 1000w, WOYO HBR 900w. NOTE: Venom HP is 1800w.

I have been looking to replacing using my torch since getting gas a is a hassle. You still would use your torch of this induction heater? If so why?

I've been wanting the Venom. It's on my list. Thanks for the review JRC54
we had that venom on the snapon truck Forever ...I live in Pittsburgh and am amazed no shops jumped on it
Because it's cheaper online
nice comparison safer than open flames I want one of these eventually but cost is high
Took me awhile to justify the price too. But it's definitely cheaper than breaking a bunch of fasteners.
How much was that SnapOn cabinet? Wow.

Maybe i’ll try another one, or another brand.
Which brand did you get
Need to find a way to use one of those for tie rods. Would need to be some kind of U shaped coil.
Great review! Thank You. I didn't know about these tools until recently. Now I think I understand them pretty well. Thanks again!
MAN I MUST SAY , THIS IS A GREAT CHANNEL PLEASE KEEP UP THE FANTASTIC WORK !
Thank you very much. I sure will try👍
I have the venom also, love it
Transistors, technology from sub-woofer amp.. they burn out after 5year.. NOT BAD.. GREAT VIDEO
Where do you buy open loop clamp tip?
Like the venom coil lock system
Omg Jim, you're alive bro. Don't need that kind of heat often here in FL, but the lisle might be in my future.
The VENOM would fit in TIGHT spaces the other one is too wide with the knobs on the sides. Plus it seems like the VENOM is more consistent with the temperature.
Very clear demo and presentation.
I own handheld induction heaters 110V in USA and want it have a compare with VENOM 2300W model in heating, is it possible arrange a test video ? FREE Sample Unit can provide!!!
May I see the inside of mini ductor
awesome! I wonder what we can find to heat up for a fun vijeo?
Why heat a bolt head causing it to expand and tighten? A nut on a threaded stud yes
I have heard the mini ductor venom is not as good as the mini ductor II
Can you braze copper with that device? If you can that will be a game changer in the HVAC industry. Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately induction heater is made for steel.
are you sure the Woyo is also a 'Mini Ductor'? Isn't it a different brand?
The 50-foot cord recommendation was a *safety* issue, not a performance issue.
Good tool i think would buy one of the venom and thank you for the info and tips bratha. cheeeeeeeers
Nice review , there are grease prints on your box. New guys already slacking ;)
I'm going to tell Steve first thing Monday 😁
The venom is definitely on my list.

The coils should last a good while. They don't heat up much, only the ferrous metal does.
Great great video bro!!!!
I just use the coil in my welder.Does the same.
What do you mean?

that will heat the coil , not the item inside the coil as the frequency is too low. @@claesmansson9070
Great comparison brother tan k you

That's what I was thinking.
Hey Jim , That was Cool . Nice Job .
Good video JRC54
They were both 25 seconds
I bought a cheaper one one eBay.
Good informative video
Nope hate that collar for locking in the electrodes. That looks like something enginerded to wear out and to eventually fail.

The cheaper one is better.
The woyo was way faster then the venom
I think that's the one I will be getting, not ready to drop over $700, for a tool I will only use occasionally. I also like the gun design.

China brand heat up darn quick.
ill take the venom usa made all day long!!
